I bought both the Garmin and new LX and have 1 range session along side the Magnetospeed. I love my Magnetospeed, but such a hassle especially if changing firearms. Thus why I took the plunge. I figured one would stand out and I could sell or gift the other. I was wrong thinking one would stand out. They both have their pluses and are great units. I like the compactness and ease of use with the Garmin, but like the screen, aluminum body and app of the Labradar. The garmin app looks nice but syncing is best done after your shooting session, as it requires you to disconnect and reconnect to display data. The labradar app stays connected and shows your shots in real time and allows you to change settings, arm and dis arm etc from your phone, which I like. The garmin is a tad easier to navigate on the unit itself so if you don't care about app functions that is probably the winner. I love that both units have internal rechargeable LI po batteries no more carrying CR 123 or 9 volts. The data: Labradar seems to be showing about 10-15 fps slower than the Garmin and Magnetospeed. Now that really is not much and less than .1%. The SD and ES were pretty much right on with all units and to me, that is the most important. overall I believe both units are winners over the old big, bulky original Labradar as both units fit in a small camera case or even a cut out in your rifle case.
I had their original Labradar. Was a PITA to use, and after many tries to love it, I sold it. They need to show this in use before I trust them with any of my money. Garmin is the winner in the chronograph market today. LR is playing catch up.
I would like to see a comparison between this version and the Garmin. I was getting ready to purchase the Garmin in the next few months. I have the original LabRadar was not impressed on the software side as far as connectivity and other issues, but the unit worked just would like a smaller version but not if I’m going to be subjected to the same issues hopefully it’s fixed in this smaller package.
Just sold my garmin and ordered an LX!! Not sure what people's problem was with the labradar, especially comparing to what was out there before. I had mine for about 5 years and next to no problems. Thought I'll get the garmin, feels like my grandchildrens toys. Sold it and ordered the LX!! If it works as good as the big unit I'll be more than happy.
Just ordered my Garmin. My Labradar still loses connection after the software update. It also misses two of five shots with the mic on it for suppressed 22 rimfire. Very disappointed. I don't know how many times, when working up a load that it has missed shots. The video I just watched on another channel showed multiple calibers being 100% , even with 5000 fps 22 cal. every time on the Garmin
I bought the Garmin. Buddy got this one and it will miss the occasional shot, especially with the small calibers like .17 and .20 cal. Other friend had the Garmin and it picked up every shot.
LabRadar have sold their customers out! There are still serious software glitches with the LabRadar and the LabRadar Application. LabRadar need to support those customers who supported them and get the LabRadar Application fixed. Would I buy a new LabRadar LX? No, I would not!
Thoughts? Is Labradar too late to the game, or is this a contender that will only heat up the chronograph war?!? Please Like and SUBSCRIBE! Thanks!

Pretty decent info. Thank you
A direct and practical comparison on a range between Garmin Xero and LR LX (as soon as it's available) would be a good contribution to the community.

I also got the Garmin Zero, and would not mind getting the new Lab Radar LX plus the Caldwell Velociradar too.
A day late and a dollar short many of us have moved on

Probably will cause more innovation but with the lab radar problems I think alot of people will shy away
This is my next purchase😉
Does this LX display BC as well or just FPS? Haven't seen anything regarding BC
Does anyone know how far out the LX can track the bullet? the Original can track out to 100 yards.
I don't recall if we were told.

Let us know how it does!

Its now mid april, hows that "LATE MARCH RELEASE?" typical Labradar!
Did he say $599?
Yes.
At this price just get the Garmin.
Get the garmin

So this one reads down as low as 65fps. Perhaps you can use it to read how fast you’ll be punching yourself for not buying the Garmin.
Probably discussing archery. Because my fist definitely travels faster than 65fps! 😆
Put my hard earned money on a Garmin.
Good choice.
