    landon's commentary is epic. it's extremely thoughtful how he starts his analysis at the 30,000ft level speaking about the theoretical scenario and what ranges should do in this spot, and then boiling it down to how he would segment his range, and then where his hand fits in that range. more landon

    I like Landon around the 8:00 mark. Really spelling out why flatting from anywhere but the Button or big blind can be a dicey proposition. He has Trevor’s range pegged, so he’s going to be making a ton of 3 bets knowing that Trevor is just going to have to fold a lot.

This might come off as arrogant or negative, but thats not my intension at all; It's a bit fun to see the comments from the recs that get's impressed by "how deep the thought processes" goes in this game. Blind vs blind ranges are very wide even in lower levels, so not really sure what your point is there. Also, that has nothing to do with that particular hand. That river bet is 100% wrong. If you want to prove me wrong, name me the actual value hand Trevor is getting value from.

    • @RaisingTheNuts
      @RaisingTheNuts 3 роки тому +4

      @@DD-vc7fq It's very thin. It performs best if I think my opponent is capable of trying to figure out what hands he should be turning into bluffs on the river. This is going to be mostly hands like T9 and Q9 and maybe some 98. JT (which I heavily block) and QT have to make decisions on what to do versus this sizing and decide whether they need to call or bluff raise. So its a bet that performs best against capable opponents who we can induce to make check raise bluffs in spots where they don't have a ton of value to check raise either. Additionally this bet allows me to bluff for a cheap sizing when I have my complete air hands that opted to bet/check/bet. Those hands are targeting the weakest parts of his range like pocket pairs and the 9x holdings. I certainly wouldn't view it as a mandatory bet, it's debatable and against opponents that have zero check raise as a bluff abilities on the river it may be too thin - the thing is opponents who have zero check raise bluffs also tend to be the same opponent who shrug and call with 33 on this board when there is a lot of money out there.

    I think on that last hand going small as a river bluff was a mistake. I think if Matt examines what range of hands he would 3-bet the UTG opener with and then triple barrel for value he'll see that it's a lot of very nutted hands on this texture. Additionally some of these hands like AA and QQ should be exclusive to Matt's range. Landon is a thinking player and I think he would be capable of folding hands as strong as Jx to a river overbet and Matt really doesn't have many triple barrel bluffs in this spot. He needs to let it rip.
