    Couple of things bro. 1) over the small opening at the bottom of tandoori and the storage door, what did you use as lintels? 2) for the chimney did you use something to help stagger it to get the pyramid shape? Much appreciated and it looks great mashaAllah. Well done!

    • @asifnaik
      @asifnaik  4 роки тому

      1. Bottom hole for the tandoor I used a small galvanised plate o pickup up from local DIY. The storage lintel was a piece of slate which was cut with a grinder.
      2. To stagger the chimney I used concrete lintels and slate pieces to place the bricks.

    Ok sure it wouldn’t have looked as good and may be a bit unstable and the garden would be full of beer cans but you would have given joy to 10 people by giving them work. Maybe next time you can consider it

      Hi Rizwan
      Thank you for the comments. Unfortunately I do not have them anymore, only what on the video here. I didn't put specific measurements on the drawing although it was fo scale. Also I made a few changes once I was building it.
      Best thing to do is look at what items you will want to put in eg BBQ tray and build to that spec. I used one which was 67x40cm but left a gap of 69cm to fit it in.

      Thanks for the great comments.
      Feel free to copy it, the only change I would do is use two clay pots instead of the round brick work as this will give more heat and possible use slightly smaller pots.
      I mixed the concrete from scratch used
      3 parts gravel 10mm
      3 building sand (smooth)
      1 cement
      Cementone for colour
      Vermiculite concrete
      1 cement
      1 sand

      Diameter was 50cm for the pot (top) the tandoor opening is 14inches

    I’m wanting to build something like this. How many bricks for this roughly?

    • @asifnaik
      @asifnaik  3 роки тому

      I think around 300 bricks plus around 10 concrete blocks and three concrete lintels

      Yes Tracey, just normal bricks,I decided not to use firebrick, normal will be fine for how I am using. Plus cost of fire brick was a bit much

    Great job! what did yo use for the inside of the tandoor? Is there a name for the pot or what was it made of? Thanks

    • @asifnaik
      @asifnaik  4 роки тому +2

      It was a large terracotta pot from B&Q top diameter was 50cm. I then cut the base.
      If I was to build it again I would use two of these pots, on inverted instead of bricks for the bottom. They cost around £34 each

    • @asifnaik

      Wsalam..
      I drew the plans to scale using brick dimensions. Use the tandoor measurements and the BBQ tray to set the whole scale.
      Made a couple of adjustments when I was building it.
      Hope that helps
