Unfortunately, not all of us were financially literate early, I was 35 when I finally educated myself and started taking steps. I went from $176,000 in debt with zero savings or retirement to now, 2 years later, fully debt-free and over $1000,000 net worth. I know that doesn't SOUND like a lot, but l'm incredibly proud of it. Now I'm fast-tracking my wealth building (investing $400,000 annually) and don't owe a dime to anyone. It's a good feeling! Thanks Natalie Rose Strayer.

With Trump's re-election, both US stocks and Bitcoin are seeing strong gains. I'm eyeing the potential for more market volatility, but Bitcoin's all-time high is interesting. With inflation and interest rates on the rise, I'm wondering if this is a good time to dive deeper into stocks or focus on crypto for diversification. Any thoughts on balancing both?

Julia, I was analysing your video with Casey and this is the outcome:
    Question:
She is saying that under the Trump presidency and the fall of regulations the US could see a kind of UBI at the end of his presidency. Is this not a little bit blue eyed. Would this not completely go against everything Trump stands for. Would he not prevent a UBI payment to people which cannot work anymore
    ChatGPT said:
You're absolutely right to question the feasibility of Universal Basic Income (UBI) emerging under a Trump presidency, especially given his ideological stance and policy history. UBI-a system where all citizens receive a regular, unconditional payment-represents a significant shift in social policy that seems at odds with Trump's political philosophy and track record.
Why UBI Seems Unlikely Under Trump
    1. Trump's Policy Philosophy:
Focus on Deregulation and Business Growth:
Trump's policies traditionally emphasize reducing government intervention, lowering taxes, and promoting private enterprise rather than expanding social welfare programs.
A UBI system would require substantial government funding, likely through taxation or reallocation of resources, which conflicts with his tax-cutting priorities.
    Individual Responsibility:
Trump has often championed narratives of self-reliance and personal responsibility. UBI, which provides income regardless of employment status, runs counter to this ideology.
    2. Opposition to Welfare Expansion:
    Resistance to Safety Nets:
During his presidency, Trump proposed cuts to programs like food stamps and Medicaid, which aim to support vulnerable populations.
This track record suggests that expanding welfare to include UBI would be a significant departure from his established policies.
    Political Base Expectations:
Many within Trump’s political base prioritize fiscal conservatism and may view UBI as unnecessary government overreach or "handouts."
Challenges to UBI Even in a Deregulated Economy
    1. Economic Impact of Deregulation:
    Short-Term Growth vs. Long-Term Equity:
Deregulation might spur economic growth in the short term, but it often leads to increased inequality and weakened worker protections, which could exacerbate the very problems UBI aims to solve.
    Who Benefits?
Deregulation tends to benefit corporations and the wealthy disproportionately, leaving the middle and working classes vulnerable, potentially undermining the justification for UBI as a safety net.
    2. Funding UBI:
    Massive Cost:
Implementing UBI in the United States would require hundreds of billions, if not trillions, of dollars annually. Without significant tax reform-which Trump has historically resisted-it’s unclear how this would be financed.
    Political Opposition:
Many lawmakers, especially within Trump’s party, would likely oppose UBI on fiscal or ideological grounds, making it challenging to pass legislation even if Trump were open to the idea.
    Trump and UBI: A Contradiction?
    1. AI and Automation Argument:
Advocates for UBI often tie it to the rise of automation, arguing that as AI displaces jobs, a basic income will be necessary to support displaced workers.
While Trump has expressed interest in AI innovation, there’s little indication he supports addressing its societal impacts through progressive redistribution mechanisms like UBI.
    2. Contradictions in Policy Goals:
Promoting deregulation and technological growth while ignoring the societal consequences (e.g., job displacement) creates a disconnect.
Unless paired with policies like UBI, this could lead to greater inequality and social unrest, outcomes that Trump’s policies generally downplay.
    Could Deregulation Lead to UBI?
    Optimistic Viewpoint:
If deregulation spurs economic growth and generates significant surplus wealth, proponents argue this could fund UBI indirectly.
However, this assumes political will to redistribute wealth-a concept historically opposed by Trump and his allies.
    Realistic Challenges:
Even with economic growth, the structural changes required to implement UBI would face significant resistance.
The idea of UBI aligns more closely with progressive political platforms, such as Andrew Yang’s proposals, than with Trump’s conservative approach.
    Final Reflection
The assertion that UBI could arise from a Trump presidency seems overly optimistic and detached from his political identity. While deregulation might accelerate technological progress, the societal changes required for UBI-redistribution of wealth, a shift in ideological values, and broad bipartisan support-run counter to everything Trump stands for.
If UBI is to become a reality, it’s more likely to emerge from a progressive administration or through bipartisan initiatives driven by undeniable economic necessity, such as mass automation displacing workers.

