@dewolfm Status Quo is a great cover band, for sure. They play this every show and I'm sure Mr. Fogerty appreciates the royalties. I've seen Bruce 59 times and never seen him play it, except here, on UA-cam. He's a huge John Fogerty fan & has covered, Travelin' Band, Bad Moon Rising, and played with John on Fortunate Son, Centerfield, and others on the Vote For Change tour in October, 2004. Bruce ain't no cover act. He has 350 songs, about 50 classics, and can only play 25 or so a night.
I saw the concert in Copenhagen 3 days later on 31st May '93 and remember this song. It was unbelievably awesome how the entire football stadium was rocking!
Why is everyone doing a comparison to the Status Quo version even though it's not their original, and this version is done Live and out of the John Fogerty "setup". Every single version of this song is awesome!
I glad you that you sung this song because my cousin dances to it and shakes his head also he taps his feet 💖💖💖💖 thank you so much for creating this amazing song
I remember hearing this song on the AM radio when it first came out in 1975. John never toured for that album because it didn't sell much. Status Quo prolly sold more. I don' think john played it again till the Premonition tour in the mid 90s. It's a great concert song as you can see here by the Boss.
@SAMMYTHOMAS Yeah, but Fogerty wrote and Quo over-engineered it when the charted with it. Fogerty's version on the Premonition Album is one of the best.
@summermanable You can define, "singing" on a way that makes that true if you like. By such a definition, there's probably half a dozen guys in every high school performance of a Rogers and Hammerstein musical with "prettier" voices. Why do you suppose he's still rocking all over the world 40 years after signing a contract for 3 albums with Columbia Records in 1972? *NO ONE* has performed at his consistent level excellence, writing songs, in the studio, and in concert over the past 4 decades.
@summermanable You're taking it all too seriously. When Bruce does these 'covers' at his concerts its the party part, to remind you what fun live music and dancing can be. Alot of his songs are actually quite dark and meaningful and resonate with a worldwide audience for that reason. Have you seen him live? It s a great experience, you come away rejuvenated. I suspect Columbia are quite happy with their signing and a few more of us around the world are too.
It's always a good thing to actually learn the lyrics John Fogerty wrote before you try to cover one of his songs rather than make them up as you go along
There's a good chance Springsteen never even thought about Quo's version when he decided to cover this. He's friends with Fogerty and was most likely infuenced by Fogerty's original version.
@summermanable And you're entitled to it, ignorance & all. His first two albums, released in 1973 sold poorly, less than 20K (*now* they've sold in the millions). He was a favorite of critics but Columbia was going to drop him if the third album didn't sell. "Born to Run" (1975) put him on the cover of Time and Newsweek & went gold. He didn't become the biggest rock star in the world until Born in the USA (1984) his 7th, which sold 30,000,000. You don't like his politics, right?
nothin like youtube comments allowing you guys to anonamously argue and pretend that you know best hey? buy the record, enjoy, thats all there is......
@SAMMYTHOMAS Oh for pete's sake. How would they have done with the song if John Fogerty hadn't written it? Status quo is a cover band, right? Fogerty had written 50 rock classics. Springsteen, at least a 100. Has Status Quo written even one?
@joebandoe I agree and he messed up the words to,its just terrible to hear.John Fogerty is the ma,Bruce maybe the Boss to his fans,But Fogerty is the Daddy of Rock n Roll IMHO
Can;t carry a tune? He has the most melodious voice in his generation. I like his version of Twist and Shout better than the Beatles' cover, which says a lot because for me The Beatles are Gods.
I think it's obvious Springsteen has taken his version straight from the Fogerty original. However, Status Quo did make it a huge hit all over Europe and beyond and because of this people will always associate the song with SQ.
Compared to the Fogerty version and the Springsteen version, I think the Status Quo version isn't that great. Also, Springsteen lengthens the song out by about a minute.
I watched the Status Quo version and compared to John Fogerty and Bruce Springsteen, Status Quo comes in third. Bruce Springsteen is number one and Fogerty is 2.
very disappointing version but then I am one of the few that never really got Bruce, writes great songs but think his songs are better by others, I like Bruce but thyink at times he sounds a bit sloppy, especially live
That. Lady in red beside him👸.........!!! Who's here? 8-16-21.. Rock on...🎶🎸🎼💃🏃🎵🎹👍..
I could totally listen to this on a 10-hour loop
"I don't wanna go home" it's just that easy, don't do it. 100 points for this song.
john rules :-) what a rock song he wrote...
I LOVE The Boss.
The man sweats, bleeds, eats and breathes "Rock N Roll"
I hope he lives forever !!!!
John Fogerty is SUCH and unsung hero.
This is HIS baby.
Bruce does it beautifully and "The Quo" does a great job too !!!
yep
@dewolfm Status Quo is a great cover band, for sure. They play this every show and I'm sure Mr. Fogerty appreciates the royalties.

