Hi Helen and Dave as a regular user of you tube you popped up one day and ive been watching you every day😊 ive lived in North Norfolk for 12 years and since watching your travels around Norfolk and Suffolk you have shown me some amazing places to visit and to eat.Keep it up and happy travels. Annie from Briston
Hello Annie, well thank you so much for your lovely comment and for watching the channel. We are always amazed by how many beautiful places there are to visit on our own doorstep! Stay tuned and thanks again, Helen & Dave 👍
Audio on this post is exceptional..must have separate mic's...I always have immense respect and appreciation for our volunteer firefighters,, sea rescue boat crews and emergency response folks who put them selves in harm's way to help the community...god bless them and keep them safe!!.❤️🙏🇬🇧🇺🇦
With you all the way, our emergency services, armed forces and volunteers are to be respected for what they do and yes, god bless them. We do have separate lapel mics, but sadly the battery went part way through the video (I forgot to charge up). Think we got away with it though. As always, thanks for watching. Cheers, Helen & Dave
Hi Dave and Helen. Your towing and setting up experience takes me back 2 years when we purchased our first caravan in November (Swift twin axle Challenger). Having never owned a caravan before we towed from the dealers in Grantham to Woodland Waters in the dark and set up in the dark. Not having a clue what we were doing. we were so grateful to some very friendly caravanners who helped us find our pitch and set up. It was horrendous and I vowed the van would be sold the next day. 2 years down the road, we can't get enough of caravanning and have met some lovely people. Get vlog yet again, thank you. Cheers Terry.
That's a lovely story Terry, thanks for sharing it. Yes, if you've still got your caravan a year down the line then you're probably hooked. The caravanning community is generally always ready to help, which is fantastic. Thanks as always for watching and leaving a comment. ATB, Helen & Dave
Hello Dave & Helen, I don’t mind night towing as the roads are quieter, but only done it twice after the weather forecast predicted strong winds for our departure day. Nice to see Cromer again but as with any seaside resort it’s not the same with the shutters down. we spotted our favorite ice cream shop opposite Dapper Chaps. All meals looked very appetizing especially the fish & chips 😋. Looks like you had an enjoyable time there 👍. All the best to you both, Rob & Gail
Hi Rob & Gail, We know only too well what you mean but when you live at the seaside (Caister On Sea) it’s sometimes nice to visit without the crowds but the downside as you rightly point out is many of the traders have shut up shop and gone to The Canaries 😂 Love Cromer, thanks for watching 👍 Helen & Dave 👍
Many Happy Returns Helen! Gosh my jaw dropped at the price of that dinner, tremendous value. Very brave towing in the dark, wouldn't fancy the setting up in darkness either. Cromer looks so nice and well done to the local British legion with that display, the horse was an incredible touch.
Hi Ashley, many thanks for your birthday wishes. Agreed the British Legion did a great job there and the food and prices were just amazing. Thanks for watching. Helen & Dave 👍
Great video guys and have to say, after watching we were absolutely starving seeing all that lovely food... and Happy Birthday Helen!... cheers from Dave and Jane 👍

Used to pitch up in the dark a lot when kids were at school, pick ‘em up and off into the sunset, literally. If I’m pitching in the dark these days something has gone wrong. Take care.
I love Cromer. Been a couple of times. But I have yet to visit sheringham. I have got the pink stuff and it is very good. Thanks again for another great video mate. 😊

Many happy returns, Helen. Cromer is really one of our favourite places, not least because we were both born there exactly 3 months apart and 300 yards apart, missus even has Henry Blogg in her family tree from her mother’s side, just to further enforce the connection. Never dull there regardless of weather. Will be there at Seacroft for New Year, cannot wait to get Xmas out of the way! Bah humbug.

