The smart still need work, but they definitely bring good stuff to the table. Counter battery is a game changer, anything you fire now is going to be answered. Seize is quite good, it allows you to push a larger group forward with reasonable efficiency while you micro the fire support around it. Hold position I find is very hit or miss, sometimes the AI sets up on point, sometimes the movements seem to make no apparent sense, and you have to watch what unit mix you put to that order, as it will shamelessly throwaway commanders and such and does overall horrible in forests due to not considering sight lines at all, seems to do all right for optimal defense of small towns/strong points. Defensive fire sometimes has the arty firing at nothing, sometimes not firing at all when it clearly should, fire at will does as advertised. Auto strike for planes does not really seem to work at all, at least not on fighters.
I missed all the multiplayer games you used to put up regularly!

This was a really nice battle to watch
78th Stürm seems to be a really meta division. Loads of pak 43s both as guns and Nashorns to wreck IS-2s at max range, plenty of leaders no make them extra killy and then you got spam of the best troops in the game + endless infantry AT options. Counters what most USSR players focus on ie infantry engagements and IS-2s

I would love to see you try using the amphibious units on this map doing some river tactic. This would be the first real map in steel division where amphibious units can use the skills fully.
This would be better in the 1v1 version I suspect where the river crosses the middle of the map left to right.
With the new smart orders artillery seems to chew through supplies extra fast
Yeah they can do, and with supply being more scarce I think people are going to have to be more careful with using smart orders.

In general I find that the Panther g with APCR is an effective counter to the IS-2
Interesting to see the US 3rd Admired Division fighting alongside two Waffen SS Panzer Divisions against the Soviets. A late war German dream! fulfilled!
is there a persistent progression system in this game? like a leveling system? games looks awesome but i want something to work to unlock between games
There is a multiplayer leveling system yes, but not really any rewards for those levels per say other than the achievements on Steam.
What hotkey you use to see unit range?
I know the 600mm off map artilery is rather expensive and being a plane somewhat problematic, but from the twenty minute mark forward until the 30 minute level when there was just too much AA, it seems like exactly what it was made for. Was it something you would say you missed or even in that scenario is the unit somewhat just regulated to being a meme pick?
The 5th SS don't get the 600mm so I couldn't have used it either way. I think it can be good though.
Is it not the 5th? Sorry I mix up the new German divisions. It can be hard to remember their names.

this game needs to team up with world of tanks
this map is amazing but has anyone had any issues with new maps not showing up in the game? I have the new DLC and the new division appear but none of the new maps. Which is rather unfortunate when there is a map like this.
The maps came in separate free DLC, so make sure you have added them to your library either from the Steam store page or from the DLC prompt in game.

Would u say rocket artillery is more usable now or is it too supply hungry and slow firing?
I would say rocket arty is still usable, you just have to make sure you move it right after you are done and in cases of the vielfachwerfer, do shorter strikes. In terms of supply, generally decks that rely on rocket artillery don't have much supply to spend on other artillery pieces.

@@MasterOfCybertron Not particularly, since conventional artillery is always required. Rocket artillery just has it's own role; Katyushas for pinning before an attack, Andruyshas for the same but also killing groups of fire support, artillery or AA for example.

Campaigns, divisions, and scenarios are paid for.
The new maps are not paywalled and are part of the free patch.
Yeah it's so people aren't locked out of multiplayer lobbies for not owning the maps in the DLC.
It is same game with more modes and worse UI. GREAT
try wining with the least amount of killing as fast as possible
I think that HE fire from low caliber infantry guns & mortars able to kill heavily armoured vechiles is just wrong and kills my interest over this game in reality perspective
I agree, in general tanks are too vulnerable to HE in this game.

in my opinion the counter battery is just too strong, for me as the 3rd us in this game it was complete aids to do anything cause my arty was insta killed after they fired once, and you dont even have to do anything for it, just press one button and forget about your arty for the rest of the game, it would be okay if you would need line of sight, but as it stands it is just too strong
Bit if the intention of smart orders is to reduce the micro intensity of the game, it's working as intended. You can counterbattery without LoS anyway manually, this just means you spend less time doing it.
@@herecomesthatboy1961 yeah thats my problem with it, if you see it and manually tell your arty to fire you have to spend time and brainpower, with this its just one click and every stationairy artillery of the enemy just dies as soon as it fires cause you physically cant move it away fast enough
I think it's just going to encourage more use of mobile artillery. Yes, it can be effective, but the command doesn't work if you can move your units easily after each volley. The enemy just wastes ammunition, which is in shorter supply since this patch.
I want to play but a 1 hour match to grind a WarGaming title is a big no lol

@@VulcanHDGaming the fact its being used so often lends me to think otherwise. There are so many SD2 divs now..............can they really not find one to play? It would be nice to see a game without SD44 divs particularly that one as it's seriously overused.
