Apple's marketing people really have a good taste in music.
Yeah
And this isnt the first time, literally look at most of apples adverts with music in and its beautiful. The people have such fucking style
@@januarybaby1063 I really loved their reveal trailer of the iPhone X last year.
True
You said it !
Getting an airing by Apple was great but I agree with others this needs to be opening titles of next James Bond!
You are so right lmao!!!!!!!!

Been saying that since portishead did this beat
most expensive song I've ever heard💰
Takes me back to 007, so much creativity 😊
I've never seen anyone cover Portishead version which was sampled of Isaac Hayes. This is fresh. Heard it live at TidalX last night. Well done !
Where is MORE of this jam...can't find anything like this on ur selection...full flash back revival.sooo good
I really love it❤❤❤......Yes In 2019
Nothing burns like the cold
Much love from Brazil

Sounds like Hooverphonic
Is anyone listening to this on an iPhone Xs?
it's like James Bond n Amy winehouse n mfdoom
lo
got together and made a song
oh yessssss
sample _ portishead
This reminds me of a slightlyuptempo Portishead "Only You"
For my portishead fans, this song just reminds me a mix of glory box and only you
dont tell that to the millennials or gen Z they think nothing cool existed before they came along.
I was never a fan but liked that song way back. Thanks for confirming it was Portishead
Portishead fan from way back. Found this song randomly scrolling through Instagram. Stunning! ❤
Exactly..
And tricky - hell is behind the corner
How am I only finding this masterpiece NOW??🥵🥵🥵
Try listening to “portishead” if you don’t know about. Yw
If you love this, go listen to where this was sampled from. Portishead albums Dummy(1994) and self-titled(1997). You can literally listen to each of those albums from front to back and not have to skip a single song. Magic ✨
@@chrise.851 or Isaac Hayes, the original
Better late than never ❤🎉🎉🎉lovely vibe
This song is brasilian song sample, search for "Jorge da Capadócia" from racionais mc's and enjoy
This would be an incredible song and title for a James Bond film opening titles sequence
007 written all over it. 🙂
yes man i thought the same, or intro music for a dangerous errotical HBO series
literally what i've been thinking whenever listening to this song for the past few days
When I first heard it from apple
I thought it was a James Bond song
It would be the original
Now we’re gonna see a lot of iPhone Xs (Max) comments!
I fuckin know
It sucks because her entire album was good and deserves attention for the entire album not just 1 track
Ikr
Yep that's why I'm here
Yeah
@@rikkufan009 yup same i knew the portishead version but this is much better
I heard this sample in tracks like:
Tricky - Hell is around the corner
Alessia Cara - Here
Portishead - Glory box
Sylvia Howard "I wanna go Somewhere"
Thank you, I was trying to place the sample and thought it might of been pulled off from Morcheeba’s Big Calm, but yup, Portishead! Damn I miss the 90’s triphop!
Only you - Portishead
Yeah i thought I recognized it from Portishead, that the commercial was just a remix of that song
From the iphone trailer i thought it was alessia cara- here
Very smooth vocals. Love the style of her singing. Sexy classy...pleasing to the ears. Beautiful.
❤😂
Portishead anyone?
yes portishead brought me here. Glorybox is a good song
Didn’t bring me here but now I have to go listen to my portishead station
Glory box 🖤
Isaac Hayes...
Portishead Fo’Sho
This song has that sexy Bond vibe for some reason.
Barbara Broccoli and Eon Productions, call Snoh now.
Lj you darn right it does and I love it
Yes
Marylin Monroe vibe
what genre would you say this is? it's kinda jazz/blues but it ain't
This is the kind of music that needs to be on the radio.
came here thru FG.Chic!
This is just real.
It was on the radio back in the 90s when Portishead released the song.
Daydream is what this reminds me of
@@ricktyman4709 and again when Tricky released Hell's around the corner feat. Portishead, and again im 2015 when Alessia Cara released Here.
This is very reminiscent of Portishead's "Glory Box." The high end melody, the beat, and the syncopated scratches are almost identical. It feels very much like they wanted to use Portishead's track, but couldn't, so they made a similar instrumental.
It's definitely good. I'll be watching for more from this artist.
i would imagine they sampled the same Isaac Hayes song just like Portishead and Tricky did - look up Isaac Hayes - Ike's Rap 2 and enjoy the original x
It’s reminiscent because she is sampling Portishead…
@@aruytpadyugf No, Portishead, Tricky, Alessia Cara all sampled Isaac Hayes' Ike's Rap II. That's where it came from.
Its sampled!
She Sampled Portishead's Glory Box and there nothing wrong with that. I love both versions ! Good music! She has given me a "reason to love" this melody even more!

