- Explore the historic township of Walhalla, once Australia's most wealthy town thanks to the gold rush. Tour the gold mine and soak up the ornate architecture or discover the Australian Alps walking track.
I grew up here . Wow, I miss it.
My uncle owns the old bakery their!
The Star hotel looks nothing like it used to infact it looks worse. The Grand Junction Hotel was based off the Collins Start Hotel that was located across the junction.
Only been there twice beautiful town though
There’s a door in a cliff where there seems to be bullet holes?
i went there its haunted
Nah its great 👍🏻 my family goes and camps there its not haunted or seems it at all (expect that house that is near the campsite :( gives me chills)
I go there often & Walhalla is spook central. Try the church on the hill & the cemetery. There is also the ghost of Walhalla's only smallpox victim, Sarah Hanks, buried at the top of a gully near the cricket ground track because they wouldn't bury her in the cemetery. Who ya gonna call? GHOSTBUSTERS.
@@buailebawns2162 the cemetery is certainly a very sad place, so many young infants and children died so young. Just tells us how very hard it was back then in the gold rush days. There is one grave on the very top of the hill which is of a father and his three young children all of them were between the ages of 3 years old to 5 years old (girls), all born and died a few years apart and the father died twelve years later in 1897 a painful death due to spending all those years working in the mines i believe he got poisoning due to working for many years in the mines. Just tells us that disease, illness was very rampant during those times. The cemetery is indeed a very sad place. I have captured a few evps and orbs even a face which appears to look like a young child near that grave of the father and his young kids. I believe Walhalla is haunted and would love to go on a ghost tour at night.
hey buddy could u send me the photo? im a fan of walhalla
