How To Upcycle A Plain White Shirt Into A Beautiful Lacy Tuxedo Shaped Top / Tunic

- Plain white button down shirts (men's or women's) are typically plentiful at the thrift stores, but what can you do to jazz them up? Well, I have a super fun idea for you that just requires some simple sewing. We are going to make an unique one-of-a-kind tuxedo top. The tails are made from a thrifted oval tablecloth and the blouse / tunic is decorated and embellished with parts of the tablecloth and lots of vintage lace, creating beautiful layers and lovely details. You should ask viewers to send a photo of their upcycled item with or without a before shot. Every now and then you could put up a video with maybe 5 peoples 'artwork' as a way to thank them. It would be super cool to see the designs.

This would be a great way to get a white shirt that can't be seen through. However, I would not want a shirt so long in the back. I don't wear a white blouse very often; but, I do own several very nice white blouses. The only way I will ever get a white shirt/blouse that I really want to wear will be to make one the way I want it. Your white Tuxedo shaped Tunic looks beautiful on you. Enjoy.

This turned out soooooo pretty!!!❤ My obsessively symmetrical brain was screaming in pain watching you do the collar, lol, but once you totally finished it, I was ok😂❤❤❤❤ I bet you love Pretty Angel and Paisley and Vine brands, like I do, with all the ruffles, layered fabrics, and mismatched buttons❤ The mismatched buttons would actually be the perfect little finishing touch for this project, especially if you had some different fancy ones😊❤

Tracey! I adore you! 😘You are an inspiration, an idea generator and a designer! Tell me please - do you process internal seams??? What if you sell and your customers have no complaints? For some this is NOT critical...... but some people find fault and are capricious?🤓🤔
This is why I often do seams on the outside. I disclose in my listing that inside seams are finished with a ziz zag stitch and clipped close. I have found a lot of creative ways to avoid plain raw seams. Nobody ever complained.🤗❤❤❤