Hi Dave and Helen, you did great towing in the dark and what a lovely meet up with your friends and all of the dogs ha ha . The campsite looks lovely and the trip into Cromer looked nice despite the weather. We have been to Cromer a few times but haven't been inside the church well its beautiful , the sun eventually came out x Julie and Tony x
Hi Julie & Tony, thanks so much, knowing the roads well certainly helped. Cromer parish church is beautiful and well worth a visit. I suppose we can't expect great weather in November but when the sun shone it was really rather pleasant. Best wishes to you both. Helen & Dave
Start of the vid your handbrake was on 🤦♂️, I thought here we go ,,,, my dad did it once when I was a kid, driving 13mile, arrived at site and shoes were welding to the drums ,,, with a lovely red glow
lol rest assured it was off before we left Teddy. I always put the brake on when we are stationary, especially on a sloping drive. Thanks, very observant of you though. Cheers, Helen & Dave
Always a first time for everything towing in the dark, it does make setting up a little more problematic 🔦. You can’t beat Cromer at any time of the year , or whatever the weather, we love it. We have stayed at Forest Park just once and it was really convenient for walking into town. Norfolks quite a good place for Banksy hunting. Loved the vlog, best wishes H&M. 😊
I am surprised folk are worried about towing at night. We would not get out for 5 months of the year when we were towing. I will see your Cromer and raise you a Glen Affric in autumn. Our video of this will be on the 11th Dec though. Be safe out there.
It was no hassle David but I get your point about the long dark nights in Scotland this time of year. I think your Glen Africa wins hands down. Take care, Helen & Dave
Happy belated birthday to you Helen! I've clearly been away from the UK for far too long. I didn't even think about towing at night. Here in Japan, you will find few caravans on our tolled expressways (motorways) during the daytime. Everybody travels overnight, to take advantage of the 'midnight discount' which lessens the price by 30%. There are different categories of tolls and towing a single axle trailer pushes you up one rank to a commercial vehicle price. Towing a twin axle trailer of which the axle is more than 1m apart, pushes you up two ranks to the price of HGVs and the like. Additionally, we don't have summer time and it gets dark at around 7pm, even on the longest day of summer. So, towing in the dark is a regular feature of caravan life here.
I had never realised how in Japan the nights are so long, even in summer. Midnight discounts is a good idea 👍 It really wasn’t a problem setting up in the dark but not something I would want to make a habit of. Best wishes, Helen & Dave 👍

Hi Paul, congratulations on acquiring a new caravan, it has easily been the best purchase we have ever made. Worth getting a jacket for the aqua roll, we use one in winter months. I have put a link below to what we have on our Amazon store. www.amazon.co.uk/shop/caravantastic/list/2Z4I00LXFBTPX?tag=onamzcarava0c-21&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ons_mixed_d Great idea to get to a local site and try everything out close to home. Remember though that as you move into spring and summer, that's where the real fun starts. Thanks for subscribing and stay in touch, we're always keen to hear how people are getting on in their caravans. All the best, Helen & Dave
Hi Dave & Helen, I’m very new to your channel and watching back through your vlogs which I’m finding a great watch and very useful/helpful. I like to ask… How do you find the Kia Sportage as a tow car? My wife and I are going to be getting a caravan next year some time but need to change our car first for something bigger and heavier, as we have a 2016 Merc A Class and would like a van with a layout and size similar to yours. So 4x4 and auto. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Adam.
Hi Adam, many thanks indeed for watching the channel and taking the time to leave a comment. Ours is a 2016 GTline 2.0lt AWD and it tows very well indeed upto 1900kg, we’ve been very happy with it. However the new Sportage is not so good it seems, smaller engine and less capacity. The Kia Sorento (the big brother) is a very capable tow car though but costs more and not quite so economical. I never wanted a Kia but it has been the best car we’ve ever had and we have had many. Good luck and thanks again. Helen & Dave 👍
@@HelenandDave Hi Dave & Helen, thanks for your quick reply it’s much appreciated. Ive subscribed to your channel and look forward to the content. I’ve seen the specs of the new Sportage and the price is way more than I want to spend. I’m going used so will have a look at the previous shape.
Hi Derek, very observant of you! Yes it is. I'm not an old mod but do enjoy a bit of ska and northern soul. We are both from RAF families and have a love of aircraft. lol Thanks for watching. Helen & Dave

Dave was that a cheeky little roundel on your tailgate?
Hi Derek, very observant of you! Yes it is. I'm not an old mod but do enjoy a bit of ska and northern soul. We are both from RAF families and have a love of aircraft. lol Thanks for watching. Helen & Dave
I think your fascination of aircraft might have come through. I have to admit with Norfolk being a theme and Helen being Scottish that you might have been in the RAF. No matter how you did meet - we’re glad you did.
@@derekjacob2101 Thanks Derek, do you have an RAF connection?
@@HelenandDave Yes I do Dave; I was based at Wattisham near Ipswich and then RAF Germany and then RAF Wittering - home of the Harrier. I was an Aircraft Engineer. Went on to work servicing B747s at Stanstead
Ive maintained my relationship with aircraft up to the present day (and my wife just looks at me and sighs).
Have you been on the steam train. It is good.
Yes, we have and must agree it's wonderful and looks great at Christmas.
Have you tried King's forest campsite at West Stow?
Hi Geoff, no this is a new one on us, is it somewhere that you would recommend or was it somewhere you were thinking of visiting yourself?
@HelenandDave thinking of doing it ourselves. Went for a walk round west stow Anglo saxon village and park, saw this on the way out. Looks good on website.
I know it's over the border for you.
@@geoffclarke9157 thanks Geoff, will take a look.
