RE Classic 500 EFI Euro4 petrol tank has developed an increasingly loud rattle at certain engine revs. The buffers on my bike seem to be made of hard fibre rather than compliant rubber and they have worn after only 3,250 miles. This is how I removed the tank, what I found and, in the absence of better improved aftermarket parts, attempted to fix the problem. I might try to source some suitable compliant rubber to make new buffers in the future but this is working well for now.
Great, thank you for the video! It is a good feeling to have an idea where rattling noises may have their origins. Compared to not even having a notion.😅 Congrats for having removed another annoying noise.
What a great tip, i will look into this solution of yours on my bike. I own a 2018 Classic 500 that got 19400km on the odo by now and the bike has worked flawless all the time. Once again thanks for the tip.
I Love my 2018 Classic 500. I have only 4,800 kilometres on it now. It makes so many noises this gives me an idea where one of the noises comes from and how I can deal with it. Thank you! In my part if Canada my bike is now parked until temperatures rise to above freezing and thus safe to ride again. That means I have time to do this! Thank you!
Brilliant, thanks, mine has a real metallic rattle coming from under the tank which I need to sort. Do you have to drain fuel first before removing tank ? Thanks again very clear vid.
It makes it easier to handle the tank if if is nearly empty but it doesn't need to be completely drained. Almost a year on now and the rattle has not returned.
@@ridetheslowlane6642 Did what you did but still got rattle !! If I pull back on handlebars and squeeze tank it goes away, really annoying I can't sort it,i checked all nuts screws and anything that could rattle with tank and seat off, anyway, thanks again I now know how to remove tank and seat and will re visit problem rattle in summer as I don't have a garage.

Thank you, another addition to my knowledge of my 500 EFI. Much appreciated!

An interesting video, I have the same problem with my 500 Tribute black with 8000 miles on it.

My rattle is coming for INSIDE the tank. Any ideas?
Not had that problem (yet!)
