Facts to all u mentioned. And yes… I own some reps and have no shame. I would never spend a thousand dollars for a shoe I love and want to wear and beat up, because of nostalgia from 80s and 90s, when I was a kid. Can care less what people think.
I've been killing it in this market. I've bought so many more quality shoes and half the price I did, let say 2 years ago. I'm much happier with my pick ups. I haven't had that sense of guilt I used to have. This market has allowed me to become more patient and get shoes for the price I want to pay. Love the videos. Keep it up. Have to say tho, a Ravens jersey would look better than that Steelers jersey.
You are pretty spot on as I personally thought too. Those few pairs selling for a high price also because of the quantity drop. But I think is better to save up the money as economy may not look great down the path, got to hang on for a while. Great video.
Its really great thing now there's actually some new releases that I can afford resell value on and plenty of great sneakers on sale that wouldn't have been just a couple years back
If you're 15 or 16 years old. 150 - 200 is still a lot of money. And spending 500 to 600 a month is on sneakers you don't "need" I would rather that my kids spend that money on playing sports, but I can't get mine to be interested in sneakers and maybe I should be happy. We should definitely be happy that sneakers are sitting, although the sneakers I want are usually around 2 K.
As an aspiring customizer I'm worried idk what designs I should put out because idk what is popular or what models are here to stay for longer than a few months.
The thing is that the material cost for these shoes and the production costs are nothing like resale. The cost of a shoe does not mean it is good or bad from a quality or material standpoint.
Don't know why but we haven't seen prices drop that much in canada..possibly cause we have limited places to cop or the outrageous tax n duty we pay on everything..but it's getting really tough due to the fact that retail for a retro j is 260 or 270 n after tax that's 300 retail..when I hear people complain in u.s about paying 220 after tax for a retail pair I laugh n say they don't know how good they have it
I love the reimagined 3s thete beautiful they look amazing and my elephant print and placement of everything is almost perfect . I highly suggest copping I like mine and the prices are still up there bu5 aren't as bad as they should be for sure
The reality is that as the economy gets bad and inflation doesn't stop, people are just less enthusiastic about their hobbies and collectibles. I've noticed in many different genres of hobbies, the price of things go down across the board. For example I watch alot of action figure collectors and reviewers, and a few of them go through eBay for resale listings of action figures, and sought after figures from a few years ago that would normally go for around $100, now are down to $50. Of course theres the exceptions but in general, it seems that people are more conscious of their money now. And I've seen some shoes that I've been wanting go down, but I even find myself just less enthusiastic about spending my money on shoes I probably won't wear much.
And it's frustrating how everyone and there mother was trashing kn the tiff 1s and I wanted a pair so freaking bad I entered every giveaway raffle and draw in the world and still couldn't hit and now 1000 plus Naaaa no Thank you
@@TraviNomotion number 1, if you are in middle school, you should be focusing on your school work. Why wear something expensive when your feet are going to be outgrowing the shoes within a year. 2, buy those shoes when you are the ones making the money and can actually afford them.
I'm here for it. As just a collector I'm honestly copping multiple pairs every week without breaking the bank. I'm honestly trying to grab all the sb that I couldn't grab before
Chu Bro, some interesting stuff to think about. I'm sort of glad it's come to this point in a way, and I hope it deters resellers from being hungous keintz 😂 so all of us who have been talking L's can at least have a better chance of catching a Dub! Chur Maori ✌🏾
I think the low prices you see on some of the sneakers is short lived because the if the resellers can't get their $20-$40 profit they will just send them back to Nike.
Your point being? For someone who wants to wear the shoes it doesnt matter wether you get it for retail from a reseller or they're sitting for retail on the nike website
True for me. I have just fallen out of love for it. Sneakerculture is just about bots and big money-grab now. Resellers most have the shoes instead of the people wanting to wear them for real.
