Donny Wiggins true but the animatronics make it more realistic and less fake to me i thouht Jurassic Park and Fallen Kingdom actually had real dinosaurs!
When you see the Jurassic Park 1993 clip following the Carnosaur 1993 clip you can see the difference straightaway: Spielberg did something extraordinary: he made those animals live. No going back from that.
Ben Harris Spielberg knew how to make practical effects the likes of which I don't think has been replicated since. The raptors in all the close up shots were people in highly complex and detailed costumes, bigger dinos were nearly all well sculpted animatronics. The few scenes with CGI were used in conjunction with the costumes and animatronics to still make it look real.
When you realize Carnosaur competed against Jurassic Park in 1993 in cinemas for best dinosaur film, and in an alternate universe Jurassic Park flopped and Carnosaur had 2 sequels and then a reboot.
To be honest I’m happy JP did well because Jurassic Park is awesome Haven’t seen Carnosaur thought but the fact it had outdated dinosaurs when it easily could have referred to recent studies is kind of dumb, another movie that did that was Jurassic World and Jurassic World could have easily Improved upon JP’s accuracy and showed people that Feathers are scary too and it would have been better, but I can understand if Carnosaur was just trying to give the people what they expected from Dinosaurs

Jurassic Park II is really the superior film from a techincal special effects standpoint. xAlpha Wolfzx Dude, he said „remastered“, not „remade“. Currently the VFX of Jurassic Park are only rendered at a 2K resolution. Remastering could also open the opportunity of updating the textures. When they released the 3D version, which did have quite some VFX changes, they made the original version still available. It would not be vandalism if the original is still made available (unlike Star Wars).

A lot. They are all either film versions of Arthur Conan Doyle's novel "The Lost World" (1912) or just references to it. JP2 for example is just referencing the title and the notion of a lost world but the reason why is better explained in the book. There's actual argument whether isla Sorna is an example of a lost world or not.
*For all the hate* What hate.. Maybe when it was released.. but today.. Little hate for the original film, the new ones however, yeah overuse of CGI at times.
No it get hate the inaccuracies in the dinosaurs a big one was feathers but what most people do not realize is at the time feathers on dinosaurs was just getting enough evidence to actually be considered as facts. Whem th er movie was released it was considered to be a pretty realistic representation of how dinosaurs really looked and behaved at the time. Also people like to point out the velociraptor as being incorrect size in the book they explain that it is really a bigger raptor species that I cant spell lol as the lab guys really didn't know what exact Species they are getting and were hoping Paleontologist could confirm the species of alot ot the dinosaurs to either be what they think they are or correct them. The last big gripe from the first movie is the size of the dilophosaurus and the frill and spitting venom the one in the movie is a very young one that explains the size and well the frill and venom was totally made up but looked cool.
For a very long time there was a lie going around that dinosaurs were too big to be able to walk on land, so it was assumed that brontosaurs were aquatic animals in the rivers. Also with that belief, it was believed that the dinosaurs had a pose similar of that to humans because of a famous artist named Neave Parker. We know now that those ideas were REALLY stupid looking XD www.nhm.ac.uk/discover/whats-wrong-with-these-dinosaur-reconstructions.html
Neca GMK What about Disney's "Dinosaur"? That's an entirely animated movie! Plus the Iguanodons have lips, for Pete's sake! At least the ones in Fantasia are 100% accurate by the standards of back then.

Personally, I love Jurassic Park. When I was 3 to 5 years old, I would just skip to the famous parts and parts I just loved in general, but now that I took the time to actually watch the whole thing, I see something I never saw before: A movie that will stay in A+++ for the rest of my life.
I don’t know why but I love the design of dinosaurs (especially theropod like t-Rex) dragging their tails along the floor it’s just so retro 2:02 good example
Jurassic Park STILL looks amazing. It's the first move with dinosaurs that looked good. The gold standard, and in my opinion the effects look better than anything SINCE then as well.
I loved the original "Jurassic Park", it was by far the spookiest of the franchise and of course the dinosaurs had never looked any better. But the pteranodons and the spinosaurus in the third picture, were great in their own right, since neither dinosuar had ever had much screen presence in previous dinosaur movies.

