Hi George The heavier setup is below mate: - Rod - Shimano Maikuro II Spinning Rod 12ft 5-10kg - Reel - Shimano Sedona 4000 - Braid - 20lb 300m (forget the brand) - Leader - 15lb Fluro
@@waterassassin Hi! I'm a beginner to fishing as a whole but want to start beach fishing. What size rod do you recommend as I'm stuck between a 10ft rod or a 12ft. Thanks
@@idkhowtofish hi mate. Go with a 10ft rod if you are deciding between the two. 10ft is a little more versatile and you could potentially use it off the rocks as well.
@@waterassassin Thanks man! I'm thinking of going in a couple weeks. Any beach recommendations and know how to spot the aus salmon? Trying to learn how to read a beach and find gutters and stuff like that but I don't get it 😅 Any tips? Thanks!
Thanks for your comment RAJ. Mate, I find the easiest way to locate the school is to get up as high as you can on the beach (on the dunes if there is one available) and look up and down the beach for dark sections. A school will look like a really big weed bed (the size of a couple of school busses). In this video you can just make out the darker sections behind the waves. This particular beach is in the National Park, but only good when there is no wind (doesn’t happen often). My advice is to go to Caves Beach (which is a heap more protected).
@@raj1634 thanks for liking and subscribing mate. Honestly the best thing you can do is to get those lures out as far as you can in the surf. I can almost guarantee you will catch something very soon. Let me know if you do mate
What beach is this?
What type of outfits were you running for this vid. Preferably your heavier setup. Cheers