Neither Trump nor Musk will ensure that any UBI they do initiate - if at all - will provide adequate living standards for people. They, and the voters who put them there, are much more likely to say that UBI is a "communist" idea, on the grounds that it is not slavishly tied to the market, which will immediately damn it from the start.
I cannot say that I have much faith in the future of the economy or the prospects of ordinary people with Trump in charge.
Trump made such a mess of things in his first term, inheriting a healthy economy from President Obama and trashing it, which included adding an unprecedented $8.4 Trillion to the US sovereign debt.
Trump now threatens to send inflation into double figures by doing very strange things with tariffs, a notion which many economists have observed that he does not seem to understand.
I wish that prospects were better than I've just described, but I fear they are not, and may be considerably worse. MAGA is a cult which celebrates both ignorance and a lack of compassion as lifestyle choices. The dominion of Chaos that will follow that is, almost by definition, a certainty.

The surveillance state is a government where the state extensively monitors the activities, communications, and behaviors of its citizens. General artificial intelligene AI changes how such a government operates.
GAI will analyze vast amounts of data from multiple sources (e.g., CCTV, internet activity, biometrics) in real-time. It can understand context, predict behavior, and make autonomous decisions with minimal human oversight. It has lmost unlimited scalability due to automation. It can monitor entire populations continuously and in detail without needing large human workforces. GAI systems can predict potential threats or dissent by analyzing patterns, even subtle ones, in behavior or communication. Human involvement in decision-making will decrease, leading to faster but less accountable actions. Near-total erosion of privacy, as GAI can decrypt data, identify anonymized individuals, and track them across platforms. Resistance becomes nearly impossible to organize or maintain without detection. GAI will be highly efficient at identifying potential risks or subversive activities, often preemptively. It wii be adaptable and capable of improving its surveillance strategies over time without significant reprogramming. General AI can monitor every individual in real-time and adapt. GAI will effectively eliminate covert resistance by predicting and neutralizing it.

The global climate crisis has come from lax regulations. And just wait until the crypto selloff happens once our tax dollars are used to pump the crypto market. That will be the result of lax regulations. Lax regulations over firearms has led to a lot of violence with firearms in the USA compared to other nations.

In your first few lines you lost all credibility by stating with incredible naïveté that whoever is in the presidency it is not going to affect our lives at all. And that level of ignorance is why we are in this dangerous situation. AI in the hands of people like Trump can be devastating. This development towards authoritarianism will end democracy, and lead to great harm and loss of life both here and around the world Unless people in huge numbers fight for democracy. For someone with your level of privilege and knowledge to use this platform to announce that it doesn’t matter is the height of irresponsibility. It sounds like you’re a supporter of right wing values.

    • @trancemusic2400
      @trancemusic2400 8 днів тому

Agreed, It’s surprising that an entrepreneur, who likely leans toward right-wing values, would put out such a naïve take in this video. Saying that it "won't matter" if someone like Trump is in power misses the bigger picture. His leadership isn’t just about policies-it’s about the harm his actions could cause to democracy and the lives of everyday people. Watching more of her videos, it’s clear she seems disconnected from what most people are going through, and honestly, it’s starting to feel off-putting.
What really worries me is the future. As AI becomes mainstream and starts taking jobs, the people left behind will probably be painted as lazy or unwilling to adapt. Leaders like Trump, who cater to billionaires and corporations, aren’t going to fight for those who are struggling. If anything, they’re more likely to double down on those stereotypes, making things even harder for the people who need help the most.
The idea that we could somehow reach a better future with someone like Trump in charge feels completely unrealistic. His track record shows he’s more interested in tearing down systems to suit his own goals than helping anyone else. Pretending it doesn’t matter who’s in power is not just wrong-it’s dangerous. Ignoring these realities doesn’t bring us closer to a utopia; it only makes things worse for those already struggling.

