- This is the second part of my personal story of "How I met your mother..in Colombia!"
During first day in this Colombian pacific village near Buenaventura, I was all day with Diana and her family and we had a great time!
Today we decided to go, just the two of us ,on a famous pacific beach called Juanchaco!!

After traveling different countries and meeting different people and dating different girls i ve seen so many different opinions on who should pay on dates and in general who is paying for the most things insde a relationship.
In my country Greece - as I a man i always know and i want to pay for the 1st dates and i pay for the most parts inside a relationship.
When I started living in the uk 🇬🇧 or traveling in north of europe - i had many dates where the girls didn’t like my attitude and they said that’s sexist and so i went with their culture flow and i stopped offering to pay hahah.
Meanwhile in every country in Latin America the culture is similar to Greece and the man is expected to pay everything and if not - the girl won’t take him seriously.

I ve learned to be flexible and follow the flow of the culture of the country im visiting!
But if u wanna ask me my personal opinion…
Man always should pay the 1st dates and provide more in terms of money inside a relationship but the same time - i ll never give away everything from the start because i wanna personally see the attitude of a girl.
If she is humble as most of the girls that i ve dated then im happy to offer more and more ..
but sometimes some girls will try to take advantage of mans generosity and here is where im always careful!
Diana is a humble and lovely girl and i loved spending time with her.
Now when it comes to the video parts where im overacting hahah in simple things - don’t take me seriously- cause im always overreacting haha in many things in life hah!!

I think a lot of it depends on socioeconomic status. As a gringo in Mexico I would feel like a cheapass if I didn't pay for a first date when the women in Mexico have limited opportunities compared to me.

Notice how she has all those demands, a big list of what he should do, but what did she offer. She said Perhaps I cook, perhaps I'll clean. Those are negotiable answers. A good woman will be tripping over herself to make you happy, after all a man who providing for you is your means of survival.
I've met better women, affectionate, attentive, asking what they can do for you, providing sex when ever you want, wanting to make you happy. My g/f's mother even cooks food for me. that level of love and appreciation that a woman has when she cares for you is almost like an adoration, they truly are enchanted with you like a love addiction.

Dude, Diana is a keeper. She's beautiful, smart, funny and witty. Your Mama would love her. I'm not saying get married and live in a village, I'd definitely keep in touch though. Make sure to encourage her in her studies.
What if a man were to use his income to invest in said village and turn it into a booming tourist town with a growing economy? Easy to think one dimensional or lazy.

2. What is silly? Explain. Because... I said to the Western fool that romanticising rural villages where black descendants of those forced to produce their own inheritance for white slave owners over the course of 300 years and left there to rot in hell...should be helped by those with means who who travel there claiming to have morals, by investing in their communities...instead of using the fact that these people are dirt poor, to have casual sex with their teenage daughters.
The response I got was that somehow, that "investment" to attract tourists would make these impoverished villages lose their "identity".

Timmy, You're my hero! I was in that region Juanchaco y Ladrilleros like 30 yrs ago, I was a lad just like you having fun, this was back in the 90's. I really enjoy your content and your interactions with folks, it very genuine. You have the perfect attitude for Colombia, plus you're very ballsly on your own just winging it in South America. You are showing the people that this can be done in Colombia. Thanks for showing the Colombian people's true colors of friendliness, humility, and over all great spirit, I can see you're having a blast. I like that you're not afraid to go off the usual tourist path and see the real country. Since you like doing this and love Antioquia, let me suggest a small town on outskirts of Medellin called Yarumal. I visited this town when i was a teen many moons ago and remember it was a fantastic quant little town on a hill with a great atmosphere, not too many tourists and on the weekends it turns into party city full of little bars and clubs, most of all, the young women out numbered the men like 10 to 1. If it doesn't work out with Diana, Colombia is full of many options. However, I think Diana is beautiful and you and her seem to have great chemistry, I can tell she likes you a lot, plus she's from Cali! Pura Candela!! Better learn how to dance Salsa.
One more thing, shouldn't worry too much about $$$ cash or express it to a girl, Colombia is extremely economical if you do it right. Like in all countries, the male is always expected to treat on a date, especially in Colombia. You don't want to look like you're cheap, this turns off Colombian women real fast. Just watch the gold diggers and scams, they're always out there, seems like you have common sense, use your judgment and discretion of course. So many things to do in Colombia that's economical, especially away from the tourist areas.

I'm currently learning spanish, and these subtitles videos are of big help to me, aswell as an interesting look at a culture totally different than my own (northern europe). Although most of the time I am just hearing gibberish, there are words and even complete sentences which I can recognize and understand. It's quite fun!

@@ditsomusic I didn't say to rush, I said to pursue with intent. Life is very short and you don't realize how short until you hit 30's and haven't settled on anything solid. By then you have removed most of your options for the future and put others under an unnecessary time pressure. We don't live forever, and from personal experience of my nearly 70 years, I can tell you that the next 30 will go by in a blink. Life is actually very short. My mind is still 30 my body can't keep up. I am so glad that I settled when I was 27 and have 3 great kids and a loving wife to keep me company.
