Hey Geek sorry to bother you again, just watched your spoon video we use spoons for toothy cridders we always use steel leaders is this going to hurt the bass fishing??
My slump finally ended today- nothing great, just landed a couple of 2-3 pounders but- it's been months since I've caught anything. Everything has been flooded and we finally got a break from all the rain, everything is about back to normal- still a bit stained and up but, not horribly. Had to fish a wacky rig- for a long time- but I caught a couple so, I'm not complaining. Now to see if I can do it again in the morning. in fact the last time I caught anything I was trying a technique I learned from you- fishing a fluke out deep with a spinning setup.
@@BassGeek Man- had a great day- sort of. I caught a few that went maybe 2-3 pounds on a jig bite but- I hooked into a real monster- like 7-9 pounds- and lost her at the bank. She bit right at my feet and because I had so little line out she was able to take all the slack before I could even set the hook- then drag starts dumping out of my reel and I fought her back to the bank but- she got into some tree roots and managed to find the leverage to throw my jig. My pb is 5lbs 10 oz and I know she was about twice that large. Going back tomorrow- and everyday after that- until I get her. It's a spillway so she doesn't have many places to go, I think she'll stay in that area probably. Lots of bait there and gar- which means there are lots of bass usually.
I finally bit the bullet and bought the live scope with a 1022 graph. Haven’t installed it yet but can’t wait. Been guiding for veterans groups taking up my free time.
@@BassGeek I spooled up with 15lb braid and 8lb flouro leader. Sometimes I think it’s gonna empty the spool. The baitcaster spybaits are heavier though, but sink a little faster and cast like a dream
@@BassGeek good stuff. I appreciate you and your channel for teaching all. It also pushes us all to invent or reinvent our approach & technique and adopt new styles. The mid west help with my Ned rig game.
Set that hook Rogers... dang!! U are fishing deep tho. I throw the Alpha and cant believe the bigguns I land with those little hooks. That's about as fun as finesse gets I think, castin and reelin. Side note: i bought all the Boss stuff to start making my own jigs and I enjoy it. After about a 3hr dry spell today I downsized to a little 3/8 structure jig with an eerie darter trailer and started stroking it. 3rd cast hit like a truck and weighed in at exactly 5.00lbs. A 5lb bass is always a treat but on a jig I made is really cool!! That lake is gorgeous! Your gonna start winning some UA-cam cinematography awards.
Yeah I seen those but haven't pulled the trigger on the Alpha yet. I love the body style so I'm gonna put a order in soon. hahaha Thanks and congrats on that 5lber
Btw bro still got the BassGeek on my truck even tho I pro staff for bait company and have primary sponsor for tournaments. Always represent the bass geek nation. Even have mentioned you several times in my videos.
Since I introduced Spybaiting literally 10 years ago some of our biggest fish came from 30 ft . You are doing a great job. The spin bait 72 is a great bait for deep presentation. I have several models : Spinbait 60, Spinbait 60 grade A, Spinbait 62 (I class version), Spinbait 72 I class version, Spinbait 80 , and 80 Gfix , Spinbait 90 and Spinbait 100. Great video David Swendseid Take care
Hey you better call any of the places and check that you want to hit someone told me that a lot of the places in PF are closing back down. I would call a few of the spots you plan on hitting. I don't know how true it is.
Ya I heard that well originally we were supposed to be down there last yr but they shut everything down so they said we had a yr to use it so now we're kinda stuck but hey for me if I gotta go sit in a beautiful cabin house up in the Smokey's just the fam hanging out and get outta pa I'm all right with that to lol at this point
Bank fishing. Try a stick bait, Texas rigged or wacky rigged. These will usually produce a fish. Throw and let it sit for 15-30seconds. Raise the tip of the rod about 1” then lower it letting the lure fall back down. Let sit again. Rinse, repeat. Keep slack out of your line. When you feel a big bump or the line takes off hold the rod high while reeling in. Best of luck!
Been playing with a spybait on Lake Hartwell this week. I didn’t do too well, but then I didn’t do much better with anything else either. Found some fish, but just couldn’t get a steady bite. Looking forward to throwing the spybait more in the future.
Professional intro man! Summer fishing has been brutal this year so far. My lake is deep in some areas up to 60’. I will defiantly try this approach. Thanks man! Great vid.
Gotta couple strip mine lakes I fish that run pretty deep. Good luck on wrapping up the house & gettin that me time in. Thanks for the tips! Love the content 👊
Man, you need to take you a Spro rat or MS Slammer over there one morning or evening. Talk having a ball. If I’m ever over there when you are, I’ll show you some explosions
I could see them on the graph yesterday, and we threw everything at them. They just wouldn't bite. The water surface temp was 96 degrees. I know they are safe from me until the heat index here drops back below 105. The heat index yesterday was 112 and you couldn't buy a breeze.
I like to match the hatch as much as possible. I use the 90 most and the 80 second most. The 3 Duo’s are 80, 90, and 100 they are each a little bigger than the next and sink a little faster. Clear water I go to the ghost minnow in that ultra clear water is the stuff. I keep the others simple. Bone, and something with chartreuse and purple for smallies
Thanks Geek dig it!!!
Thank you
Hey Geek sorry to bother you again, just watched your spoon video we use spoons for toothy cridders we always use steel leaders is this going to hurt the bass fishing??
@@jamesdishman3005 I don’t think I would use the steel leader for bass but it might work. Never know till ya try