    • @christopheraaron2412
      @christopheraaron2412 11 днів тому +3

Yeah that's an interesting thought That's one of the reasons why I think I'm favor of negative income tax because you might be able to give more people the income support they need while not raising taxes as much in general.
However we also know that when all of this kicks in we're going to have a couple of deflators in the equation that is automation is going to be increasing unemployment and also AI powered design and automation is going to be reducing dramatically the cost of producing goods relative to what they would have been a few years ago.
Okay so the above when you're using what is called the modern money paradigm which I believe that both Democrats and Republicans have used will then that states that deficit spending is not necessarily inflationary unless of course government is competing directly with private enterprise for labor and resources.
Okay so what if there's very low demand for labor in the private sector and also the private sector is becoming far better at creating even more resources powered by AI and automation?
The fact of the matter is during 2019 we had a great economy going but it was powered by a trillion dollars a year of deficit spending even though the economy is running pretty hot.
Another fact is that a good deal that deficit spending was a result of reducing the tax rates on the investment class and the wealthier so than therefore a good deal of the excess demand that that kind of deficit spending would have created was basically buffered by the fact that a lot of that money that went to the top 1% is not contributing to demand and so that's part of the equation that helps to explain how that works.
And one more thing a 35 trillion dollar federal debt is also a 35 trillion dollar non-federal surplus to the entire rest of the economy and even other parts of the world and so then therefore a combination all these things can translate into providing a negative income tax support that might become a UBI later on is not going to necessarily be a problem.

Income tax breaks =/= automation tax breaks.
I do agree with you in principle that his approach to the existing economic paradigm doesn’t seem to gel with the potential upcoming impact of automation in a healthy way.
However, I’d like to make a couple of notes. Trump’s cabinet is almost certainly aware of a lot of the impacts of AI going forward. Whatever you have to say about Elon Musk, he’s at least aware of AI. JD Vance probably would also have a fairly articulate understanding of the impacts of it if you threw the numbers on a sheet of paper in front of him.
Additionally, as I noted above, there are different types of tax breaks. I think it’s not crazy to imagine that he might judge those two types of taxes very differently, especially given his cabinet, and especially given the upcoming social unrest we are undoubtedly set to face.
I’m not saying that the correct response will be had, but I am saying that if the response is incorrect, it may not simply be due to a binary black and white outlook on the situation by the people involved, and it will be because the situation is nuanced and difficult to handle correctly.

This is a really basic and short-sighted view of what UBI could be in the world of AI. Why would the government need to tax anybody. Why don't they just set up a business that's run completely by AGI that runs and maintains other businesses and helps them make money and provide services and products to people who want to buy them and starts building up a fund that would allow people to start opting out of working or for people who can't work. They could draw on this income being produced by AI. I honestly think we're on the verge of making a breakthrough in UBI. People need to stop thinking that government is the answer to this. It's not and never has been. UBI, when implemented by government, fails every single time.

The U.S. faces significant social challenges that require immediate action. Implementing a Universal Basic Income can relieve daily survival stresses, allowing people to relearn self-sufficiency. As AI advances and replaces many jobs, we must adapt our education system and embrace AI-assisted learning. Returning to self-sufficient local communities using modern technologies like 3D printing could be key. It's time to prioritize efficiency over profit and ensure the government protects individual rights.

