As for shows, Kurulus Osman series about Osman the son of Ertugrul who founded Ottoman Empire & Alparslan Buyuk Seljuklu & Uyanis Buyuk Seljuklu about the Selljuk empire, the empire where Halime Ertugrul's wife came from. Too bad they havent been officially translated yet but you could find fans translations if you search hard enough.

I have watched this series 6 times so far and I'm on the 7th time. It has 476 episodes but I can't stop watching it. Netflix shut it down but it is on UA-cam so I'm happy now. Even though I am an American born Catholic I have enjoyed watching the history of the Muslim of that era. The actors are really good, the story line is wondeful. There is alot of history in this series. I can't stop watching it. I hope any one who has watched the entire series agrees with me.

Finished watching the whole series then found this in recommended videos and watched again the beginnings of this great man Ertugrul Ghazi. He was undoubtedly a genius, as strong, righteous and courageous as a man can possibly be - a true Muslim. What stupendous life he must have lived to touch people like this in this day and age! Turkish people (the actors and all the production team of this show) did humankind a great favour to make this exquisite rendition of a great warrior's life. May the real Ertugrul rests in eternal peace and may the Muslim Ummah produce more heroes like him.
This was based on true events but many things are not documented so alot is fiction. Like the many betrayals kidnappings. The Kayi ending up in season 2 with the dodurga this never happened. The Kayi hat 1000 s of tents and were a very huge and powerful tribe. The kayi are one of the 12 oguz tribes of hundreds of tribea only the oguz tribes were allowed to become leaders .Ertugrul dedicated his life in the service of Islam,also he followed the orders of the Sultan keykubat(Ruler of the Selcuk Empire) he fougth at his side and he fought alot. The Kayis do seperate and Ertugrul moves to Byzantinne after becoming Govener he doesnot fight alot anymore but diplomatically makes peace with the christian goveners Osman takes over the Leadership of his tribe.

So, I gathered already that most of the events shown in the series must have been fiction. But it is a wonderful series nevertheless, and Engin Altan was nothing short of marvelous playing the great Islamic hero. The likes of Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth and so on don't even come close to this Turkish actor.
@@emeraldradiancemadinamunawwara Engin Altan Düzyatan is a learned actor he is not someone from the street. no he is a professional. there are not many nowadays that compete with his skills. yes he was very well in his role also using a blade is a very tough and hard thing to do even for actors but thumbs up. One knows he does it for the art first place not like many actors nowadays only for the money. He plays in a new series Barbaross. unfortunately the documentation of Turkish /Ottoman facts started with the 7.Sultan Fatih Mehmet, so in details many things were just fiction. as for Osman the first alot is known he was very smart and fierce in battle just like his father but he was also very wise. but I dont like the actor which plays him he doesnt carry the weight that Engin has I believe because just like Al Pacino Engin is also from the theater he did theater acting. you have to focus more and cannot permit errorrs or cover them up quickly unlike when a director shouts cut !!which only cost film and you can repeat your mistakes. I hope that Engin stays in the turkish screen and doesnot go to Hollywood or anything like that..
@@omerdama2798 I agree with you, the Osman Gazi actor (probably better looking and more handsome than Altan) doesn't have the presence or gaze like Altan. Altan, in some of the scenes, is literally a lion personified. I have never seen such acting chops anywhere, no Hollywood actors can ever be anything like Ertugrul as played by Engin Altan. I also have never seen anyone ride a horse so well on screen either, when Altan is on horseback, he looks like he's sitting on a throne. His back never bends with the gallopings of the horse. Amazing performance, indeed. We loved the series in Pakistan because it shows the revival of Islamic traditions and values. We were not aware that the Turks have such glorious Islamic past. Are you Turkish?

I think he believed he was Ertugrul when he played. the turkish history dates from Prophet Nuh(aleyhisalam) from his son Yapeh came the turks.there were many turkish states.my anceistors come from a warior tribe but we are not Kayi this tribe even fought and protected Mustafa Kemal Pasa.yes there is alot of history the Turkish republic is nothing at his self. Azerbejcan and many other turkish states are brothers,cousins, Ertugtul lived during the Selcuks Empire and after came with beginning of Osmans rule 600 years Ottoman rule. and many people dont know much about Ottoman Empire history. the Ottoman Sultans were so humble that there were people thinking they are naive. no one can put together scenarion about ottomans because we dont have an example. they were pious and humble and very thinking in details trying not to hurt ones feelings

While one watches Kurulus Osman I recommend for to watch Payitaht Abdulhamid; about the reign of the great sultan Abdulhamid (may Allah have mercy on him); that will widen one's horizon of thoughts as to how a part of the world was under such a just leader fighting injustice of the west and efforts to suppress the world!
What brilliant acting, magnificent entry by Titus. The costumes and way of living shown makes the whole production so realistic. The gregorian chants when they show the crusaders and Shaman chanting when they show the Mongols brilliant series. The plots, treachery, spys, surprises, sacrifices the direction is extraordinary.

This drama explains so many things and gives a lesson on how important is your cultural traditions, your religion, your loyalty, your obedience, and your love to God. It is shown that equal Law for all is crucial for building a prosperous and peaceful society.

