Today's match was incredible. I was resigned to see her exit when she was match points down. And then the rollercoaster tiebreaker! Couldn't believe that she turned the match around. That's legends level of a Houdini act!
I saw her mother pray and decided to chip in my prayers for her to win too and the game turned around in her favor and she won! I realized God Almighty had answered my prayer according to my desire for Coco's winning and now I remembered to pray again and this time I was giving our Heavenly Father my gratitude and thanks for making our little sister win. I'm still in awe of a Cori that is only 15 years-old, but has the level of mental clarity that is way way beyond her age. Her tennis is super fine for her age; but the clarity of mind, composure, court-awareness and confidence are off the charts.
Watching her play last night was more tensed than watching my favorite soccer team in final. As Polona Hercog said in her press conference, Coco may be 15 but her mindset is 5 years+ than her age, making way ahead of most female players in that range. She has a spirit of champions. Now I do not know how far she will go in this tournament, but I know one thing: no matter the outcome, to me, she should consider herself as a winner! She has earned it!
