No 4k 60FPS HDR recording is so strange. Like the previous HDMI 2.0 capture card could do it so why the downgrade? I guess HDR is just not popular

I completely agree about noticing a genuine difference between capture & upload quality. While slight, it's still there. Although I use an uncommon method with an Atomos Ninja V. 4K 60 in codecs up to ProRes RAW level of quality (wasted on UA-cam compression). But I use an HDMI splitter box instead of pass-though, for as close to zero latency as possible. I know my method is a bit odd, but it doesn't require any capture software running on the gaming PC as the encoding is done on the Ninja's chip. As I don't stream I found it to be a great and fairly low cost single PC setup for pure capture.
I enjoy seeing how the tech is advancing and I'm especially keen on external encoders/capture. We've come a long way from Fraps! 👍

An essential piece of kit if you're capturing footage. It's been a few years since I needed one, and will need to update to something newer if I start capturing again. I prefer internal cards also, and have a dedicated PC, but have wondered how the external boxes perform, as it would be nice to free up a PCI-E slot, especially as I have storage cards.
They have an internal version as well.
