- Manufactured in five generations in the 1960s and 1970s, it was replaced by the downsized Pontiac Grand Am. From 1988 to 1993 the name was resurrected for a badge-engineered version of the Daewoo LeMans manufactured by Daewoo in South Korea.
It is named for the French city of Le Mans which has been the site of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the world's oldest active endurance sports car race since it began in 1923.
Listed at www.vintagecarconnections.com, sold in 2021.
I had a 68 LeMans. I sold it to my best friend and he cloned it into a GTO. That happens all too often. The LeMans is an awesome car in it's own right. This one is gorgeous.
Agreed! I sold this one recently, but I just picked up another black 68 to work on. Great cars..! 😇
Exactly mate
My dad had this exact car when i was five years old... he had a turntable on springs that sat on the floor between the two front seats. I loved that car because at the time i could lay head to toe in the back seat and at night my thing was to do that while listening to the sound of the engine and watching the sky through the back window usually with Elvis playing. Remember like it was yesterday that big chrome button on the side of the seat that unlocks to push the seat down to get in the back. Good times.!
Damn I miss the 60's.......I have to swig Maalox for days to look at a newer car. This Pontiac definately has THE LOOK!
Sure does! Took a bit of work, but in the end the wheel and tire combo, and that color. Just perfect.
Nice car and in great condition considering it's age. I had a '69 Le Mans that was light green with a dark green vinyl top and dark green interior. It had a 350 2-barrel engine. Great car.
Looks exactly like the driver's education car I learned on back then no squaresville looking 4 door models for me, and what a thrill it was to drive and be seen driving such a sporty looking 2 door car back then, even if it was only driving while on a learner's permit.
Pontiac has the best factory rally wheels.
Great car, brings back lots of memories.
Couldn’t agree more. What color was yours?
@@vintagecarconnections I had a blue 1970, but my friend had a 68 exactly like the one in the video. I broke the windshield with my head when he hit a tree. There were three of us in the car and somehow none of us got hurt. I think all the small trees we hit first slowed us down before we hit the big one. It worked out okay, his next car was a 1970 GTO convertible.
@@bigredc222 Ouch! Nothing like memories about a certain car. Classic cars are time machines. Cheers Yevgen
Loved driving my Dad's Tempest - Verduro Green was the color!
I owned a 1968 LeMans Same color green with black, carpet's, white bucket seats with a 350 that replaced a 68 400. Loved the car.
Looks like the ‘68 version of my ‘69 LeMans. Verdoro green, black vinyl top, etc. Very nice!
Someone has good taste.
I like how it makes TIE fighter noises if you leave the door open
Beautiful 💔😭🔥💯 Man I miss mine identical to This one , mine was hijacked, in 2010 , Never seen again 😢
Sorry to hear!
Maybe you day you will relive the dream? 🤞

How did it do on Turo? i have the same car and was interested
Did fine. Rented a few times. But any 60s car must be bullet proof. Somehow stuff breaks. A lot.
My first car same except green gld interior off white vinyl roof single exhaust 350 2bbl buckets yours is amazing..
Thank you! It was fun building this one, and the results speak for themselves. Wish I could keep them all. ☺️
That was exactly my first car.
Very nice Pontiac, colour super👍
Thank you! Cheers!
my dad's one cool car
Have had my 68 ,same color for 40yrs now. Mine came with the correct taillights and correct round driver side mirror. I have a 350 eng with 65,000 on it. Has black interior with buckets and auto trans center col , I didn't get ac on mine. Your car looks great as mine. I wonder what they sell for these days...
Sweet! Really enjoyed working / selling on this one. They range from $15,000 to $27,000 (for the majority of the driver - restored market) for around $20,000-22,000 you will get a very decent car that is ready to go plus minus some taste mods here / fixes there.
I miss mine.
Buy another one!
Love it. Have a 68 Fullsize myself. Where is the location of filming here?
Sweet! That's Little Tujunga, California.
@@vintagecarconnections One other thing.. If you can, do you know if those were super 44s or original 40 series from flowmaster? trying to make a choice.
@@16abind Series 40, 3" before, after. A good set of headers would be the next step up as well.
My 72 skylark was sweet.
Got a video? Share it.
Had one like this one. Why did i get rid of it??
Time for another? :)
Tailights look like Tempest lights
it;s too bad this car was not available in Canada.
Gorgeous
Thank you.
excellent
Thank you!
Still for sale?
Sold. But thanks for the interest.
nice
Looks like a 68 Parisienne.
Why were bucket seats rare in these super cars especially in the Lemans and Tempest? They deserve bucket seats with automatic on the floor at least.
Check out my other video luckily that other one also had buckets and an auto. Lovely cars. 😇
Agreed
Verduro Green!
Yep! Beautiful color, especially w the black and yellow Cali plates. 🍻
@@vintagecarconnections Color of my Dad's 68 Tempest!
All it needs is the hood mounted tack!!!
Google 1968 GTO. That’s the next step up. 😇 You’re welcome!
@@vintagecarconnections great!!! Then it's time to hunt buicks!!!!! Lol!
@@johnlorusso1835 don't pick the wrong Buick. Almost every GTO won many races...against other cars that weren't as quick as a GTO.
Sell it to mee!
Had one in 74 to 78, didn't appreciate it enough.
I had one with an over head cam six. Junk
Muscle car with a six? Maybe you did it wrong. :P
