I found Mr. Bungle when I was 22, in 1994. Eternally grateful to the friend who introduced me, somewhat by accident, to this great band. One forms his taste in music so randomly...
How to describe Mr. Bungle - I think it depends on which record you’re listening to. The self titled is indeed like a haunted carousel filled with insane clowns that can play some awesome music. 😂
Hey, Smitty...😃Tnx a lot for this reaction man, I see you carefully checked out my big comment on Carousel and the playlist below and I'm so honored.🙂 Glad you liked it... Now, get this: I took a quick look at it and what was I thinking when I made that list and left out maybe the biggest hit on this album - "My Ass is on Fire"...?!😀Yeah, that's what the song is called 4 real...~!😄So, you`ve listened the first one on that list, Stubb (a Dub) - a poetic and sensitive song despite its goofiness, about guitarist Trey`s dog who was about to die while making the song that poor thing inspired 🥲- as you could witness: a song with zero heavy guitar in it!😃But at the end of that song, you also heard the intro to the next, radically different song, a wild heavy metal madness called "My Ass is on Fire", and I think this song should really be the next for you! 🙂I mean, next on the album-> next to listen.😉I repeat, I don`t know why I left it off the list, I guess I was in a hurry ?!😄😀It`s a circus-metal "spectacle" with such a heavy ending that it`s hard to believe.🤪😎Also, from the official video (if you decide to check it, which I advise) you`ll get a glance on their live antics and their stage appearance circa 1991, yeah - when Slipknot didn`t even exist, and you`ll get the whole picture about influences and stuff! 😏Yeah man, do that and then you can go on to the `funky-monkey` "Squeeze Me Macaroni" or whatever's next on that list...😉Man, how could I forget "My Ass is on Fire", their biggest banger from this album!?😃🤓Ahh, nevermind...😊Just do the logical thing and get on with it...🙂 Like I said, the songs on this album `Mr.Bungle` are connected with a funny system of intros and outs within each song, similar happens with the next album `Disco Volante` from 1995, but luckily it stops with the 3rd album from 1999, `California`...🙃 I know, it`s crazy, like everything they do.🤣Thanks in advance, chump, I can't wait to see your reaction to that...😀😋😎On behalf of every Bungle fan, thanks and c-ya! 🙂😊
How I describe Mr. Bungle: Funky Cardiacs. Which really means you should check out some Cardiacs (Firey Gun Hand off Sing to God has one of the wildest guitar solos on tape or if you want a full assault on the senses, the music video for Tarred and Feathered is buck wild).
Hello from New England.. I would explain it like being on a heroic dose of acid while attending a black circus lol... You'd need to read and write music in order to pull off a song like this.. This reminds me of Frank Zappa style weirdness...Peace ☮️
If you ever had a dog that refused to die... no matter how much cancer it's filled with... two cataracts...shitting its self... but NOT dying... you'd understand this song a little better... it's funny...but...it has teeth.
This song is really funny, this song is really entertaining. This song is also about the guitar player's dog that had to be put down when it got gleucoma. So yeah. Me. Bungle,
Weirdest band ever. I am a huge fan of Faith No More. But every projet including Mike Patton and Trevor Dunn (bass) are so f**ing weird!!! The song Carry Stress in the jaw is a total brain cross over. Each of there albums Have is own style. That’s the Magic of the Mr Bungle universe! 😉🤘
It's great to see people still get high to this music. I know I did, in the olden times

Here's how you describe Bungle - A band made of Machine Elves. Think about it.
Greatest band ever with each album spanning new ground!

I recommend from Bungle Quote Unquote, Squeeze Me Macaroni, Carry Stress in the Jaw, Desert Search for Techno Allah, Sweet Charity, Goodbye Sober Day
Mr Bungle is brilliant fun, or funny brilliance.
Funky circus metal, produced by an avant-garde jazz producer. Written and performed by incredibly talented high school outcasts.
I love that shit. I need to get back to them soon.
