Very cute song! Would’ve easily been a hit in the early 90’s if she weren’t managed by that monster 😑. Incredibly catchy. A Lively, upbeat New Jack swing sound... and this is of the few songs where her vocals are paired perfectly with the beat! 10/10!!!✨
It’s really a cute song! But unfortunately Latoya Jackson had the worst management in the history of the music industry!! Her pimp husband / manager just exploited her for a quick buck and turned this sweet poor lady into a international joke !! Also Latoya never worked directly for a major record label ever In her career. She never got the attention of a powerful music executive in the industry. She was never protected from evil con men. She was never a Priority artist! She never got a big budget to record her albums ! She never got the pick of the best producers and song writers in the business. She never had a big marketing and promotion budget to really get her music out there on MTV or VH1 with a hot music video !! No sadly she has been treated like crap !! Latoya has always been signed to shitty independent record labels that all used to go bankrupt before her albums got released this song was meant to come out in 1990 but the independent record label went bankrupt!!! I hope this answers your question why Latoya never truly found success in the music industry! 😭💔
@@ST-nz4bf Part of what you say is true. In fact Jack Gordon destroy her image. But in 1980 before she even met him she signed a récord deal with Polydor thanks to her dad Joseph. And realese her first álbum "La Toya Jackson" even Michael did one of the songs (Night Time Lover) BUT the álbum didn't sell well her first single If You feel the funk which is a Bomb didn't chart and she was dropped. After that she signed with Columbia (property of Sony) and her "Heart don't lié" wasn't what they expect and the people who worked in this álbum were very known ...
@@joestreet Latoya was signed to Joe Jackson Productions, inc. she only had a weak promo & distribution deal with Polydor for her first 2 albums. Sure Latoya was signed to a subsidiary of Epic & she worked with some good people but again where was the “ Promo Dollars” ?? !!! Hearts don’t lie was a perfect light, Pop album for 15 to 25 years old Female demographic for both urban & suburban market back in 1984. I think even back then it was the constant comparison to MJ that really hurt her career. I understand Latoya wasn’t a Avent guard of pop music or pop culture. But she was quite charming especially back in 1984 !!! Latoya was very sweet & safe !! She had major potential to be a cross over star back then. It was her best year professionally imo !! Latoya was building momentum in her pop career but then she signed a record deal with private - I & she again she had a distribution deal with Epic but the label went bankrupt shortly after her imagination album’s release in 1986. Because of the record company's financial problems, the promotion was poor for the album and it failed to chart. Latoya Jackson was 29 / 30 years old at the time so really she was done !! She was too old to be a pop Star. Janet Jackson 10 years her junior became a breakout artist with her critically acclaimed 1986 control album !! So we all know what happened next don’t we ?? Poor Latoya was finished in the USA. I wonder how Latoya’s life & career would have turned out if her 1986 album imagination was promoted properly ??
Oh, yeah Oh, baby I remember when you used to call For no real reason at all Just the sound of my voice Made your heart rejoice You sent me flowers any time of day With the sweet things you used to say Lost on the way, the songs you used to play Now the good times belong to yesterday I feel as if I'm in your way And when you do show up, you hardly stay And now you get that machine to talk to me You're not keen Male voice: Hello, I'm sorry There's nobody here right now But if you like, you can leave a message right after the tone Why don't you want my love anymore Why don't you come around like before Tell me what in the world has happened to us In a time when being with me was a must I'm doing it just like before Why don't you want my love anymore I'm spending time thinking of losing your love Searching to find a thing to do But my mind is still on you I'd do anything to make you mine Can't forget you in time Not even one memory will rewind The times we had together were so fine Male voice: You can leave a message right after the tone www.coveralia.com/letras/why-don-t-you-want-my-love--la-toya-jackson.php Why don't you want my love anymore Why don't you come around like before Tell me what in the world has happened to us In a time when being with me was a must I'm doing it just like before Why don't you want my love anymore Male voice: Hello, here's a message to one and all I'm much too busy to take your call So try again, it would be much better Or if you like just write me a letter Maybe I'm not alone Who knows, I may be caught up in the twilight zone But you can stay on the telephone and leave your message right after the tone I wanna know if you wanna let me go Then please tell me so Can't you see, hanging on, baby Is nothing for me Are you moving on Did I do you wrong Now that my love is strong Is your love gone Is your love gone Tell me what in the world has happened to us In a time when being with me was a must I'm doing it just like before Why don't you want my love anymore Why don't you come around like before Why don't you want my love anymore Why don't you come around like before Why don't you want my love anymore Why don't you come around like before Why don't you want my love anymore Why don't you come around like before Why don't you want my love anymore Why don't you come around like before
Great track, why this song doesn’t any commercial success? I just I wish she had a better manager instead of jack Gordon her ex husband if Latoya had pretty decent a career by now

Oh, yeah
Oh, baby
I remember when you used to call
For no real reason at all
Just the sound of my voice
Made your heart rejoice
You sent me flowers any time of day
With the sweet things you used to say
Lost on the way, the songs you used to play
Now the good times belong to yesterday
I feel as if I'm in your way
And when you do show up, you hardly stay
And now you get that machine to talk to me
You're not keen
Male voice:
Hello, I'm sorry
There's nobody here right now
But if you like, you can leave a message right after the tone
Why don't you want my love anymore
Why don't you come around like before
Tell me what in the world has happened to us
In a time when being with me was a must
I'm doing it just like before
Why don't you want my love anymore
I'm spending time thinking of losing your love
Searching to find a thing to do
But my mind is still on you
I'd do anything to make you mine
Can't forget you in time
Not even one memory will rewind
The times we had together were so fine
Male voice:
You can leave a message right after the tone

Male voice:
Hello, here's a message to one and all
I'm much too busy to take your call
So try again, it would be much better
Or if you like just write me a letter
Maybe I'm not alone
Who knows, I may be caught up in the twilight zone
But you can stay on the telephone and leave your message right after the tone
I wanna know if you wanna let me go
Then please tell me so
Can't you see, hanging on, baby
Is nothing for me
Are you moving on
Did I do you wrong
Now that my love is strong
Is your love gone
Is your love gone
Tell me what in the world has happened to us
In a time when being with me was a must
I'm doing it just like before
Why don't you want my love anymore
Why don't you come around like before