Just another reason to be a John C. Fogerty Fan.

01:50 I, for one, am glad that Bruce decided to get back together with E Street in '95. Shane looks like he was having more fun in Lone Justice.

@SAMMYTHOMAS
Yeah, but Fogerty wrote and Quo over-engineered it when the charted with it. Fogerty's version on the Premonition Album is one of the best.
he´s still a boss. and a god :-)
Bruce got that raspy voice covering Fogerty/CCR since youth
@hardragsutfol quo used to be huge in europe from the late 60's onwards
I'm not sure he's got the words right... but it's good to see Bruce doing such a great Fogarty song. Still, I like the Quo version better.
@Andi090386 Right on brother!!............
rock on uncle Bruce!
@summermanable You can define, "singing" on a way that makes that true if you like. By such a definition, there's probably half a dozen guys in every high school performance of a Rogers and Hammerstein musical with "prettier" voices.

My brother loves Bruce Springsteen but hates Status Quo. I'm sharing this video with him 😁
How can someone hate status quo.....

It's always a good thing to actually learn the lyrics John Fogerty wrote before you try to cover one of his songs rather than make them up as you go along
fuckin' amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's Rock'n Roll
@SAMMYTHOMAS Springsteen saved rock from disco in the 70's..
ooh why not Bruce S does this cover /song John Fogerty !! Every rockn band do this ... so sweet home Alabama .... :-)
There's a good chance Springsteen never even thought about Quo's version when he decided to cover this. He's friends with Fogerty and was most likely infuenced by Fogerty's original version.
You mean the good version
Fuck status quo
ka-BOOM!!!
STATUS QUO
Status quo made this song there version is the best
No john did and his song actually has soul
Not just singing other peoples lyrics like the dumb quo did
With this Song❤❤❤❤😂
@cablonde320 I'm with you, This has NO comparison to Status Quo, What he is doing is close to murder
Do you happen to have the video for Bobby Jean from this show?
@summermanable And you're entitled to it, ignorance & all.

This version is good.
John Fogerty's version is the best version.
Well, Status Quo are one of the greatest rockbands ever... I like Bruce's version a lot, but Quo did this song LEGENDARY!
No john did
hold have left it to Status Quo!
@SAMMYTHOMAS Oh for pete's sake. How would they have done with the song if John Fogerty hadn't written it? Status quo is a cover band, right? Fogerty had written 50 rock classics. Springsteen, at least a 100.
Has Status Quo written even one?
am I the only one who finds this version better than the status quo's
bruce has a better voice!
I like this one better.
TheQuo's version is THE very best!!!
Status Quo re-wrote the song as "Running All Over The World" for Sports Aid.
Hahahahahahahahahaha
@@philipmcgivern3730 No joke. It's real:
ua-cam.com/video/VTialXq3Cw0/v-deo.html
@@MountainHawkPYL No, i was laughing at cablonde320 "The Quo's version is the best".
John Fogerty ¬¬
Kanonbra yeah
I think the Boss doesn't know the words to his pal Fogerty's song.
ilike bon jovi vesion
@joebandoe I agree and he messed up the words to,its just terrible to hear.John Fogerty is the ma,Bruce maybe the Boss to his fans,But Fogerty is the Daddy of Rock n Roll IMHO
I think we've established he doesn't wanna go home. Lol :)

If he was my boss then work would be a joy :)
so....anyone has a time machine?
@bkpenta You said it, this is a SHIT version of Status Qou's most famous Song
like the original status qou version better....
Quo ain’t original😂
Can;t carry a tune? He has the most melodious voice in his generation. I like his version of Twist and Shout better than the Beatles' cover, which says a lot because for me The Beatles are Gods.
@Lorenzo84no Quo OWN this song even if it is Fogerty's. Springsteen should have left it alone.....PLEASE!
And Status Quo was/is "only" 5.
Status Quo version is the better one!!!!!!
E
Bruce was covering this song before anyone ever heard of Status Quo. Quos rendition is weak compare to this.
Wow.
A rare musical fusion moment where one can safely say; Status Quo are better than Bruce Sprinsgsteen.
I watched the Status Quo version and compared to John Fogerty and Bruce Springsteen, Status Quo comes in third.
Bruce Springsteen is number one and Fogerty is 2.
@@koreysmith3318 I agree. Springsteen's cover cooks, especially this performance!
Nah fogerty blows him out of the water but nice try Bruce
Nah... Quo is way better than this.
Of All the back-up singers there.... Only the White woman is wearing some Color?? Sorry... just the things that make me go Hmmmmmm??
very disappointing version but then I am one of the few that never really got Bruce, writes great songs but think his songs are better by others, I like Bruce but thyink at times he sounds a bit sloppy, especially live
