6:18 My favourite part of the Hobbit soundtrack, and it's right at the very beginning of the first film. It's like the music is saying "Welcome back to Middle Earth."
The first time I watched The Hobbit, I almost shed a tear. The nostalgia was too strong when I heard the shire theme. I just couldn't believe I was coming back to the world of Middle-Earth.
This man is a legend, his sound in Lord of the Rings & The Hobbit movies is full of life. It's a composition of happiness, sadness & terror. Howard Shore is a Legend.
This was so touching for me. I don’t know why but it made me cry happy tears. Howard Shore is a legend and just when I listen to the Soundtrack, I know what is happening and the Movie plays in my head. I really really love what he created. It is bloody amazing. I’ve watched The Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit so many Times that I know who says what at what time, but the movies and the music never gets boring. I also love how many feelings he can create with this music. I really feel it and it’s amazing. Thank you so much Peter Jackson for those incredible Movies nad thank you Howard Shore for the amazing soundtrack! These two and Tolkien of course are legends!
Howard is a master .. not just movie music but in pure orchestral and cello concerts as well .. Also he is great with the electronic sound as in The Fly , The Silence of the Lambs .. Then seven was a bit different.. Then all his films with Scorcese are all of different kind //
What can be said that in anyway changes what we feel and hear when listening to this music. Anyone who has written has their own reasons for doing so but 99% will all say that it is an exspression of what see and feel given the sights and and the reason for the sights. For me it was the simplicity of the opening veiw of this movie, a peaceful almost childlike enjoymement of all that is simple, enjoyable and collectfully family like that living in a small country village brings with it. I was always surprised to see the way that this movie went over the heads of so many of the younger ones who watched it, simply because they have never had the chance to sit under the branches of a tree, enjoying the warmths and shade of a summers day with an interesting book and an apple to munch on, and the music takes you there straight away. For those involved with music will all know, you have just got it right when it tugs at the heart strings. Someone once said, if ever you want to write meaningful music, just take a look back at your life and the events within it, there is a piece of music right there, how true that turned out to be. This movie and its music is a master piece of this work at its very best from the first note to the very end, i doubt that i will ever hear anything so touching for a very long time, thank you very much for videoing this preperation.
I'm really sad they didn't feature the French Horn a lot more. I feel like it was an integral part of the soundtrack and I only heard it's feature once and they filmed them for 5 seconds max. As a high school french horn player I watch movies SPECIFICALLY to hear the horn and I love listening to this score. Just wish I could've seen more.
Howard is Canadian and Canada is basically the worlds best friend. Just like how the hobbits and their way of life is just peace and tranquility, just like Canada. Canada = Middle earth confirmed
All this stuff is good and dandy. But he, nor will anyone else improve upon his works for the original trilogy. His soundtracks for those films fit each and every scene and have really sculpted the way we watch the stories. It is better than anything Williams, Elfman, or Zimmer has ever done. And believe me, I love those guys. They are probably better in whole, but Shore doing LOTR trumps everything as far as soundtracks go.
Considering how Peter Jackson had almost no pre-production, and was being rushed and pushed around by three studios, I amazed that he was able to make anything cohirant at all.
aura nelly monter cabrera sit in the lonely chair ... LOTR fans have got 6 language choirs unlike SW which has a at maximum 10 themes in the original and 6 more in the prequels.. The Hobbit 2 alone has 19 themes :P
Howard Shore is a legendary composer who will go into the history books as the man who transformed Tolkien's world into music.

What a cool, creative musical dude Mr. Shore is. He knows how to make melodies that really stick in your head for a long time.

Howard Shore and Alan Silvestri are the legends in giving us chills and goosebumps watching movies because of their musical genius
Interesting that film composers have their favourite bands. Mr Shore has a long term r'ship with the LPO and Mr Wlliams uses the LSO.
What a brilliant composer.
What an absolute genius. Also, he ever so slightly reminds me of Fred Armisen, sort of by looks, but mostly by his mannerisms and way of speaking.
Thank you Mr. Howard Shore for the music you have gifted us through these movies. They truly live on :')

this awesome, i really love Howard Shore now!
Today I got to do a similar thing but in a smaller scale for a smaller movie. I'll still dream about being in this orchestra. :')
Please come back for the Amazon Series! If it's any good, that is..
It is not.

he seemed like he was with Tolkin when the book was being written. It seemed me that Tolkin har ordered him to create this kind of music. Bravo

I kinda agree, but I do absolutely love Shore's "Dwarf Charge" fight music from The Hobbit. I think it's his ballsiest, rousing piece.
completely agree.
headslo your opinion and that's fine. There are several other scores I'd take ahead of LOTR, but that's what opinions are for
Add "imo" to this and you're bang on, but trying to state this shit objectively is nonsense.
Schindler's List trumps LOTR as pure artistry.
❤
The sound of the LPO and Shore's handwritten orchestrations are missed in the latter two films.
How many musicians are in the London philharmonic orchestra during this scoring session/recording?
best soundtack
Does anyone know if the manuscript paper Howard Shore uses with the SMPE code is available anywhere?
Really poorly made video, but luckily the content makes it interesting enough to watch! Very awesome!
I personally like the hobbit soundtracks more than LOTR.
0:00 is this also a part of the soundtrack? If so, in which track can you listen to it?
its called Dreaming of Bag End
Dreaming of bag end. beautiful track
❤️️❤️️
he looks like hes having a stroke as the conductor lol
what are this headphones that he is wearing? AKG but whtich one? sorry for english
Without Howar Shore LOTR would not be the same
What's the song at 2:50?
1 troll was here ;)-
2018 april
Tolkien would have approved.
Less than 200 views! DISGRACE

Too bad the movie couldn't match the brilliance of Howard Shore's music.
Considering how Peter Jackson had almost no pre-production, and was being rushed and pushed around by three studios, I amazed that he was able to make anything cohirant at all.
@@KlingonCaptain I agree. But the Hobbit was too short to be a trilogy, it should have been made as one or maximum two movies.
@E. O. Agreed.
The original trilogy was good, this other works hare the worst compositions on his career. No one can make something better than Star wars.
ok
