Thanks to floating tubs that hang from the top of the cabinet. LGs and Samsungs have exploded because of those. Give me something that's supported from the ground up, and then we'll talk.
My grandma used to have that washing machine in her old house it was from 97 and unfortunately in 2011 it stopped working so she had to get a Whirlpool Cabrio Washing Machine from Sears in 2011
It seems like many washer manufacturers have copied Whirlpool's neutral drain system. I almost thought that GE and WHIRLPOOL merged with each other. MAYTAG being now made by WHIRLPOOL naturally has the same neutral draining. The old MAYTAGS had spin-drains prior to WHIRLPOOL aquisition. Prior GE washers have spin-drains.
The camera cuts out between the rinse cycle and final spin, but I know why that is. The camera cut out because it ran out of batteries. The batteries failed, and they were out of energy, and they had nothing left. That's my guess is to why today's video ended in a weird spot, something you were not expecting or encountering, but hey, you never know what's going to happen from here on out!
I don't remember why it cut out, either battery or low memory. Long time ago. But I wasn't around to catch that until the final spin was already mid-way through, so that's why it was such a long jump cut.
They really gotta make more traditional agitators if they’re still makin’ those High-Efficiency pieces of junk ‘cause we jus’ gonna continue to be upset otherwise.
First of all, if you're going say you don't like the filter flos, even anything like "they suck" is better than the way you phrased it. But then also, this is clearly not the channel for you. Not saying I'm any kind of proponent of GE stuff, but anything before they discontinued the filter flos is FAR better than anything they made after. Just check out jaykay18's videos on the conundrum with his old GE before he replaced it with a Whirlpool direct drive. And also check out his video on his sister's GE Infusor millenniwasher. Both are complete garbage.
I should say, his old GE was an early 2000's model with an electronic control panel. His videos explain all the hell he was put through with that thing until the transmission finally seized to oblivion on it.
Haier 90-1789 is the better model then that, it saves time, cycle is efficient and also it has the 1300 spinning Rpm. compact design and cheaper in cost, easy to repair
There are a LOT of machines out there that are way better than this. I never cared much for anything GE made after they discontinued the filter-flo design, and the new ones are especially garbage.
I have the 2000 GE washer. The changes is, it needs a magnet to work, the options turner thing is changed and that cylander thing with a curly thing no longer has a curl shape. It is just a vertical part slightly curved.
I just picked up an 80 series Kenmore washer from 1999. Any washing machine made after 2010 is complete garbage and won't last long. Now that it's 2019 is your beautiful washer still working? Please let me know :)
I think the GE Profile top load washers have suspension springs on the top of the cabinet where other older top loaders such as Kenmore/Whirlpool direct drives eg have suspension springs on the bottom of the cabinet.
Revisar los baleros, quizá sea una causa común de ese ruido. En ocasiones hay una pieza de plástico dentro de la transmisión que se rompe y tambien causa ese ruido.
I like how the basket shakes the most on GE washers. It's like that's their specialty.

I love looking at washer videos!!!! So relaxing 😌!!!!
Thanks.

I think this is a great washing machine from GE. Way better than the new GE models!!!
Oh I think so too!
At Grandmother’s House.
Yes, late grandmother's now.
Cool. Simple, efficient and fast.
That is a lot better washing machine they make today
Somewhat.

That's a great rollover!
I'll take Granny's machine over the newer models anyday! Great sound to relax by...Thank you for sharing this one and pass the softener.
Nice washer. Those agitators can really make a large rollover!
7:05 stop wash 0:48 fill 3:14 wash
9:19 neutral drain 12:57 first spin 14:59 stop spin 15:05 fill 19:20 rinse 21:46 final spin 24:27 end
these clothes are so warm

Better than a piece-of-junk High-Efficiency washer.
For sure!
They really gotta make more traditional agitators if they’re still makin’ those High-Efficiency pieces of junk ‘cause we jus’ gonna continue to be upset otherwise.
@@laundryandtrainman2467 That won't help the 2 ounces of water it still uses.
same washer that scantpear1985 has i wish i had it
I don't. It's a GE. They went downhill after they stopped making the filter flo machines.
@@lizboz oof
@@lizboz I'm not trying to be rude or anything but i kinda think the GE filter flo washers and dryers were 0% good...

Is this a direct drive or a belt drive?
Belt-drive.
0:01 Where can i purchase that cup??
That was what was in the box of Tide powdered that my Grandmother always used. No idea where it came from.
That's a great roll over
What does this washer do when the load is off balance?
Carry on spinning it dose not have a senser
Omygoshtv 14
Thanks.
I think the electronic ones did have a sensor tho.
Sounds like a early version of a whirlpool or kenmore
Sounds like a GE to me.
Wished Whirlpool Corporation manufactured the GE products.

Yes, you told me before! Mine is still working just fine to this day.
0 : 26 there's a pink panther on your grandmas shirt
GE direct drive
This one is not a direct drive, it's a belt drive. I know that for a fact.
This the good belt drive GE
Well, it's better than the GEs from 10 or less years ago, but it still doesn't even come close to a Whirlpool direct drive in my opinion.
lizboz direct drives are awesome and the best
Something's definitely wrong with the suspension!!!
Yes, but remember this is an old machine, expect some problems here and there. And even so, it still washes fine and get's the job done.
Every video I have seen of these style of GE washers the suspension behaves this way. It's part of the design.
I think the GE Profile top load washers have suspension springs on the top of the cabinet where other older top loaders such as Kenmore/Whirlpool direct drives eg have suspension springs on the bottom of the cabinet.
Sound like a train
If you say so.
una igual a esta hace mucho ruido, parece la rolinera o rodamiento,Como se la cambio por Favor

9:18 neutral drain
Great thanks, it's been killing me to know what time the machine "neutral drains"...
Cool