Dinosaur Island (There's 3 different movies with that title) The Flintstones Walking with Dinosaurs (More of a documentary, but it's iconic enough to count.) Ice Age 3 The Land that Time Forgot The Last Dinosaur Legend of the Dinosaurs Epic Days of the Dinosaur Massacre in Dinosaur Valley Carnosaur 2 & 3 Tammy and the T-Rex (Not sure if a robot dino counts though.) Jurassic City Fantasia We're Back. A Dinosaur Story Scooby-Doo! Legend of the Phantosaur And that's not counting the ones that came out after 2015. Let me know what I missed.
I feel like "Walking with Dinosaurs" might have made a good edition before Jurassic World. I thought it was pretty good, and it would kinda fill in the gap. Idk XD Great video though, loved it.
Yeah, especially considering at the time, Walking With Dinosaurs CGI was fucking amazing. Even now, their Animatronics and effects still hold up, but Jurassic Park doesn't seem to age.
"Walking With" was my proper introduction to Dinosaurs as a topic. I was too young to watch Jurassic Park at the time it came out so I might be biased in saying the 'Walking With' Tyrannosaurus is by far the superior depiction.
Why do people complain about Jurassic Parks realism (special affects wise not science wise I understand the scientific complaints) The Jurassic park franchise has the most realistic effects out of all of these. And nearly any other movie I've seen. Yeah they don't have feathers and they call the Deinonychus a Velociraptor (explained in the book) and rexy (the only rex in the franchise that can't see when you don't move) not being able to see was explained in the book as another mutation in the dna. Something Wu would have fixed in the next "upgrade" if the Denis hadn't Fed everything. Book explains ALOT
It's called budget. There was one in the 1940s in which a T-Rex-like beast was a man in a costume. It looked terribly unnatural, and the movement was stiff. Frickin' O'Brien in the 1930s did a superbly better job.
@Critical Critical it *may* look but why do people start crying just because they are nostalgic with something? I am nostalgic with "godzilla(1998)" I am nostalgic with the "micheal bay transformers films" and I'll always will be but are they good?? NO! a big no. the only difference is that the films I watched where very high budget and had spectacular c.g.i but in terms of storyline and accuracy to the source material they're pretty bad and I agree with that. Jurassic park was the first ever movie i watched and loved it. and I STILL do! because it deserves it. the story is very good the effects(both practical effects and the cgi) are also extremely good. so we should just see what's good regardless of the nostalgia, the year it was made(many zoomers keep saying new=best and old=bad and traditionalists keep saying old=good and new=bad) and the country it came from.
Carnosaur and Jurassic Park released less than a month apart. Imagine watching Carnosaur first, thinking the effects looked pretty great, and then go in and watch Jurassic Park right after.

When you see the Jurassic Park 1993 clip following the Carnosaur 1993 clip you can see the difference straightaway: Spielberg did something extraordinary: he made those animals live. No going back from that.
Sam Edwards I’m pretty sure industrial lights and sound did that, but I see what you’re saying
Sam Edwards it’s called having a bigger budget
Jurassic park is by far the best
Jurassic World too.
COSMO hell yes!
Definitely not.
The one from 1940 was kinda cool
When you realize Carnosaur competed against Jurassic Park in 1993 in cinemas for best dinosaur film, and in an alternate universe Jurassic Park flopped and Carnosaur had 2 sequels and then a reboot.
Carnosaur didn't flop, I liked it more than Jurassic Park
To be honest I’m happy JP did well because Jurassic Park is awesome
Haven’t seen Carnosaur thought but the fact it had outdated dinosaurs when it easily could have referred to recent studies is kind of dumb, another movie that did that was Jurassic World and Jurassic World could have easily Improved upon JP’s accuracy and showed people that Feathers are scary too and it would have been better, but I can understand if Carnosaur was just trying to give the people what they expected from Dinosaurs
Arran Vid you’re opinion doesn’t matter then
@@unholybeing6414 while I like fuzzy t-rex as much as the next person, JW does have a canon reason for the dinosaurs looking like that, or rather Dr. Henry Wu does. Jurassic Park II is really the superior film from a techincal special effects standpoint. The textures on the CGI models are a little better and I like how much practical effects and CGI are used together, more so than the first film. Look at the city destruction scenes for example. My personal favourite from the series.

How many films are there called The Lost World?
A lot. They are all either film versions of Arthur Conan Doyle's novel "The Lost World" (1912) or just references to it. JP2 for example is just referencing the title and the notion of a lost world but the reason why is better explained in the book. There's actual argument whether isla Sorna is an example of a lost world or not.

For all the hate Jurassic Park gets for realism, they seem to be the first movie to portray theropods in the correct stance

It's called budget. There was one in the 1940s in which a T-Rex-like beast was a man in a costume. It looked terribly unnatural, and the movement was stiff. Frickin' O'Brien in the 1930s did a superbly better job.

NO! a big no. the only difference is that the films I watched where very high budget and had spectacular c.g.i but in terms of storyline and accuracy to the source material they're pretty bad and I agree with that.
