Antonio, I just wanted to say thank you for all the great content you produce. You really helped me navigate menswear and style, something I thought was completely confusing and out of my reach for a long time. Keep up the great work!
The U.S. Navy has Chelseas as an optional working uniform item. They’re steel toe and the leather is thick and takes a long time to break in but they take a spit shine very easily. Also, in the Star Wars movies, the stormtroopers wear Chelseas. They didn’t come in gloss white so George Lucas had the wardrobe department simply paint them gloss white.
Many thanks I stopped wearing a pretty nice pair of Cheaney Chelsea boots precisely because my straight leg jeans were simply too baggy for them, just ordered a pair of tapered 501s especially for them.
The advantage, but also the problem, with boots is you can wear shorter trousers but you don't want them too short that while sitting the hems are above the tops of boots. Then when you stand back up, the back of your trousers catches the pull straps and you have to constantly adjust. I cut off the straps on Beckett Simonon Silva Chelsea's for that reason.
Honestly, I wasn't even in the market for a new pair of Chelseas, but I WAS looking for a new pair of boots. Those "stone rambler" Challenger boots on the site look fantastic.
You should do the same video on bout cowboy boots, depending on how high the boot goes, it’s not always easy to find pants cuts that work great with it
I have a pair of Thursday Chelsea boots. I got them before the company took a nose dive in both quality and customer service. I’ll be spending a bit more on my next pair. No more Thursdays for me.
I really think they look better with a straight cut as the Jeans or trousers will sit where they normally would with a pair of shoes. Wearing them with todays slim fit looks immature as it's like you have to show them off by not covering the boot. Do you then need to have your trousers cut to a length to wear with your Chelsea boots specifically? I have a couple of pairs and i like them as their easy to slip on and off have dainite soles which are not too thick for driving and no bother with laces. I'm at an age wear my comfort is a priority over style.
You forgot to mention. If you want to keep it a masculine look, don’t wear your jeans so tight and hemmed up to the ankles, like you borrowed them from your sister. I got your back Antonio.
Can RMRS do a video on the men fashion styles and trends of Tokyo, Japan ?? I visited Tokyo, Japan multiple times in the past. Nearly everyone there's dress very well regardless of fashion types and age group. I think Tokyo is is considered one of the fashion capital of the world along with Paris, Milan, and NYC.
It’s funny that on the Thursday boots website with their Duke Chelsea, the guy that’s modeling them has jeans on…😂 I prefer leather bottom shoes, so lug souls are out for me. Those are for work boots and job sites.
I’m a rule breaker and wear Chelsea boots with a tuxedo. I only wear my tux once or twice a year. I didn’t want my tux and shoes just sitting around so I made the concession that my shoes would have to be less formal. I got the Thursday Cavaliers and they have been great.
I’ve been looking into a first pair of boot, I would want something versatile to wear in just about any scenario. I think I’m leaning towards a brown pair of The Captain or The President, what do you think would make a good choice for a versatile first boot.
I've seen the first advice in a lot of places but disagree hard... I think chelsea's look awful with skinny or too slim pants and look far better with a straight cut, specially with dress trousers.
As an Australian, our national laws require us to break the rule: "don't wear Blundstones (Aussie for 'Chelsea boots') with shorts". I have chicken legs, but I still uphold my civic duty.
I can't agree with the shorts and Chelsea thing. Here in Oz if you throw a rock over your shoulder anywhere in the country, it'll bounce off of three people wearing shorts and RM's or Blundie's before it hits the ground. Just make sure you're wearing work or tradie shorts, not little weight exercise shorts.
@@Rüdiger1901 staying away from skinny is a good idea, but slim cut and skinny are different. Skinny forms to your leg more like leggings than jeans. Slim cut still retains some space and shape while being form flattering
Do not know about this one. I do not like tapered trousers. I get them tailored for waist and length. That is probably a category of trousers that guys over 40 need to avoid. Chelsea’s look perfectly fine with regular trousers that otherwise fit except for leg tapering.
they are not feminine , thats why you dont find many women who like men things wearing them . they are more of a mans shoe than being feminine. and they look good on men , not women just like chukkas look good on men not ladies. imo
I realize this is a "me issue". I've never understood Chelsea's, they just look awkward to me. The height drives me nuts. As well the fact Chelsea boots are acceptable for dress, yet "cowboy boots are not.". The lowest boot I'll wear is an 8" lace up boot and none lace up the average cowboy boots 12" shaft (ish). Of course then there is the length of pants "cuffing / rolling" never mind skinny jeans / pants. 👀. It all feels & looks so awkward and uncomfortable!! Hello Antonio, I like your video! All of the footwear that I own, I will not state any (brand names) is either high top and/or boot configuration. I.e. athletic shoes, laced-side-zip hiking boots, laced-side-zip safety toe work boots, side-zip dress boots, pull-on western boots and last but not least pull-on cowboy boots. There is a difference between a western boots and a cowboy boot. A cowboy boot is always a western boot, but in the mean time, a western boot is not always a cowboy boot. @@MayTheSchwartzBeWithYou really? Then why is there so much marketing around boots for men? Specifically making men look attractive in them along with fashion?

Could you answer a question please? I tried some yesterday in my size that I like, but I have very highly arched feet, and around the arch it is a little bit tight after a while. Would the leather upper eventually stretch to fit after a few wears? I tried the next size up and it was slightly better, but still a bit tight. I don't really want to go another size up because I don't want the clumsiness, but I might have to if the leather upper won't stretch to my foot over time