I’m live in the US. I love this movie so much. After I posted the first time I watched it three more times. Engin. Altan is the best actor. He And Halime are the perfect couple, so loving toward each other. By the way, I’m Christian.
I'm American, and a Christian born and raised. I can't express the amount of love i have for this series, everything is top notch. The way they talk about Allah(God) and how they let Jews and Christians practice their religion and faith, and they don't force their religion on them or they do it on their free will converting to Muslim, i respect a lot more. As a matter of fact, when Helena converted to Muslim becoming Hafsa, i couldn't help but smile. Same thing with Ares, once he had the dream with Ibn Arabi i couldn't help but smile.
If they (ottomans) were forcing and colonizing the nations that they conquered (like the way Spanish did to Latin world) then Greeks, Arabs, Hungarians, Romans, Bulgarians etc both were Muslims and they were speaking Turkish.

Meine Eltern haben damals schon angeschaut, habe aber nie beachtet. Aber jetzt verstehe ich. Wirklich super gemacht. Bis jetzt beste Serie, was ich eigentlich als alter Scifi- und Startrack-Fan gesehen habe. Der Karakter Süleyman Sah und der Mongole Boyan sind wirklich super Schauspieler. Natürlich Ertugrul, Turgut und die anderen auch. Auch die Soundtracks und die Kostüme sind sehr gut gemacht. Vorallem wahre Geschichte ohne viel Fiktion. Viele Grüße aus Deutschland
I was born in America and my parents came from India. We are Sikh but not very religious. We watched this series together everyday for 3 years on Netflix. Even if we were working, we would just have it on in the background. There are truths and lessons that people of all ages and faiths can relate to. My parents now watch Osman in Urdu, but not me because I dont understand that language. I joke with my parents that I understand more Turkish from watching Ertugrul Gazi. But it is true. At least the music in Osman is the same and I love the music. But i can tell the acting and chemistry between the actors is far superior in Dirilis. I hope to one day visit Turkey. My parents have already visited and enjoyed it there very much.

Hands down the BEST series I have ever watched. This deserves an Oscar. I absolutely enjoyed it and was fascinated by the outstanding performance of every character. They nailed it just like their ancestors did. Not only was the Ottoman Empire one of the best empires, along with the other empires: The Mughals (I am one of the descendants). I hope they would create a series on The Mughals next. These empires will always remain the greatest in history. Power and respect is given by God and this drama reveled the truth about Islam, their faith and the lost history of Muslims. It gives you an entirely different perspective on Islam and Muslims. I hope to see more series like this. You guys deserve all the recognition. Much respect to Turkey for created this fascinating and powerful series!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I just finished the series. No word of praise can be enough for the team ertugrul. Its just seems like its a dua came true. Apart from the lead roles who left us in awe , we were convinced that in the history of cinema there will be no villain like NOYAN and SADETTIN KOPEK. here comes Drago,Beybolat and sirma khatun. Each and every character was made for the role. I read somewhere in comments that whether the role was made for Engin or Engin was made for role. And I am wondering how did they find Mother Hayma whose warmth we are feeling. At the end of the series I learned how to talk to Allah. My faith is revived. Mehmet Bozdag you were chosen by THEM (white beards)to do this..God bless
unfortunately Bozdag is in it for the money, he didnt use so much Islamic literature as one expects like in those days people were so strong connected to Allah they didnt cry when someone was martyred but here is so much (our era ) drama or showing praying in congression until people complained about it. Its a peace that is not much around like the Ezaan is heard barely although they had mosques and had a huge camp. anyway forget Bozdag! the Actors I liked best were the ones who Played Noyan, and even the annoying Saadetin Köpek his performenc as Vizer to the Sultan was applauded by me.

I have watched this series 6 times so far and I'm on the 7th time. It has 476 episodes but I can't stop watching it. Netflix shut it down but it is on UA-cam so I'm happy now. Even though I am an American born Catholic I have enjoyed watching the history of the Muslim of that era. The actors are really good, the story line is wondeful. There is alot of history in this series. I can't stop watching it. I hope any one who has watched the entire series agrees with me.

Finished watching the whole series then found this in recommended videos and watched again the beginnings of this great man Ertugrul Ghazi. He was undoubtedly a genius, as strong, righteous and courageous as a man can possibly be - a true Muslim. What stupendous life he must have lived to touch people like this in this day and age! Turkish people (the actors and all the production team of this show) did humankind a great favour to make this exquisite rendition of a great warrior's life. May the real Ertugrul rests in eternal peace and may the Muslim Ummah produce more heroes like him.
This was based on true events but many things are not documented so alot is fiction. Like the many betrayals kidnappings. The Kayi ending up in season 2 with the dodurga this never happened. The Kayi hat 1000 s of tents and were a very huge and powerful tribe. The kayi are one of the 12 oguz tribes of hundreds of tribea only the oguz tribes were allowed to become leaders .Ertugrul dedicated his life in the service of Islam,also he followed the orders of the Sultan keykubat(Ruler of the Selcuk Empire) he fougth at his side and he fought alot. The Kayis do seperate and Ertugrul moves to Byzantinne after becoming Govener he doesnot fight alot anymore but diplomatically makes peace with the christian goveners Osman takes over the Leadership of his tribe.

