Mortal Combat at BOTY in 2006 was the first B-boy video I ever saw on UA-cam, and was one of the main things that got me interested in it. It's incredible to see a couple of people from that lineup are still competing today. Great stuff.

My impression was that the style was different from the usual breakdancing showcase.
I think you'll understand after a little more time.
I thought it was a showcase that took breakdancing to the next stage.

I can agree to this. Utilizing different music and actually focusing on formations and unique moves makes a crew stand out. If you watched last year's BOTY finals showcases, none stood out and was a snooze fest. Japan always stands out with their choices.

Love Mortal Combat and seeing Kaku and Ryoma still kicking it, but this show felt off. I get that they were trying something different, but it lacked dynamic energy, compared to what they used to do.
