Hi. I have to do this. I've been looking and I find only the mais gasket or the kit with main seal and a lot of round seals, what are those little round seals for? should i buy the set or just the main seal? Thanks
@@abuzar1 thanks for the help i will buy this then. I see more videos and the other little o-rins seems to be to replace the gasket screw of valve cover.
Done all the process, everythink ok until reconnect the battery. Now say "initializing... Wait to shift" and the car Turn on, but on D or R dont do nothing...
@@HenriquePedroRocha That’s usually a message you get when your main battery is faulty. Only way I’ve ever gotten around that message is by having the GM SPS2 reprogramming tool and reprogramming the HPCM2.
@@abuzar1 I just reqatched your video and saw you scraped it off, it makes sense. I'm at the store buying it now. Thank you! What kinds of sockets did you use? An e10 and a torx t30?
@@redx11x I have a lot of volts so they’ve all had different issues. Valve cover gaskets, coolant leaks in different places, main battery died, charging port stopped working, water pump went out, passenger seat sensor failed in multiple cars, abs wheel speed sensor went bad. There is some coolant switching valve that I’ve had to replace. Charging door sticks in multiple cars. I’ve had to replace AC blower fan in one car. There might be more but that’s the major stuff
@@abuzar1 i jump started a friends dead BMW and now my engine sounds rough, almost like a misfire. I can smell petrol from the exhaust. Great tutorial. Just swapped the gasket on my dad’s volt. I believe that’s where his slow oil leak was coming from.
Did it work?
Thanks for the video. I appreciate your work. Thank you from Portugal
I appreciate your video greatly! I am trying to replace a valve cover for a 2017 volt and they are impossible to find.
Valve cover or valve cover gasket?
@@abuzar1did you replace the bolts chevy says I should
@@ryandrayton2223 no I didn’t
would anyone recommend this as a used car? apparently 2011-2012 models are not as reliable as the 2013-2015 models is that true?

Is the silicone necessary? I thought that was what the gasket was for?
It helps at the edges. I would 100% use.

@@cheeriomartinez Yep you got it
What was wrong with the car that made you change it?
Leaking oil around valve cover and smoking on exhaust.
