Isaac has an amazing mind, the scope of his vision is to the end of time, and he has a voice I can listen to all night… once I get a snack, and a drink and settle in to have my mind blown.

He is incredible and has so many great things to talk about, but I don’t understand his voice. Does he have a speech impediment? Some of his vowels are off.

Isaac mentioned that people have more stress in their lives than previous generations. I grew up up in the sixties in Australia's largest inland city (pop. 50,000). Houses cost two years gross income. Mum didn't need to work. School was a short walk. Five TV channels were enough to augment reality. In my recollection, the stress levels were far lower than now.

Yeah I feel like housing costs is a huge stress, that needs to be solved.

Isaac Arthur was a soldier and studied biophysics. Guy knows what he's talking about and genuinely seems like a nice guy to have a few beers with.

I'm most optimistic about the advancements in clean energy technology. Thinking of life extension, increased access to energy and technology in general is the number one driver of increased life expectancy. As wind, solar, and batteries improve and the costs continue to fall they will enable rapid development for all areas without service from current infrastructure.

I came here for Isaac too, but this woman seems like a good interviewer. She asks a question and lets him answer. So many today are in love with their own voice, and want to talk over the person they are are interviewing. I don’t know if she is one of the loons or not, but I can’t imagine Isaac giving her his time if she was.

Very important PSA here: The hole in the Ozone layer was stopped by Human Intervention - comprehensive bans on the worst chemicals responsible for it and their widespread (mis)use. Not by "the market" or some other neocon pipedream. The same goes for climate change. As soon as we get suitable legislation in the major contributing nations, it will slow down. Not before....

I think you have a wrong misinterpretation about what is "the market".
