Salt off makes a inline injector that you hook up directly to your hose. You can spry just water or the salt off and water solution. Makes all of this much quicker. For those heavy build up spots, the bug sprayer is a great option to have. The dispenser will help flush the motor salt out as well. Make sure you start your engine and make sure it is hot. If you do not you are only flushing part of the salt out of your motor (Thermostat has to be open, or it is just a partial flush). Use the muffs, use just water until the motor gets to temp then open up the valve on the injector and let it clean all the salt out of your motor. When the bowl of the injector turns back clear you have used all of your salt off.

I fish hard and get a lot of waves over the bow and a lot of fish on the deck in Massachusetts sometimes 100 stripers a day ,or100 sea bass . I live my Lund but I’ll never buy aluminum again there’s no way to stop corrosion from heavy use , sure weekend warriors are fine that catch a few fish and use the boat four times a month But for someone who guided like me it’s not practical.
We bought a V175 combo (Tracker aluminum fish n ski) new last year in Illinois and moved to the Gulf Coast this year. Frustrated that this boat isn't typically. used for saltwater, I'm wondering if instead of selling and losing our asses on it, we could somehow modify the boat....buy a new trailer, replace the carpet with seadeck...what do you think? We're having no luck selling it unfortunately.
Its a very nice boat. I would get an aluminum trailer and I would wait until the carpet tears up before replacing it. And there are a lot of good flooring options so take a look at what's out there

G3 Center Consoles are becoming popular in Montana believe it or not. A lot of guys are running Jet outboards on them, but now I'm thinking I might buy a G3 CC DLX with a Yamaha 150 with a prop like yours and run it down to GA for a couple months fishing the near shore stuff. Thanks for all the tips, it helped a lot! BTW- I'm a big guy 6'4" 245, do you think your boat would fit me or would I be better off jumping up to the 22'?
When top flushing your Yamaha, better not to run it at all. It's through the lower water intake that the impeller draws water. If there is no water entering in the right direction, it is possible to damage the water pump.
Question bud. I just got a new G3 boat similar to this. Does your boat have tack weld marks down the sides? My wife says I ordered an expensive boat and it came pre dented? Just curious - the dents bother me but if it's standard I can live with it. Thanks
I love my Lund but I’ll never buy an aluminum bust for saltwater use again , not worth the hassle. Eventually anyone will have problems with aluminum boats in salt water especially if you are taking waves over the bow and salt water is getting in places that can’t be cleaned.
I am very happy with my boat. And fiberglass boats are getting lighter every year so there isn't as much of a difference any more. After having an aluminum boat, I don't think I'll go back to glass.
I like it more than Fiberglass in many ways, only issue is the noise when we are in the ocean jigging. Any methods to reduce to hull noise when the waves hitting it. Thanks 🙏
Honestly not really. The only thing that you can do to reduce noise is to make sure you don't have dead space in the hull between the hull and the foam. If your hull is fully foamed then it is as quite as a fiberglass boat. But that isn't always doable unfortunately.

All boats collect water under the deck. So spraying the outside does not prevent corrosion inside the boat where you cant see it

Dude you wouldn't phase that boat one bit. I'm 230lbs and we take the whole family out and are still rolling just under 50mph

Get an old esky full of water and put the prop in it for a flush mate. Let’s you run it on land

I’m curious about an aluminum saltwater bay boat. Are you happy with yours? Ride rough due to weight ratio?

Lost Angler thanks. I live on the Ga coast, and just not sure it would be a good inshore boat here? We have 9 ft tides, and it can get rough quick.