Elevator Pitch: Transforming America into a Self-Sufficient, AI-Integrated Society
Imagine a United States where everyone's basic needs are met through a Universal Basic Income, freeing individuals to innovate, create, and rebuild local communities. By harnessing advanced AI technologies to collaborate with humans, we can enhance productivity and shift our focus from profit to efficiency and well-being.
Our plan revitalizes the pioneering spirit by promoting self-sufficient, decentralized communities reminiscent of the Homestead Acts and the "Go West" movement. We propose new legislation to grant land and resources for building sustainable villages, supported by policies that encourage local production, sustainable agriculture, and the Maker Movement's technological innovation.
We will reform education by integrating AI, offering personalized learning that accelerates skill acquisition and prepares citizens for the future job market. Legalizing and promoting Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) will empower communities to self-govern and thrive economically.
Drawing inspiration from successful models like intentional communities, ecovillages, and historical programs such as Job Corps and AmeriCorps, this nationwide initiative aims to create a resilient society. By prioritizing individual rights and community well-being, we can build a future where technology and humanity progress hand in hand, ready to face the challenges of tomorrow.

While yes as individuals we do have power to shape our lives, it can be a dangerous fallacy to think that because you or anyone made it, even when faced with really hard challenges, that everyone can "succeed". Everyone does not succeed even though they did their absolute best. It´s important to be hopeful and to believe in the power of the individual, because sometimes we can do what seems impossible. But systemic issues will always affect alot of people in really bad ways. Trump as president will hurt alot of human beings, period. Will he be beneficial for AI? Probably. There might be some positives even with the darkest of paths. But at what cost? Who will lose their lives? Was it just because they were not aware of their "potential"? I understand that AI and technology in general may be able to make peoples lives alot better soon.

11:44 speaking of the transition some of the things that might be occurring can help buffer the rocky road ahead and one of them is if unemployment rises and prices are falling then the Federal reserve starts intervening by aggressively lowering interest rates and maybe even going back to what is called quantitative easing that is the purchasing of government debt.
Then of course once we get to the point where zero or even negative interest rates is not enough the whole "pushing on a string" isn't sufficient to keep the economy running well then that's where fiscal stimulus has to occur and that can be both on the tax cuts for lower incomes and also more spending on certain things to help with transition until we see that we need a universal basic income or a comprehensive negative income tax system.
Basically the system we have can actually help in the transition and then pave the way for when we need to go to the UBI but there's also another factor that the infrastructure in this country is in bad shape and we are also going to need to double the electricity production along the way so these things will also counterbalance the unemployment problem.

As I understand it, you are most likely already a millionaire, however it is clear to me that you are still focused on earning money. This is the driver for you to write your books and start your new business. Presumably, once this age of abundance comes you will transition to doing something else - perhaps just working towards making people's lives better without looking for any personal wealth incentive. This is a concept that most people are simply not ready for.

Elon isn’t an innovator. He’s simply a trust fund baby and spoiled brat who used his inheritance (that was gained off his parents investments in African mining) to monopolize on his own investment opportunities. This man says he’s a top 20 player in Diablo! Do you know how much free time you need in order to even achieve that? That tells me that he doesn’t even run his own company.
He isn’t genius. He just takes credit for the achievements under the companies he owns. I can’t believe people take this man seriously.
I do not have faith in the Trump administration from not just their previous actions but lack of action as well.
Anyways. AGI and even ASI won’t mean much if most of us are not around to see it.

Hey dude, I’m all for different perspectives and leadership of this nation for the better of the Future. I didn’t think Trump was as bad as what people say but his ego showed me where his priorities lie. When you throw a pity party because you deny the evidence of losing a fair election you lost and incite a riot to overturn a democratic process to uphold the constitution on which this nation stands upon, you shouldn’t be allowed to run again.
Let’s also not forget how he didn’t condemn the white supremacists actions during the Charlottesville riot. Not to mention using verbiage like “China Virus” to antagonize Asian Americans during the covid pandemic that incited more assaults on Asian tied to his mishandling of language. Same thing with claiming Haitian migrants are eating pets and having dumb people antagonize these people of baseless claims with no tangible evidence.
If he was less selfish about setting his own pockets up along with other billionaires instead of helping the working class and uplifting impoverished communities then he probably wouldn’t have lost the 2020 election.
A respected world leader should have “Exceptional” content of Character. They should understand that their words hold power to influence people positively of negatively. They should know better than to stoop down to usage of profanity, belittle others, throw tantrums, or talk about deceased people’s penises….

