- A momentous day for the community of Mossend and Bellshill as a statue was unveiled by Liz McNeill and family of the late great Billy McNeill Celtic's greatest ever captain. What a day!

A Celtic Legend, a Gentleman, what else can I say that's already been said you were the bestr Captain, celtic ever had I'm a Rangers fan and to think ceaser, jinky,berti, Walter Davie Cooper sandy Jardine , wim jansen are gone May God take care of you truly wonderful legends 💙 🇬🇧🤝🇮🇪
At the top of the tree in Celtic history has to be Brother Walfrid , Jock Stein , Willie Maley , Jimmy McGrory , Jinky , Billy McNeill , Henrik and Bobby Murdoch, but Billy by a huge distance was our greatest ever Captain , what a statue RICHLY deserved 🇮🇪🇮🇪☘️☘️
YNWA billy , his wife liz is a real diamond of a lady aswell , had the privilege to meet her in the southern general when billy was really unwell , had a really nice chat with her and gave billy a cuddle , a really humbling time for me.🏴🍀🇮🇪
Beautiful statue for a beautiful man . I hope it gets the respect he deserves 🙏

I've seen it it's a great statue of a great man. Wee Jimmy's statue is just two miles doon the road in viewpark were he was brought up.

Billy was my family friend. He grew up in my hometown and made his early sacraments at my parish, we t to my school. I interviewed him in 2009. Our connections were deep
Who can forget the photograph of Billy and Mo Johnson big bills face all flushed with the whisky only for Mo to turn up at Ibrox the next day 😂but in all seriousness dementia is a terrible disease and I don't think family in Scotland hasn't been touched by it happy trails billy
