I started getting the "if the customer meets you, take a photo" screen the other night. It's very annoying. I had one where the customer met me. I had to awkwardly be like "sorry, DoorDash wants a photo of the bag", take the photo, then it yells at me that the phone was tilted down and to take another, but I had already given the food to the customer so all DoorDash got was a blurry photo of my hot/cold bag. It's absolutely stupid and a waste of time.
In my area, the base pay is $2.00. A stacked order will be a base pay $2.25. Door Dash thinks because they dump 2 orders on you they don't have to pay for the second one? That's insane to me, doe that not bother anyone?
Yep. Don’t worry about the base pay. Is it enough to do the second drop? Is it even enough to just one. I’ve had both terrible and pretty good. I’ve gotten the same customer on a stack that I do solo every so often. The stack with another semi regular that was a block away was less total pay than the solo. The next two days I delivered their coffee again. Both time more money for just the one than when it was a stack. It’s always the same pay for them right at $6 bucks. The stack with the other one that’s usually $4 paid $5.61????? They stealing.
Might not be the worst idea for Uber Drivers to try out. If the Uber customer is okay with it, and there's little-to-no deviation from their destination (long wait time/different direction for delivery), you could pick up an order to deliver on your route to get more value out of your commute. Or you could pick one up, after dropping off the Uber customer, for the way back towards your zone so you're not traveling on complete Dead Miles. Personally, I won't be going for it since I do my thing on my eBikes, but to each their own. Good luck and stay safe out there everyone!
DD needs a waiting bonus stat. A minimum of .25 cents per minute accumulating as the driver is waiting for the order to be made ready for delivery.....no more delivery drivers waiting around endlessly for free!!! Delivery drivers are actually paid to deliver not to wait! Come on people...we drivers are being taken advantage of BIG TIME!!
I've heard that before, would really put the pressure on restaurants to manage busy times. And of course DD not wanting to spend more if they don't have to.
So...if the order is contactless...take pic.........OK... IF the order is "hand it to me" no pic................OK BUT IF the customer has no contact...BUT...takes the order from you.....Take a pic...WHY..??? because the phone automatically adds GPS coordinates to ALL pics the phone takes..????? I assume if the customer calls and states.."I didnt get my order" DD can now say..."BUT the delivery person took a pic in your front yard.. The embedded GPS location says so....(boy...you cant trust nobody now days...huh) Just one persons opinion
Yes it's all about auditing and ensuring a confirmed delivery. Really leaning into taking confirmation pictures, I get it. Not necessarily against it it's not as annoying as receipt pictures imo
Don't think we had any touch downs here in Pittsburgh, detected a little east in Aspinwall but for about 15 minutes the weather was brutal. Per usual when we get those warnings.
That Distance pay showed up over the weekend to part of this week, had problems with it not working and not showing me my ending amounts for orders. Most if not all the support agents didt know about the incentive even after showing screen shots. Few other things I found was the amounts change as well last day close to the end of the incentive they put only in one place saying its only for per orders deliveries not earn by time, so for all most a week they didt say it does not work on EBT. And pay attention they shift around the EBT amount base, for my area/zone goes from 18.75-18.50 and just other day for a friend it changed it for him to 17hr. but they gave him really good petco deliveries that paid really well on top the hr amount.
Yes I've also noticed base active hourly changing on EBT. For the Distance Pay yes I heard it was initially a small test so I can understand how even support isn't super familiar with it yet.
@@YourDriverMike i like that you can see the unit and gate code and instructions in separate boxes rather than having to scroll and click the drop down to expand the delivery instructions. it separates the data better
I would just always be ready to take pictures, so even if they're already standing there when I get out I'll say, "how's it going, just gotta take a pic real quick". Never had someone try to stop me. If they complain say, "no I hear you, DoorDash really wants us to take pictures now" etc etc basically just stall while taking the pic and you're done.
There is too many leave at door customers calling door dash saying they did not get their order and how do u prove it when u did not take a picture so dd is going to side with the customer and ur gonna get a violation if u don't take pictures😊
I've had that, where DD said to take a photo of the receipt for the first time for me the other night. It's so stupid because it's only the 1 delivery. Then back to the way it was before for all the rest. Is it the norm or just once in a while? Make up your mind DD!
I think a lot when placing orders just don't pay attention to what they select for delivery method. I've had some select 'leave at door' but write in the comments 'please meet me out front' or they'd select 'hand it to me' but write 'just leave it on the step' etc.
6:40 loophole! Safety reason order would be late and eventually support might instruct to dispose of order. Sure pictures may be requested by support and with a good imaginative story, you win. Several cops pulling over a person you could park near and talk to a cop innocent conversation while telling delivery support for safety reasons you would be late with order as witness or any valid safety reason. I like thinking of way out side the box ideas I have little courage pulling off.
Anything outside of real circumstances could be construed as fraud aka making up a story to avoid contract violations. A Dasher can probably say these things a few times to support but if repeated, support would probably use their own discretion. I can't say for sure what they'd do because they have to believe a Dasher to a degree.
Distance pay is going to be really good in my area. The west/northwest side of my area is all rural with very few options to pick up more orders. I'd be much more willing to bite the bullet if I got 2-2.5x the pay to the mile because frankly, people out there are horrible tippers.
I get it, it rewards every mile you drive with extra pay. So as mentioned at the end here any longer trip could benefit whereas shorter trips Peak Pay could be better.
Well Mike.... if the distance pay was $3.30 per 5 miles and on and was pro rata per mile (not capping where it adds $3.30 if you hit 5 miles and then it adds it on)..... thats $0.66 per mile as you said... the distance pay for 2.1 miles should have been $1.39 rounding up, not $1.25 shown on the payout.... either you said the wrong miles, or the math ain't mathing and you should be calling it out instead of talking about tornados. Im sorry man, but be straight with your audience.
Guessing it's because estimated miles on the offer card are not exact and depend on the route taken by the Dasher. I'll see if I can get more info on that
If they want a photo take the handed to customer off the screen so that we take the photo but when someone is walking up to your car befir u even get out i rathe just hand them the food and go 😊
Or have that option appear after we take the picture. Have you commonly had someone walk up to your car? Typically I'll have they're waiting at the door/patio but I could see that maybe if they're already working in the front lawn.

Exactly what I don't like about longer rides a bonus on the front end is nice but then what. If you're strategic you can make it work though and try to daisy chain offers back in.
@YourDriverMike it all depends on how busy it is. In my area most of the day is very slow and most deliveries turn into round trips back empty. Sometimes I can get a ride back using Uber x or Lyft but many delivery drivers don't do passenger rides
Wow, in Phoenix DD is soooo shitti. I’ve got today $4 for 8 miles, and $5 for 9 miles. Declining them I don’t have any other. But!!!! DD sent me “invite your friends” and got $ 20 bonus 🤯 DD, really?!!!!
That's $3.59 per mile, that is most certainly a high paying offer and would say so if this was on Dasher Rewards. General operational cost is $.67 per business mile for the standard mileage deduction. This is a high margin offer. Quoted to take 23 minutes or $29.87/hr trending.
4:32 I did a papa John’s hand to me double the other day and it prompted me with an example photo to take a picture of the customer holding the food. On both of them. I don’t recall exactly but it said something like take a picture of the food in the customers hands. Both in upper middle class neighborhoods that I go to regularly. Maybe it’s just a pizza thing? I don’t really do pizza.
