Infinity Ward’s last two games have really captured the fun of the AK; a hard-hitting AR with a moderate fire rate and substantial recoil. Only other game to get it right was the original Black Ops imo.
I dont know why in Black ops 6 they decided to make the Ak-74 (a 5.45) a hard hitting AR with "alot" of recoil, thats almost the exact opposite in real life. Why theyarch didn't use another AK model to acomplish with the requirement of a Hard hitting AR with moderate fire rate and a fair amount of recoil?
There are 100s of Ak variations that fire different rounds, cod choses the 7.62 variety most of the time, but don’t be fooled, many types of Aks don’t shoot heavy hitters, for example Chinese militarised aks
It's the first time the proper AK-74 (not the carbine AKS-74U) makes an original appearance in a mainline COD title, so it's a nice change of pace from the usual variety. Thing is, I guess 3arc can't really afford to stray away from the typical association of an AK rifle with the 'slow, steady & hard-hitting AR' archetype and they probably don't want to make too much exact visual clones in the same gun category (ala MWII Kastov 545 & Kastov 762) so they decided to just play it safe. Personally I agree they still should have at least added a AK derivative because there are alot of them that don't necessarily straight up look like a 1:1 AK copy, something like the RK 62 - pretty much an alternate AKM twin that runs parallel with its lifespan and is the progenitor for the Galil.
@@eyeamstrongest Ya I completely agree, but I don't like how they tuned the AK74 to perform like a 7.62 AK. In-game, they already have the Model L for a slow & hard-hitter AR.
I miss when the guns felt like they had weight and personality. You built your gun and when people watched the kill cam they knew what you were about. I used to play with wacky gun builds and it felt like each combination was a whole new and different gun. Now customization is just ++firerate ++range ++ads ++mag size.
There was something special about the AK in 2019 when you used the operator foregrip and the skeleton stock. Idk what it was about the operator foregrip, but it was just the best on some guns and nobody ever used it. It seemed like it was better on slower guns like the Amax, AK, and Odin and it just made the recoil patterns (god I miss recoil patterns) so much more natural.
@@akiyomer for sure, and a hard hitting one at that, it was one of the only cods that actually had a two shot 7.62x39 round, I mean depending on where you hit like in real life.
Something that’s so great about IW games is there 100hp is always great for weapon balancing, more variety is always a great thing for everybody that isn’t captured a lot with 125 or 150hp cods
I realized this when they spent an entire year complaining about slide cancelling and how it "breaks the camera" (whatever the hell that means) only to then complain about slide cancelling not being in the next IW game.
What happens when people spend all their free time doing the same thing over and over again😂 it's not the games. They hate theirselves, but they don't realise it
This isn't totally fair. I never complained about slide canceling in MW2019. People complained about it at the time because it was a novel thing that only highler skilled and more dedicated players would do as to take full advantage of it you needed to change the slide and tac sprint settings in the options. It was mostly super casual console standard controller users that complained about it. I hated the visual recoil in MW2, the sluggish movement wasn't a great change either (but I could live with it), but the lack of slide canceling wasn't the problem with that game. The insane visual recoil that obscures what you're shooting at just made it annoying. Black Ops 6 is way too fast, I think the best middle ground by far is MW2019. People do whine incessantly and are generally extremely petulant and entitled, but I think reasonable people can sit down and have a discussion about what is fun and what isn't. I think the ideal COD multiplayer experience is MW2019's movement, time to kill, and gunplay, with some of the quality of life improvements from the new games like the shooting range and the climbing/mantling system introduced in MW2.
I will elaborate further. I can go as far back as the at least 09-2013. Back then, people complained about each consecutive game coming out feeling the same and activision never changing the formula. They implemented change into AW and people complained about that game. Liking it even less than ghosts. It only took two years for people to be tired of Space call of duty. The evidence is how Infinite Warfare was received. People hated on that before even playing it. It was probably one of the reasons the dislike button on UA-cam was taken away. COD 2019 was the game that brought people back into good faith with COD. Mostly thanks to warzone. People complained about the slide canceling, and they took it away in MW2, and then people bitched that MW2 played too slow and wanted slide canceling back. COD has two different communities that want two different things. And there is no equilibrium. There is always going to be people pissed off at the newest COD and will look back years later saying they weren’t actually that bad. Like Ghosts.
@austinstringfield8854 because all CoD fans do is play CoD. Most people who do the same thing every day begin to hate it. They do nothing but play CoD. Look at how many people were master prestige by Christmas. It's pathetic.
Damn this makes me wanna play MWII and MWIII again. I think in MWII it felt like fire rate and damage matched the caliber of each gun. I can understand that some people don't like the realistic approach, but it's definitely something I miss in BO6. Seeing a slow-firing .22 SMG dominate everything kinda irks me haha.
MW2 Ak-47 was amazing I agree, I'll never understand some of the random nerfs though, that also goes to all the range nerfs to the 74U. They nerfed my favorite guns but not that damn Tac-56...
the AK was like the only other AR that could hold a candle the Tac because it was 2 shot headshot and 3 shot anywhere on the body, but they nerfed the body damage multipliers over so many patches it eventually became almost similar to the TAC damage profile, but retaining the 2 shot headshot. i think they were listening to loser pros and sweats for balance ideas, its an industry wide problem that sucks the life out of games.
@koreyfrom6079 saddest part is, they still all use those same guns to this day. Along with the snakeshot revolver. No one has any style anymore. Everyone uses the same gun and the same playstyle.
if it makes any sense, i know the devs didn't listen to much of the feedback and had many issues with the game but this still was one of the most fun games overall. tac cam c4's, ttk, game chat, maps, and even the gunplay was very satisfying
