Have you ever ran the rimrocker, or wanted to? Let us know down below?
I'm hoping to check this one off the list next year!
It’s a great trip! I really enjoyed it!
We ran the Rimrocker 2 years ago. Spent 3 nights on the trail. Gorgeous views everywhere! Heading back this year with friends and family. Had to laugh...Buckeye was a small mudhole when we went through. Hope it stays full this year.
That’s great, we probably rushed through it too quick, definitely want to get back to buckeye again!
It'd always fun to just get out and do a little camping and overlanding. It looks like you all had a great time!
Thanks! It was a nice change of pace, that’s some really awesome country !
Your in the same boat as me. Wife two kids and dog in the jeep. A roo rack will make your life sooooo much easier. I have a fridge a stack of drawers and my grill in the back tent recovery gear and a storage box on top that will hold everything else we could need. My dog rides in the middle in the backseat and a case if water is the foot rest for my shorter daughter.
It fills up fast in there! I think in the future we may upgrade our overlanding set up, right now we are just trying to figure out which way we want to go, the setup works for now, and is fun to get out with. I will look into the roo rack, thanks!
Howdy I just found your channel I live in Montrose right in town GOD BLESS
Thanks for checking out our channel. We are a family based off road channel, and we feature a lot of the trails in the western Colorado area.
I enjoy these!! I have not done the Rimrocker yet! I have however went from the Colorado river in Utah near the Top of the World down a road that crossed the Dolores River about 20ish times and popped out near the Driven Car Club in Gateway. To this date, its still probably THE most scenic route I've ever been on!
Thanks! I wonder if the area you are talking about the Dolores triangle area, I have heard about it, but never been there. There is some really great empty country out there!
@@wheelinoutwest I thought Delores triangle was further south but I could be wrong. Onion creek road to John brown I believe.
I'll watch anything with a Westie, headed to that area in 4 weeks
Brave going off road with Toyota people. I kid. Looks like a good time - rain and all
😂 yep, we got lots of Toyota friends! They had to jump start us as well had a dead battery in the morning from the cooler!🤦♂️
Did you have reservations for the Buckeye camp site? I'm looking to do this route in August in a couple of weeks.
No, we did not have to have reservations, it’s first come first serve.
Wait. Four people, three dogs, and camping gear all in that Jeep? No way.
😂 yep, we sure packed it all in there! I have a feeling we will be looking to upgrade our overlanding/camping setup in the future.
Average speed?
Depends on the area, Montrose to nucla is an easy 25 mph, nucla to moab can be much slower in areas.
Y'all need to facilitate the roof on that there automobile
Yep, I agree, we don’t typically tent camp. But, we are going to start to explore our options in the future, we may end up getting a gladiator and putting a roof top tent in that.
