This is misleading. The main reason that there are so many knock outs is because you're not allowed to punch in the face. Since your opponent is not expecting a punch to the face he (and most every kyokushin fighter in this video) keeps his hands very low, so when a kick does finally come after a barrage of body shots of course he's not prepared to block it; he's been keeping his hands shoulder level the whole time. If they were allowed to punch to the face, trust me those flying axe kicks and round houses would not land as often.
The main reason that there are so many ko is because this video is a compilation of ko.

Mas Oyama banned punches to the face because he killed a man, Karate has a lot of killing techniques right to the face.
If we were our guard high, ribs would be broken in every fight, that's what happens when a noob kickboxer does Kyokushin, guard has to be in a balance.
