  • I think castles are amazing because they have survived for so long. This is an excellent example of a well preserved castle; the stone walls we see now were built in the 14th century, making it around 700 years old! But the mound, it is built around 1068 making it well over 900 years old, absolutely Incredible
    This is Totnes Castle in Devon, a still dominant castle right in the centre of a very well preserved historic town.