Dude you and I are a rare breed, I love the fact the sneaker market is down. I’m collecting like crazy, everything is becoming easier and cheaper to get and that makes me so happy, because I WEAR MY SHOES. Great channel, love the content, keep it bro 😎
Jordan 7 Cardinal under retail. Playoff 13 under retail. White cement and fire red 3 around retail. Its great. Even went for those spiderverse 2.0 with the price beinf only $50 over in my size pre release. Been wild
I often have different opinions than you on pairs, but you easily have the best, most original, and non repetitive BS that’s everyone else is doin. Thanks… I think there’s a lot to be said about how Covid money pumped prices on pairs, and without it, lots of folks slowed down buying. I used to buy what I like, now I only buy what I love. On top of that, all these over produced reimagined pairs create too much supply for prices to do much. To me, there’s a lot of pretty dope pairs on the horizon, but the only ones I’m definitely pulling the trigger on are the washed blacks and military blues.
Though your points are on, I don’t think that’s why its a bit tame at the moment. Crisis, etc are always there. It’s more that we came out of an unprecedented high tide when in 2018/2019 boost was released, Yeezy arrived, Nike had to respond and came with off white, and adidas ruled the more high fashion with the ozweego (which was the true originater of the chunky shoe trend) from RAF Simons and the collabs with Rick Owens. Also Asics, Diadora and a couple of smaller brands peaked. So the boundaries of sneakerland where stretched like they once were in beginning 90’s when Nike / Jordan became popular. Now, with new balance popular, the antithesis of evolution and progress, there’s like a breathing period. Also because all new ideas have been realized and the dust has to settle. In 20 years we’ll probably see the next real high point again with truly new ideas.
I dont really see the market down but hey, its great news! Props to the rep community tho, for flooding the market and making spending those inflated figures kinda silly. I've been having a ball on Stockx finally picking up some pairs I thought I was never going to get.
The white cement 3s and thunder 4s will eventually go up, but it'll take a few years before that happens. When it comes to og colourways or popular retros from years ago like the Thunders, it's going to be more beneficial to play the long game with them rather than try to quick flip, especially since those 2 releases in particular have some of the best quality we've seen from the brand in a while, along with their shape and build being as close to the originals as they've ever been. It's part of the reason I'm hoping to get a 3rd pair of the white cements. That being said, even if their value somehow doesn't rise by a lot, it just means I'll have a third pair to wear. ☺️
The market is definitely down right now and it’s a great thing but when you wear a 14/15 it makes no difference 🤷🏾♂️. Nothing is gonna beat that mid to late 2010s era. I still think it’s a bad time to buy shoes for big foot people.
I litteraly dont see how someone could love the jarritos over the fly streetwear sb dunks (that i hit on and wore twice now). I dont really think green and orange are nice collor on clothes especially freakin orange and the cloth brown is ugly and boring, while the fly streetwear SBs have AMAZING leather, pretty nice fuzzy blue part dunno the material but its nice, and just overal are fire AF. The detailing n shit, I dont even see how they could be comparable let alone the jaritos being double the price. But then again i really like the neckface sb and dont see how its not going for crazy money so just take my opinion with a grain of salt lol
Heres my unpopular opinion: Honestly the models I want are still holding crazy prices and are unlikely to go down, because collab/special models will always be on demand. Buying a sneaker just because its available even if for under retail makes little sense if you are after specific models, so all these crashes dont make that much difference...
Love to be called sneaker enthusiast than sneaker head 😅 But UA-cam s**ks… I’ve turned on all notifications for your channel but never getting the message that you’ve posted another video…

I'm glad the rep market has had a impact on the market and I'm glad the market is falling off I do not care about the value of the shoe I care about the shoe I don't care about future value of the shoe I want the shoe to enjoy personally and for my self and for my collection. The only good thing about the market is that alot of shoes are readily available but the prices are damn ridiculous and them coming down to more realistic price 20 to 50 bucks above retail is fine ill pay that for the shoe I really want just cuz they are there and available anything g over that is just scalping hard and ruins it for me.

When every sneaker tuber says market is down, etc, that means higher prices are around the corner. Probably in the fall because the earth is so warm now, everyone wears slides.
