Just got 8 Braham babies. Should all be female. Have raised chickens for 6 plus years. Braham's are new to our flock. We are very excited to raise our new babies. Thank you for such an informative video!
I do to but he's a sweetheart to me, but will crow anytime a stranger comes on the property (everyone but me is a "stranger") and he will stalk and attack them when on "his" property, which suits me fine, because I don't like people much and it's fun to see the Amazon/Fedex/UPS delivery guy run with terror after delivering a package.
I have Light Brahma hens and am quite impressed with them. They lay large eggs(some double yokes). They lay pretty good.(200 eggs a year).I got mine from Mt. Healthy Hatchery. They gain weight quicker than my Jersey Giants.
7:27 - What a gorgeous coloring, wow! Everything under the rainbow. I love this chicken coloring. The main concern I have with this breed is the feathered foot. Too much poop clinging to the feathers and constant cleaning. I prefer bare feet where you can spot lice and diseases right away and easy to clean.
I have one Gray Brahma hen, she is about 10 months old. But everyone picks on her. She lays the smallest egg of all my chicken, but the are a pretty pink, so i welcome them to our egg basket!
Great stuff, had a small flock a few years back of Cochin's but had to give them up to a move unfortunately. Considering a new flock when I move again and am intrigued with the Brahma and Jersey Giants. Very informative video!
So are they famous for the number of eggs they make & is there other colors of the Jersey Giant other than black & another white and likewise , do you know if they are quiet & friendly as well ?.
Got 6 barnyard mix a while ago the lady told me i had 2 lavender orpington, 2 black cochin and 2 black brahmas.turn out i got 1 lavender orp and 1 lavender orp rooster 2 easter egger instead of cochins and my supposed brahmas havent any feathers on their legs so... what are they ,i dont care what's the race as long as i get my eggs it 's more for care
I have one hen and 3 roos that are 7 months old. My hen started laying last month. I feed them crumble but also give treats like tomatoes, strawberries, cucumbers, watermelon, etc. I also keep my egg shells and crumble them up and mix in with their feed
I have 2 hens and a rooster ! My rooster is very timid and gets picked on by my Luther rooster. Not sure his breed but same color as the light with no leg feathers.
Very nice presentation thank you. If I could add my two cents worth my little flock over the years has become a mixture of everything but when I had the pure brahmas they were very nice to have. I've never seen too many bad roosters of any kind and I've always gotten along with them all those sometimes like my daughters and granddaughter and took a bit of Torment but they soon tuned in the roosters. I do believe though that any chicken no matter what breed it is if it's taken care of properly with food water and of course warmth in the winter you'll get along just fine with them but I will tell you this it's not a money-making proposition it's going to cost you money but the satisfaction of a little hobby is hard to beat
You are showing some cochens look alot alike the brahma are better lauers. The cochen is beautiful and huge too but very brudy but the brahma lay much better. My kids loves them packs them around
I have 4 brahma hens and two rhode island red roosters plus 6 red hens...i am waiting to see if the roosters willfather chicks from the brahma females.....i would love to cross brahmas with jersey giants.....my chickens are all my pets no table food only eggs ...i dont eat pets....
We just received our babies. 9 days old. 4 came. 3 made it. 1 has splayed legs. Bad breeder. Gunna love them so much anyways. Feel bad I supported such a business but stuff happens. They're doing very well. I might see a bit of rooster in one of their faces so far... ho boy... biggggg boy. Hope not 😅
Hi, I am pretty impressed by your explanation. However, I want a sexed breed of Brahma chicken and how much will it cost me to arrive In Nigeria. Thanks
Hahah I try to keep it from happening too often but it does still happen. I have a pretty basic setup it takes seconds for me to start recording, maybe I will in the near future.
Great video and very informative. Not sure youre aware theres an audio cut at the dark brahama section for about a minute.

They are and awesome breed.
Mine sit on my lap or shoulders like a big overgrown parrot.
They run to me and follow me wherever I go.
I’m getting 6 buff Brahmas in May I can’t wait
Can they seat on their eggs and hatch them
My buff Brahma hen acts like a T-Rex and does not like interacting with me much. She is quite comical to watch though 😊
I love my brahmas.
We just got Brahma chics😊
What would be the best food to bulk up these hens?
I got 2 the other day wow they are big
Do you own any of those pure black chickens that even have black bones and flesh? Those just blew my mind when I saw a video on them! 😯😁👍

I can't find " Coaching bird chickens " anywhere on youtube to see what they are about and look like . Did I spell it wrong or heard it wrong ?.
Never mind . Lol. It is spelled " Cochin " , I just found out .
I have 2 hens and a rooster ! My rooster is very timid and gets picked on by my Luther rooster. Not sure his breed but same color as the light with no leg feathers.
there were 2 ancient breeds the shanghai and the Chittagong that are the ancesters to just about all the large breeds.
So there was no actual video of the chickens ?

At what age approx. Dobrahma hensaccept mating,
Have 4 buff brahma hens about 5 mos old now. Very friendly, unsure if they are laying as I have numerous brown layers. Not unhappy with them.
Our chickens lay eggs so big it only takes ten to make a dozen...
I want this Breed
My brahma girls & the brahma rooster are doing great 👍 we raise jersey giants and brahmas
I have 4 brahma hens and two rhode island red roosters plus 6 red hens...i am waiting to see if the roosters willfather chicks from the brahma females.....i would love to cross brahmas with jersey giants.....my chickens are all my pets no table food only eggs ...i dont eat pets....
I hear ya! Let us know if you successfully cross the two. I have seen some people do it successfully on forums
Time and time again, your footage of these birds stops just short of showing their legs all the way down to, and including, their claws.
Why so?
We added a buff Braham and 2 light Brahams this year.
But I'm worried about winter weather with them
@@mkayweber3739i was
told they are winter hardy but you have to be careful with their feet
