What an edifying lecture. Thank you David! (I'm the annoying student of Steven Fine 😅😂) but I remember our visit to the Numismatic Society with great fondness
Where can I buy your book NOT KOSHER, FORGERIES OF ANCIENT JEWISH AND BIBLICAL COINS? Amazon is selling copies for $150 and more - which is out of my price range.
Hi David, I have a temple coin year 3 .. what is the best way to store such a coin? I purchased it in Bethlehem in 2003.. It is in a gold setting,, can these coins be appraised whilst in the setting? I believe I paid 11K at the time..
They minted no shekels only selas (they called tetradrachmas Antioch Sela Neronis Sela Nervonis) How Bar Kochbas selas were equal to 2 dinaries if they just overstracted standard Romans tetradrachmas I know Roman Egyptian Hero’s tetradrachm was billon but Antioch was fine silver Maybe Egyptian tetradrachmas were equal to 2 dinaries ?
really fantastic video - thanks for posting

It could be a fake one
No doubt Bar Kochba needs money to rebuild the Temple

If Bar Kochba called himself Nasi not Melech Israel that means he himself has no messianic ambitions
They just took free money from Roman during revolt so overstracing money to Jewish Selas and zuzes were absolutely free
