Did he say that? I saw his video and it seems like he's saying that artists opinions don't affect whether or not the consumer will buy it. basically "if its a good product (whether AI or not), consumers will buy it). he wasn't making a moral argument, but an objective statement.
To me, it reminds me of how people misconstrued Hasan when he said russia wouldn't invade ukraine. people thought he was covering for putin, but he wasn't. 🤷♀

If anything I think the artist opinion matters more than some talentless guy who accepts badly done art, and that's my objective statement. the big difference between Hasan and Asmon' situations is at least Hasan owned up and apologized for what he said

When people get confused about something new and creative, they don’t understand and thus they ridicule it. Mr. Gold took the capitalist route, which he isn’t necessarily wrong for. But without artist, of whom 99.99% will forever be underpaid and seen as lesser due to the ignorance of people who only care to consume. Mr. Gold is a great example of this. He has very little skills and most of his content is either drama with his opinion, or reaction content with his opinion. What he doesn’t understand is that artists who work in their skills daily, spending thousands of hours to creativity and making art, are laughing at him because he clearly doesn’t understand both sides, because no artist would ever say that. One look at Mr. Gold and you can tell his opinion isn’t worth much, which is why artists found it funny that a man such as himself would be infinitely more popular by sharing slop-garbage opinions about areas he knows nothing about. Hence Twitter correcting him. He took offense thinking he was “Cancelled”, when really he had a really bad take that he got called out for, then immediately spent 2 hours wasting all our time.
That’s basically the situation in a nutshell.

Everyone is so idiotic. He’s not saying he personally doesn’t give a shit about artist opinions, he’s saying that the reality is people care more about the product than how it was created.
I mean, Asmon is correct. The average consumer doesn’t care. They don’t care about a lot of ethical quandaries regarding all sorts of products. Ergo, since companies only care about money, how problems are fixed is with one’s wallet.
The problem I think is that he specifically didn’t mention if HE cared. He’s not an average consumer. He’s exposed to many things the average 9-5 guy would never have heard of. He knows all of this. He should himself care, and should state that he cares.
He phrased what he meant awfully and had to clarify it here.