So, I gathered already that most of the events shown in the series must have been fiction. But it is a wonderful series nevertheless, and Engin Altan was nothing short of marvelous playing the great Islamic hero. The likes of Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth and so on don't even come close to this Turkish actor.

He plays in a new series Barbaross. unfortunately the documentation of Turkish /Ottoman facts started with the 7.Sultan Fatih Mehmet, so in details many things were just fiction. as for Osman the first alot is known he was very smart and fierce in battle just like his father but he was also very wise. but I dont like the actor which plays him he doesnt carry the weight that Engin has I believe because just like Al Pacino Engin is also from the theater he did theater acting. you have to focus more and cannot permit errorrs or cover them up quickly unlike when a director shouts cut !!which only cost film and you can repeat your mistakes. I hope that Engin stays in the turkish screen and doesnot go to Hollywood or anything like that..

Altan, in some of the scenes, is literally a lion personified. I have never seen such acting chops anywhere, no Hollywood actors can ever be anything like Ertugrul as played by Engin Altan. I also have never seen anyone ride a horse so well on screen either, when Altan is on horseback, he looks like he's sitting on a throne. His back never bends with the gallopings of the horse. Amazing performance, indeed. We loved the series in Pakistan because it shows the revival of Islamic traditions and values. We were not aware that the Turks have such glorious Islamic past. I'm American, and a Christian born and raised. I can't express the amount of love i have for this series, everything is top notch. The way they talk about Allah(God) and how they let Jews and Christians practice their religion and faith, and they don't force their religion on them or they do it on their free will converting to Muslim, i respect a lot more. As a matter of fact, when Helena converted to Muslim becoming Hafsa, i couldn't help but smile. Same thing with Ares, once he had the dream with Ibn Arabi i couldn't help but smile.

Es wird eine universelle Gerechtigkeit vermittelt, unabhängig von Religionsunterschiede. Das finde ich super. Ich habe diese Serie erst seit paar Wochen entdeckt. Meine Eltern haben damals schon angeschaut, habe aber nie beachtet. Aber jetzt verstehe ich. Wirklich super gemacht. Bis jetzt beste Serie, was ich eigentlich als alter Scifi- und Startrack-Fan gesehen habe.
Der Karakter Süleyman Sah und der Mongole Boyan sind wirklich super Schauspieler. Natürlich Ertugrul, Turgut und die anderen auch.
Auch die Soundtracks und die Kostüme sind sehr gut gemacht. Vorallem wahre Geschichte ohne viel Fiktion.

I was born in America and my parents came from India. We are Sikh but not very religious. We watched this series together everyday for 3 years on Netflix. Even if we were working, we would just have it on in the background. There are truths and lessons that people of all ages and faiths can relate to. My parents now watch Osman in Urdu, but not me because I dont understand that language. I joke with my parents that I understand more Turkish from watching Ertugrul Gazi. But it is true. At least the music in Osman is the same and I love the music. But i can tell the acting and chemistry between the actors is far superior in Dirilis. I hope to one day visit Turkey. My parents have already visited and enjoyed it there very much.

Hands down the BEST series I have ever watched. This deserves an Oscar. I absolutely enjoyed it and was fascinated by the outstanding performance of every character. They nailed it just like their ancestors did. Not only was the Ottoman Empire one of the best empires, along with the other empires: The Mughals (I am one of the descendants). I hope they would create a series on The Mughals next. These empires will always remain the greatest in history. Power and respect is given by God and this drama reveled the truth about Islam, their faith and the lost history of Muslims. It gives you an entirely different perspective on Islam and Muslims. I hope to see more series like this. You guys deserve all the recognition. Much respect to Turkey for created this fascinating and powerful series!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Completed season 1 in just 6 days...cant stop myself from watching this.. ITS Just Superb, amazing acting,beautiful location and the most important these are based on True stories....

I just finished the series. No word of praise can be enough for the team ertugrul. Its just seems like its a dua came true. Apart from the lead roles who left us in awe , we were convinced that in the history of cinema there will be no villain like NOYAN and SADETTIN KOPEK. here comes Drago,Beybolat and sirma khatun. Each and every character was made for the role. I read somewhere in comments that whether the role was made for Engin or Engin was made for role. And I am wondering how did they find Mother Hayma whose warmth we are feeling. At the end of the series I learned how to talk to Allah. My faith is revived. Mehmet Bozdag you were chosen by THEM (white beards)to do this..God bless
unfortunately Bozdag is in it for the money, he didnt use so much Islamic literature as one expects like in those days people were so strong connected to Allah they didnt cry when someone was martyred but here is so much (our era ) drama or showing praying in congression until people complained about it. Its a peace that is not much around like the Ezaan is heard barely although they had mosques and had a huge camp. anyway forget Bozdag! the Actors I liked best were the ones who Played Noyan, and even the annoying Saadetin Köpek his performenc as Vizer to the Sultan was applauded by me.
After watching tons of TV series, this is the best of all time
