No I haven't used it. It would be good if you had low CH tap water coming into the pool. You could always adjust the CH as the pool is filling so you really don't need the barrel. Remember a barrel was never used in the old days and things were good so some say it's just over kill. If you have a 70 CH coming into the pool would that barrel be adding 100 ppm to the tap water as it fills. No it wouldn't. The total amount wouldn't be there until the pool is full.
