Glad to see the CT river has been cleaned up. I grew up in Chicopee 200 yds from the CT. Fished it like crazy as a kid in the late 60s early 70s but the pollution was horrible as raw sewage was poured straight into the water. Turds and condoms floating down stream left many bad memories but there was always fish.
Fished channel cats at the Charter Oak landing in Hartford CT in the 80s as a kid. Not uncommon to catch 20+ fish after the sun went down using chicken liver on a 2/0 hook 18 inch leader and 1 ounce sinker. The river had an amazing amount of fish even though it was polluted. Catch and release was the order of the day. Good times.
Dude this was sweet! Great to check out different stuff. I wanted to try catfishing in some of the Jersey reservoirs. Saw NJ DEP netting monsters in some lakes this spring. 15-20lb blue cats and channels.
