A cable knit is a column of knitting that incorporates a twist in it, trying to imitate the heavy rope you would see on a ship. In no stretch of the imagination does that teapot have a cable knit in it. It looks to me like a knit stitch was worked on both the front and back of a piece, creating an impression of alternate rows of knit and purl, then turned on its side so the rows are vertical instead of horizontal. Still beautiful pottery.
Hmm... not trying to be knowledgeable, just trying to teach. Btw, the stitch I was trying to to describe is called the garter stitch. The word had escaped me for the moment. @@HUDSONVINTAGE
O, haughty knitter, swift to criticize, A needle's point aimed at a minor flaw. Thy words, like darts, did pierce the summer skies, A tempest brewed, a most tempestuous squall. But lo, a sudden shift, a twist of fate, Thy wisdom wanes, thy certainty does fade. A humble plea, a most repentant state, As knowledge dawns, a shadow o'er thee laid. So let us laugh, at such a comic sight, A master knitter, humbled and forlorn. A lesson learned, a humbling, bitter plight, A cautionary tale, from morn till morn. 😳 🤣
The Judith Jack earrings with the crystals were gorgeous. I watched 12 hours after you posted and of course went right in after the cherub. I need to be faster next time it was already sold!
Love Nevada City, used to enjoy the Victorian Christmas celebration when I lived near by. When I make it back I will have to add these thrift stores to my must see list. Great video.
That leather shirt is gorgeousness!! You never see that!!! Ever!!! Would look so cute w tights and boots as a dress with a crossbody... can be casual or dressy... such a classic staple that has so much versatility ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Dawn, that thrift store is wonderful!! Did you end up buying that velvet dress?? I guessed right on the 2 necklaces you picked out 😊 That ring is gorgeous! I've been picking out what necklaces & rings that I've bought from you to take for my upcoming trip to my Dad's. My husband says, "Don't take TOO MUCH jewelry. You're going to add more weight to the luggage." LOL 😂
Yes....if u watched the rest of the episodes she said she got the 2 dresses for a deal! That leather one was soooo cool! When she said she couldn't do 50 i was like please nooooo! She has to buy it! I'd sell that dress for no less that 250. I'd list it fir 400 for the heck of it on ebay bec its that rare and that worth it... at first b4 I saw the tag I thought it was new high end designer...that's how relevant it is....and will always be. Timeless luxury! Quality! Something that no one would have! If I had a boutique in a posh area. 500-600$ easy!❤❤❤❤
Loved the video and your finds! I have so much to get done, but I want to take a minute to tell you, whatever you are going through right now, I hope it all works out for you. ❤ I know you try to keep boundaries between much of your private life and your 'UA-cam' life, and that's a healthy thing to do. Just remember that most of us who know you through UA-cam genuinely hope the best for you.💕💞💕
I just found a teacup and saucer set in the same pattern but mine says made in the ussr on the bottom. I collect teacups, especially from "different" countries than you normally find so I had to get it!
Dawn, I bought an 8 piece set of those Russian cups and saucers in Eastern Russia in 1999. It is called the Catherine the Great pattern. At the time, you still had to buy things in government department stores. They were fairly inexpensive. I'm glad they are worth something, it was a bear bringing them home! They are beautiful and fun when people come over for tea! I guessed both necklaces-I've learned a lot from you and appreciate your knowledge and sharing it with us.
It is called Cobalt net. They are not sold in government shops. They are sold in Imperial porcelain shops found all over Russia. And these are cups are not expensive. They have MUCH more expensive items.
Did anyone call to buy that huge sterling silver ring w 3 big purple amethyst colored stones...or amethyst? Not sure what they were...but that was such a great statement ring ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi Dawn. Love your channel. I have a question about a brooch at 9:18. I noticed the center stone is rose cut and not a color match to the rest of the stones...but they look like garnets. How could you tell they were rhinestones? Normally, I can spot natural from glass but I am sure it looks different in person. I have seen closed back garnet brooches so just want to ask you for more details. The back construction looked like costume jewelry. That was my favorite and the chunky amethyst necklace.
Dawn, What size was the mystic topaz ring? And that last place that you were at was absolutely fabulous!!❤❤❤ oh, and I Guessed both of those necklaces correct That you were wanting to look at.
It's always easy to tell someone you missed this and that while shopping! 😢 were Not the one holding the camera or using our experience and knowledge while in an area with many people, noise, talking, music etc! You go and do the same thing...turn on your camera on and do what she does for 30 minutes and let's see what you accomplish! MERRY CHRISTMAS DAWN YOUR A REMARKABLE LADY ❤ GOD BLESS😊
Hey, I can't believe I found the 2 items without stopping the video. I found them on your scan. Yes I am very proud I found them right off the bat. I've taken the little challenge every time and I have fine tuned my vision to find the treasures you see, Dawn. Can't thank you enough for all you have taught me. 🫶

Hey Dawn, 🌟 Fabulous, as always. Your knowledge never fails to amaze and impress me! Love, Love, Love. 💛✌️🤗
The heavy silver and enamel pendant rings a bell but I can't think from where. Maybe Scandinavian?

Lomonosov is really high end Russian porcelain. Too bad it is not a full set. There are supposed to be at least six tea cups.
I think Danni was looking for the cups and saucers for her teapot

The construction of the back, and the prongs, and seeing the same stones many times in similar pins that I know to be glass 😊

Hi, those beads don't look "old" Venetian glass but let us know because I have a ton of them, lol!
