A little maintenance for your maintenance! Nice fix - once again I always enjoy seeing you fix something rather than trash it and get a new (disposable) one. Cheers!
You have to be in the business to have used them much. One of the innovations that we never thought of was pulling a rag tied to a string through with a vacuum cleaner. Then using the string to pull a rope to pull the wire with. 😀😎
Thoes tools that hold there value in memories are some of the best! I wish I got to keep more of my grandpa's tools myself but I hold solice knowing the people why were at the sale were neighbors and valued thoes old tools as much as he did. I actually never have repaired a fishtape before. I knew how they worked inside because a few have blown up before but never has been cost effective to do so. I'm so glad that works still and if it's any constellation at times we have dunked the tapes in machine oil to de rust them. These days as time goes on they use fiberglass then now a new polymer silcone blend. They are much easier to work with as such things tend to be but will never be as strong as that spring steel tape. I've had to find blockages in many conduit before and it's been a steel fish tape someone just cut off and left for thr next person to deal with. Don't be that person 😆 😤. Next time you can fill up the casing with evaprorust let it sit then compressed air it all out then oil it up if you don't feel like taking it apart. Keep up the good work 👏
Too bad someone breaks the tape and leaves it. Just cut the conduit and pull out the broken piece. Coupling, junction box, pull box, or a union and you are back in business.
That was easy enough and with a little oil to boot. Brother-in-law got all mydads stuff. I got a mower and that was it. I was bvurning diesel pretty heavy then and was getting set up for myself so that was that. Still is. Be careful and God Bless Yall
Nice to have family tools and still use them. You Dad I think would love his tools being used. We are always praying for you and Lydia 🙏🙏🙏
He wanted me to have them so they wouldn't be stolen or sold.
I have used his tools for many years.
That bit of oil is a good trick to get that fish-tape to go in and out easy. Good repair. Your father is proud of you for sure…..CHEERS

I like using Dad's tools.
I also like saving money. Best is showing others they can too.
One of those things you only use a few times but really come in handy. 😃👍

I was gonna say I don't have one but then again I think someone gave me one so I might have one somewhere.
You only need it when you need it.