I need to do it so bad.
I love using craink bait
Me to.
Glad you got out on the water. Good video..
Me too. Now I need to catch some pigs.
I bought me a few Duo spybaits for baitcasters and a new Curado 70xg mgl. Talk about sending a bait a sail
Heck yeah. I do like the lighter line with them.

Come on man!! Why!!?? West coast secret!!! Great video man. Good teacher. We’ve been doing this for a minute out west
hahahha man those ledge bass get stingy this time of year. I had so let the cat out of the bag.

Thanks for watching man and maybe next tiem.
You should put the arashi on if you aren’t getting the bigs to bite on the duo
I need to try that one out.
Another great video ….
Thank you and thanks for being a supporter for a year or more.

Last year I bought a kayak and just started fishing off shore structure. Your vids have helped alot.

wish they'd get deep better for me down here hasn't been a good year out deep for me
It's not great here they are just pulling out.
Thanks Hank. Never used a spybait. I will have to grab a couple and give em a shot.
They are fun cast countdown and reel
Are you on Pound Lake???
Maybe. I’m definitely on top secret lake P
@@BassGeek my mom is originally from Pound Virginia
Does that lake have much current pulling through it? If not I can’t believe the thermocline isn’t in it.
Not a lot but it does have one down at about 25ft right now.
Man I'll be coming through your area again heading to Tennessee but this time the fam will be with me were going to pigeon forge Tennessee on vaca

No sir and I’m just playing today. Just to see if there are anything new they will eat
Looked like the thermalcline was about 22 to 25 by your graph?? Yes?
Yeah it was right at about that for sure.
I’m a beginner fisherman trying to catch my first bass could anyone tell me what to use I’ll going to try to get some spy baits

Listen to them they hit the nail on the head!
Try a senko with a 3/16 weight. Choose color on conditions...green pumpkin
Is this technique any good for stained water? visibility of 2 to 4 ft?
YES that's probably best.
Please make a video on flanaghan. It’s like I can’t get a fish to bite there. I need help man
I don’t fish that lake a lot I know how tough it is
Are u still fishing that tournament trail? Just curious.
I was earlier this year the championship is October.

It's incredible meeting you all. I love it I really do.
@@BassGeek let me know if your ever down at Lake Lanier in North east Georgia. Would love to meet you
Good to see ya out been a while i enjoy watching you and learning thanks my friend
Man I'm so happy to be on the water.
Add 1/8 to 1/4 tungsten weight up your line about 3ft and you can get down to them and maintain the dept the fish are in. Try it!!!
Love the video Hank! Always glad to see when you're on the water!!
Thanks I hope we gonna do more
Great shots on graphs hank. Way to give us what your looking for and at.
Thanks man I've been trying to put more content out.
I always forget the spy bait. Great bait for spots in the ozarks and I forget every season
I did today myself. Got locked in to a certain thing and it hurt
Great video. Love fishing spybaits.
Man they are becoming a staple for me
Great video, enjoy watching and I'm learning some things also
Thanks sir and thanks for the support
How’s the new trailer working for ya. Update??
Great man! I don't worry anymore at all.
Great weather this week...barely getting into the 80's...
Yeah I know It will be some nice days out on the lake.
I just got a couple spy baits, so great timing!
Awesome. Love them out deep.
If you ever decide to just want to fish some new water in ky hit me up. Wood creek lake is really good right now. Great video.

Remember low and slow. Keep the rod tip down and keep it slow.
I literally didn’t even know a spy bait was a thing until you started talking about it. I need to add some to my box
They are a great bait really shine around smallmouth but I’m finding more and more uses for them with largemouth

It's always fun to catch a bass. Dose the spy bait work well around stumps?
Yeah you just keep it just about the cover not bumping it.
