  • “NYPD’s Women at Ground Zero,” features the stories of women officers and civilians who selflessly served during and after the large-scale terrorist attack in Lower Manhattan. It recounts the experience of Moira Smith, who was the only city policewoman to die on Sept. 11. It is anchored by interviews with women officers who survived to reflect on their shared history from some of the highest levels in the department, including Chief of Interagency Operations Theresa Tobin, Chief of Transportation Kim Y. Royster, and Assistant Chief Martine Materasso, the Counterterrorism Bureau commander.

Why not honor both men and women instead of one gender over the other? Both men and women lost their lives that day please do not forget to honor both and do not push political agendas for 'equality' as it is extremely disrespectful to those that have lost their lives it is the 20th anniversary tomorrow and the last thing anyone would want is for them to be disrespected do not destroy whatever dignity and honor you have left

Tobin wasn’t only there on details. She didn’t work in the first until the following year. Good boss, yes. There everyday for the aftermath.. no.

Chief Terri Tobin rocks as a cop and a person , gender plays no part in her ability to lead and her accomplishments .

I disagree. I think women make excellent leaders for reasons that are innately female.

Why define our 403 Hero First Responders that were slaughtered by gender ? Unfortunately we seem to be losing another few each month due to their toxic ecposure, they were Firefighters and Police Officers that stood together and it is a disservice to divide them by any metric IMHO.

Why didn’t you talk to the females from the precinct involved. That woman talking about the morgue was never in the temporary morgue. These people were there for a few days. It was my precinct. I worked there for years.. I had to breathe that crap every single day. I’m fine. I hate hearing this nonsense.. it’s embarrassing. I knew capt Tobin.. she was nice enough, she was only there a short time and it was after 9/11. She knows me bc of letters written to her thanking me for the job I did. This is complete bs.

COPS WERE locking escape doors so no one coming down could get thru cause cops were tossing 10 pound bricks of gold out the windows on the blank side to buddies that hauled it all away. apparently they forgot to go back and unlock the doors..