      @
Them being bad is the least of my worries. They’re both corrupt and incompetent. Trump is clearly a man who used the presidency to monopolize on his own gains and the billionaire class and disregards the efforts of the struggling “middle class”.
He a man who clearly lacks moral integrity for the position he holds that represents the people of this nation. He failed to condemn the white supremacists actions during Charlottesville riots, he’s used the term “China Virus” loosely which caused an influence of violence and assult and Asian American, He recently claimed “with no substance or tangible evidence” that Haitian migrants were eating pets which made his supporters actively attack these communities where these people live.
He’s a horrible man with terrible character. The same man that threw his own pity party because he was in denial of the reality that he lost a fair election and incited his stupid supporters to storm the U.S. capitol riot and disrupt the processes of certifying the 2020 election results. A tradition meant to uphold the democratic processes of our nations constitution. He’s desecrated that values of respect the American People by not owning up to his stupidity and I truly think he should be in prison for that. That act is a literal stain on U.S. history.
I don’t really expect much from a baby man who whines and throws tantrums when he loses, uses verbiage that effect citizens negatively, commits felonies, pays more taxes to China than America, sells the word of God for $60 with his name on it, stoops to using profanity instead of upholding a better usage of character, states false information without tangible evidence, cosplays as low wage workers for publicity and talks about a deceased person’s penis. He’s pathetic.
You are a fool if you think him and Elon are here for your best interests.
I hope you enjoy every moment of his presidency and when your life of prosperity and comfort crumbles due to his selfish negligence, you should smile and keep it to yourself. :)

yikes. that position seems optimistic and hopeful, which is nice, but ignores who gets hurt in the process. really drives me crazy that people are willing to elect the most flawed person in america just so that eggs will cost $.50 less or AI will improve 2% faster. Aside from the fact that I don't think trump will be good for anything, even if he is - which would be a wonderful surprise - it still wouldn't make up for the harm he is doing to minorities, democracy, international security and peace, etc. And in terms of AI: I have no faith that the party which constantly seeks to cut social programs will suddenly push for free money for all (ie ubi). If we're unlucky enough to have an ai/robotics takeover of the economy in trump's term, it will be a disaster.

This technological advancement promises to revolutionize financial stability, potentially eradicating poverty and reducing reliance on social security payments. By harnessing the power of AI, we could witness an era where everyone enjoys a sustained income, ensuring economic security and prosperity for all.

You are assuming that once big corporations implement this technology and triple their profits, somehow they are going to touch their hearts and give us some? In what reality is that?
Peter Thiel in a speech once said, "To survive as corporation, you must dominate the market you have to be a monopoly" Tell me if that sounds like a guy who would care about UBI 🤦

@ChurchofCthulhu Yes, like what is happening now, big corporations get swallowed by bigger ones. Airlines, banks, grocery stores, pharmacies, insurance companies, health insurance companies the list goes on... They hold a monopoly on the markets. Ultimately, there will only be rich and poor... To stay rich, you need poor people. Rich don't need no middle class.

This said, I just hope you wont be disappointed by the consequences. Because I see alot of inconsistencies in the situation... First one being open source... not sure Elon Musk sees things this way (profits for me, exploitation for the rest)... then about the sharing of the productivity gains and wealth created by AI... if mass unemployment occurs (more than likely) not sure these self-interest driven people are keen on the UBI idea... the shock will be brutal in America for people who are not already wealthy enough to "retire early" or have already a passive income I'm affraid.

Besides, I can't deny that some regulation lifting allowing acceleration in AI is great (that's our curse in here). But accelerating being good, accelerating to a wall or a cliff... less good. I just cross fingers it doesn't end up in a cyberpunk dystopia with technological poverty generalised in America (because their economic playbook is outdated and not aligned with the technological change coming: post labor economy...)
