I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to finally do a VK cover! This is also my first acoustic arrangement, but I’m really happy with how it turned out!
I was excited at the idea of covering this song, since Uroboros was the newest Diru album back when I first became a fan and it’s always had a special place in my heart. My original idea was to basically arrange Ideal in the style of “Moment” by the GazettE, but it ended up becoming its own thing along the way. I’m usually terrible at mixing voices other than my own, but Rose’s absolutely INCREDIBLE performance really inspired me to get the best result I could.

This is actually the first time I did a music collaboration with a friend first rather than meeting them through music! I've always known Toast was incredible at guitar AND on production so I had always wanted to work on something together 👀
When I heard this song I knew that this piece deserved an acoustic treatment... I reached out to Toast and he said this was the first acoustic arrangement he's ever done but like HELLOOOO???? WHAT IS THIS GENIUSNESS??? He's such a visionary and was able to turn this arrangement ouuuttt! It's literally so awesome I wish Dir would use it tbh lol. I had just sent him some inspiration and he returned to me with this incredible instrumental that I just went batshit laying vocals on. My vocals turned out to be 13 tracks lmfao oops sorry about that Toast. 🙇🏻♂️

Toast also sings himself AND produces so I highly recommend you guys check out his channel @CasualToastChannel. If you like visual kei and j-rock, he's very versed in the sound (and look!) and you can definitely pick it up in his creations.
We'd been working on this since the beginning of the year but we happened to wrap it up around the same time as #PHALARIS came out, how exciting is that!!!
