Erqing was never an enemy, not to the Empress. She was a tool, a weapon wielded by Her Majesty to cut off Yingluo's relationship with the Emperor. And she performed her function admirably, and was duly discarded in the process. Hoifa-Nara Shushen is *scary*.
Alot of the scenes and scripts were killed off due to Chinese Government censorship. If you look up deleted scenes, Erqing forcefully made Erqing drink poison but that scene didn't make the cut because it was considered inappropriate.
They didn't show who killed Erqing or if she killed herself (very doubtful) - I guess it will be somewhat important in the future. Great episode. I still don't buy the Empress as the Evil mastermind. Still, at least the writers are consistent in making her a very cunning opponent, possibly a final one for Yingluo (Although Emperor is also possible). Edit: After watching it fully and reading some articles afterwards, unclear Erqing death was because of the Chinese Censorship involvement. Also, as good as the Empress "borrowed knife" trap was, it was done based on the wrong belief that Yingluo is interested in the Empress position and her connection with the Empereror has to be severed.
尔晴这个角色，演员真的演绎得很不错，本来是个纯坏的单薄角色，但是从演绎里能看出她那种癫狂，不是单纯歇斯底里的吼叫（点名袁春望），而是一种很变态的神经质，感觉她就是一种表演性的反社会人格，内心极度自洽，张口就来的谎话那一分钟感觉她自己都信了，而且演员清秀但不是很艳，更有反差感，常常觉得她疯了以后更美了。我是真的怀疑这要是男角色可能会有很多人喜欢他
最喜欢皇上和海兰察对礼物的反应。最后可惜了明玉和海兰察的感情。希望下辈子他们能永远在一起。❤
