- Thank you for watching. This is instruction video to my students in Spencerian class. Writing speed is slower than my usual hand, as I want to show how letters should be done clearly.

Ok so we're all ignoring that song? I feel like the queen of England just died
It hit me like a ton of bricks
Seriously,, it's undigestable
Those shades are the hardest to do for me . I love all the old handwritten styles . I wish I had learned them in school, but too bad they weren’t teaching them anymore .
Thank you so much .... I was tired of requesting people to hand me the guide sheets but u r such an osum human... many people share their art on social media but only a few genuine people share their techniques . Thanku so so much... u r such a wonderful human being 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
So beautiful!!!! Masterpiecee
Parabéns pelo vídeo e muito obrigado por postar.
Abraços
Excellent!
You have such a good hand... What a gift you have... I love all of your works...
It's mostly practice.
This is a great help during my practice. Thank you for sharing.
Hoang... Beautiful spencerian example, but and the "y" and "W"?
It means he was feeling it while execution 😍😍❤️
would be so nice if you can do more demonstrations with Spencerian writing + flourishes. Also, if you can give some insights about the paper that you use - believe you print the guideline on your favourite paper? I always struggle with the paper... Thank you so much in advance
I am using mostly normal photocopy paper to practice. You will fail and try a lot so don't waste money on fancy paper until you want to make a finished piece. Rhodia and Midori paper pads are my favorite.
Wonderful! But I have one question, do you rest your wrist on the table or do you use the grip the books indicate?
Yes my wrist slightly touches table
This is awesome! Which ink are you using? Mine always feather along the printed grid..
Hey!
I got a problem. My writing style has some characters some lines of which going upward have to be broader than just a thin line. Does it mean I wont be able to use a fountain pen? Are there any nibs that let you make broad lines even when you make upgoing lines?
That’s probably you’re using wrong nib or wrong pen angle
What's the song?
This is a wonderful video! Thank you so much for posting it. Would you mind telling us about the materials you are using, especially the type of ink? Thanks.
I use Leonardt Principal nib, walnut ink and PaperOne 80gsm paper
+Dao Huy Hoang Thanks!
So nice script! However, where is a large W?
+하재희 I did not write full alphabet because of some privacy policy.
Cái này áp dụng tiếng việt dc ko ạ
excellent video, just what I was looking for! I was wondering, in this video the tails for letters like p, g, etc seem shorter. Is this an important thing?
Good ratio is 3:1 to 5:1 in lowercase g. Lowercase p is 3:1 but 1 go up and 1 go down baseline
Bút này thì mua ở đâu hả bạn ( mình ở HCM ) 😁
Where is y
how do we join your spencerian class
Lovely work Mr. HoangQuestion is what's the name of sound track used here?Regards
The song is "Whither Must I Wander?" by Ralph Vaughan Williams. I don't know who is performing in this recording, bur I recommend Bryn Terfel's version.
UN1137 I'm sure it has some effect on the writing. it's as if you are transported in a different time.
Nobody noticed he missed the lower case y?
Which nib do you use?
Looks like a Leonardt Principal
you missed the lower case 'y' and the upper case "W"
J
Is it Hunt 101 you are using? Isn't it too soft for spencerian ?
That is perfect. I prefer gillot 303 and Brause ef66. Only thing is that the nib is quite stiff compared with the gillot.
Can you write fast in this script?
Yes, you can all you have to do is practice for a long time
if spencerian was meant to be a running hand why people write it with stoppages and not a completing a word/letter in single stroke..
that's how you do the "x"?! I've been doing it wrong all this time! :O
You forget the y in lowercase and the w in uppercase.
the music...my god it's horrendous. I muted it and could then enjoy the instruction. Really on videos like this music (any kind) is just a distraction.
