- There are thousands of stray cats on the streets of Istanbul. I want you to meet many of them!
If you've been following my travels, you know I didn't have the most enjoyable time in Istanbul. However, the Istanbul cats were definitely a bright spot! I would often go outside just to play with the friendly street kittens of Istanbul.
Istanbul is famous for a few things, but the street cats are my favorite.
I love animals, especially cats. I grew up with some when I was younger.

Cats are not homeless in Istambul. They have nice homes built by kind humans and the municipality.
The title is completely wrong.
It is just like saying: " Meeting the enslaved cats and dogs in LA or NYC", for example.
This is false. Many/most of the cats are, in fact, homeless. And there's nothing wrong with that. In fact, probably they prefer it! There are many nice pads and little structures for the cats.

Why is there do many cats there? Stray cats?
it's because istanbul was a port city in past history. many ships docked there from many other places. and on ships they have cats. cats get rid of pests and mice. after they docked cats got lost in istanbul and became residents. they own the city. hoomans are just guests.

Because Turks are real animal lovers. Turks want to show that humans and animals can live together. Not only cats but also dogs and birds are comfortable and happy in Turkey.
Dumb question. There are no "stray" cats, just locked-up cats in some other places of the world.