Same
@Crooked Skate Supply Co I should too
So they paid Portishead twice right?
This song makes me feel like I’m in the opening of an action movie, wearing all black, looking very expensive. I’ve just killed a man, and I’m walking in slow motion lmaoo. And there’s a fire burning behind me. Why am I weird lmao.
Brilliant
thats not weird its just cool
it brilliant
@ Indie Bish,😂😂😂 baby Cherub! That’s was a mean and cool visual!! Bond ! Indie Bond!😂
Ok indie bish 🤪👍
This truly sounds like they listened to Portishead's "Glory Box" and then "Only You" right beforehand. 😅
Keichi Hiru absolutely ripped it off more like!!!!
Jackie Landry more like sampled given that Glory Box was sampled from Ike’s Rap
Shaniyah Matthew they stole the portishead sample, you can hear the exact same turntable scratch in the sample and the strings and guitar that portishead added. Its stealing not sampling.
''Tricky - Hell is round the corner'' this too
@Thornback To be fair, Portishead sampled it 26 years after The Wallace Collection gave it to us in 1968 with their track "Daydream" but i share your frustration ;)
I swear I thought I was listening to some Portishead reprise
This song is so massively under rated - the production to vocals are pure perfection
Good music is only to be found by those that seek it ...

@@laceylove9625 thank you so much!
She has potential to be Amy Winehouse level (and dont say she is bc Amy was hot way before Americans got a whiff of her).... Let's go Snoh!!
I was never a fan of Amy. Just not my type of music. This however is pure perfection..
Sounds more like a generic modern female singer to me. The only potential I can see for her are many collaborations with mediocre EDM producers from which they don't get any royalty.
And the bloke who audaciously added lacklustre rap to the mix does not seem to have any potential. He is one of oh too many rap artists out there who sound all alike. Nah, I'll stick with REAL Bristol sound.
@@wendigockel You've never even listened to Vince's portfolio. he sounds nothing like mainstream rap today.
Pop Off okay fine, probably he doesn't. Yet I am not really interested in listening to him. I just think that trip hop/ Bristol sound has gone the extra mile to not rely on, or even exclude rap lyrics from its way of artistic self-expression. I understand that rap lyrics are part of the contemporary zeitgeist of music industry, however I appreciate trip hop for it not changing too much of its identity over time. I value your comment. Thank you and have a good one!
She sounds like Beth Gibbons, the singer of Portishead... because she's trying to sound like Portishead. You know how I know? Because this song samples 2 of the songs Portishead also sampled.
James Bond vibes
Everyone talking about apple I came from 6 underground
Sounds like glory box from portishead..

Concordo
[Snoh Aalegra:]
Can we talk about us
Like we care about us?
Can we talk about love
Like we care about love?
You say let it breathe
But this pain in my heart can't let it be
If we both can't agree
Then tell me what is the point of...
Nothing burns like the cold (ay, ay)
Can we talk about us
Like we care about us?
Can we talk about love
Like we care about love?
We can't let it be
'Cause we live in a time of make-believe
We both can agree
That we're reachin' the point of...
Nothing burns like the cold (ay, ay)
[Vince Staples:]
Good mornin', darlin'
I see you fallin'
In and out of love
Is it because you're cold and heartless?
Or is it our withdrawals?
Forgotten how to be a part of
That final scene in Casablanca
I guess the heart is like a time bomb
No white horse for you to ride on
Bygones be bygones
My God, you're beautiful
If it was two of you
Prolly break the first one's heart in two
But second time's a charm
I had a dream you locked your father's arm
And moseyed down the aisleway
I know you prolly had a wild day
So you should make your way to my place
And we can talk about the things you wanna talk about
[Snoh Aalegra:]
You know, I know
You know, yeah you
You know, I know
You know
Nothing burns like the cold (ay, ay)
Nothing burns like the cold (ay, ay)
Nothing burns like the cold (ay, ay)
They say nothing burns like the cold
I get, get, get
Get, I get...

why do people in the comments keep on saying she sampled this from Portishead when they all sampled this from Isaac Hayes?? portishead, snoh, Alessia Cara, etc sampled Isaac’s song “Ike’s Rap ll”
Because Artiste...you don't realize that its a stylistic mashup of 2 Portishead songs to include live strings, base and turntables. Yes, the foundation melody is from Issac Hayes, but artistically and stylistically, "Nothing Burns Like the Cold," is not different enough from Portishead two cuts - from delivery, timing, key, the record scratching and even the choice of microphone. The final cut is too similar to go unnoticed. Don't take "people"'s word for it though, I'll include links so you can judge for yourself. Probably not her fault, but her producers should know better. Portishead's "Glory Box," (ua-cam.com/video/MnMTK8EdsOc/v-deo.html) ---peep the turntables "Only You" (ua-cam.com/video/4cIiyfSZfzs/v-deo.html) again, peep the turntables. They copied and didn't give credit and it sucks. The fans noticed. It is what it is.
Its clearly sampled from Portisheah(the turntables a big give away) which Portishead sampled Ike’s Rap ll
Yeahaboutthat Though's comment should be the first to appear. Everybody must know that.
Awesome...never knew that was the original sample Portishead used. This song though sampled Portishead (turntable scratching)
Because it's the same genre trip-good and it's almost a complete copy. ua-cam.com/video/XO55bU45-3I/v-deo.html
This is proof, that music industry, like movie industry, cant produce new ideas and have to dig the good old classic in order to create something good...
Jorge da Capadócia - Racionais Mcs
How is this not portishead??

The amount of views does no justice to the amount of times replayed... just saying
*Apple commercial brought me here. As soon as I heard this song i knew that i had to hear it again. It's beautiful from start to finish. The visuals are impressive as well*
Then perhaps you should listen to some Portishead. Specifically, Glory Box. Then have a real treat and look up their Roseland concert which is posted from start to finish on the youtubes.
