I live in Texas, US, but I've researched my paternal lineage back to the Hull family of Crewkerne, Somerset, England who were parishioners of St. Bartholomew's Parish just before it became property of the crown. They became of the Puritan faith and came to the American colonies. My many greats-grandfather was a landowner there and he was baptized in the Parish with his godfather Sir William Sherewell.
Great video. Talented kids!I was a 12 year old American boy when my family lived in Hinton St George, back in 1982[Due to my Father's job]. And I lived there 6 months and went to school at Maidenbeach School, in Crewkerne .I can honestly and sincerely say that my classmates were some of the nicest people that I ever met. They were incredibly kind to me. Im 47 years old now.But still have fond memories of Crewekerne. And I was extremely sad when my family moved back to America. It was the best 6 months of my childhoodI can see how a young person might be bored there[I seem to recall that one of the main activities was going out at night and riding on the backs of the rams in the fields of the farms] But it also was an area of incredibly kind people. And its hard to place a value on that
And as a fellow former resident of the secret splendour that is H.St. George, I can wholeheartedly concur. What a place for an american kid to be. Full on stereotypical image of England that the world seems to have. Lucky buggers, eh‽
Good to see feedback from Crewkerne Youth, interesting to note how long ago it was made and the steps seen since. With the forming of Crewkerne Youth Council it is really the time to get the younger generation heard! They are looking for members aged 11-18 to make decisions for future youth projects!
