Thank you for sharing this, Dylan. We are wishing you a great rest of winter and an even better spring!
Thank you! You too!
@@D.Stephenson You're very welcome! Thank you!
Having a dealership whose hand you have to hold is such a HUGE aggravation! This has been a year of the unexpected brother. Don't let it get the best of you. Stay strong and keep kicking butt buddy. These are all things that come along with being a business owner. These setbacks will only make you better in the long run. I'm proud of the effort you are making to build your company and being successful. Taking a break from social media is also good for your mental health. If ya ever need to chat I'm always here for ya....Happy New Year brother.
Bro!! After posting this video I have realized that I am not the only one who has dealt with or is dealing with this issue. Thank you for reaching out and the words of encouragement. I might have to take you up on that chat 👊🏻 hope all is well your way!
@@D.Stephenson that's what friends are for homie!!! Many of us have been through it. Some are going through it and others will go through it. Keep focused on what's in front of you. You have the fighter mentality so never forget it! If ya ever need me you know how to reach me...Happy New Year to you and your family!
@@mithgo_outdoor I appreciate it bud! Same to you as well! 👊🏻
This was a real video! I would suggest taking some d3 supplement. I know it sounds crazy but I have found it really helps my mood. Also enjoy this free time because it will come to a end soon
Thank you for dropping in! I will have to look in to that. I appreciate the tip! Hope all is well your way 👍🏻
@@D.Stephenson I know it sounds crazy but in the summer you get all the vitamin d. But in the winter we are stuck indoors with little sun light. I started taking it two years ago what a difference it made.
I am going through tbe exact same thing. No invoices going out or seeing the revenue flowing like it has been the last 9 months. I have been helping a good friend of mine as his right hand man running a plow truck or skid steer when we get events which has only been 3 here in Indiana. Not much motivation however on the days when there isn't snow. I have been working on marketing and advertising for next season which always does excite me so it helps a little.
I am glad I set money aside all year for that winter fund which is an absolute must in my book. It never hurts to have even if it doesn't end up being used during winter. Never know when a drought or pandemic stops the revenue and you need that emergency fund. Good luck to you buddy and we will get through this winter "funk".💪😎✌
You got this! Just a little funk! I know prepping for spring rush now will relieve some stress when it gets chaotic. Hope all is well your way my friend
Don’t stress keep calling the big companies they always need help. The best advice I’ve been given is “ THE SQUEAKY WHEEL GETS THE GREASE” make it happen.
Amen to that! I appreciate the support!
Marketing? How do you get more clients, what’s your strategy? Plans for 2021? That would be great 👍
Awesome! Thank you for your feedback! I will write that down! 👊🏻

Awesome video man. I applaud you for the step in taking this on full-time. I feel like equipment videos are what people like to watch the most (as in they are best for viewer count on You Tube metrics), but what we need to be watching are videos on how to be more profitable and make goo decisions for our companies... Love your stuff. Your branding is stellar as well... Peace
Thank you for the kind words! I agree with you 100% on the videos. I will keep that in mind for future videos. Thanks for dropping by the channel! Hope you have a great New Year
Hey, I can completely understand what you go through during the winter. I go through the same thing during the off season. Your not alone buddy!
Thanks for dropping in! Not many people talk about this topic. I’m quickly realizing that a lot of folks go through this. I think this is something many people in the community will relate too. Glad I made a video talking about this. Hope you have a great New Year! Blessings your way in 2021!
I'm here in ohio
Heck do it all like most of us guys with family I like to add a variety of stuff we get into on our Instagram and business pages. All ur videos are great and don’t stress you will get through it.
I deal with the weather as you know as I always joke with you. It is a slow time but like me I work on rental properties but that’s not every day. Enjoy the family time. Have a good new year.
I might have to do that! Lol I appreciate the positive feedback and words of encouragement bud. Hope all is well your way!
Watched this in its entirety. I completely feel you man. I went on travel for work twice and had to quarantine both times, so pretty much from October to a week and a half ago, I was home alone. And like you, I'm strugglin to find myself again. There are some rough days w/ breakdowns and complete loss of appetite, but also have good days, and I'm trying to focus on the good days. I've never been physically away from work for this long before and it's playing with my head. But I've found music really soothes the brain and helps somewhat. Anyways, I love the content you put out....I'm not a lawn care company, just a homeowner always looking to improve my skills and you do an awesome job.
Hey man, thank you for sticking around through the whole video and sharing your experiences. I’ll give the music a try for sure! Hope all is well your way and you find peace to get back on track! Be blessed! Keep in touch!
@@D.Stephenson Thanks brother, things seem to be getting better I think! Wishing you the same! And will do.
Watched to the end. I know what you are going through. My son and I have been working together for seven years. I am a full time teacher and we have been building our business with the intent of it becoming my son’s full time business and my part time retirement gig. I did very little work with my son this fall and it really through me off. I always seemed tired and pretty unmotivated. We had a few expensive truck repairs this fall as well and it seemed to compound. Luckily we had the money saved. Definitely not going to step away from the business this next year like I did this year.
This definitely seems to be more common than I thought! I hope you guys were able to get fixed up and back at it without too much set back! Thanks for dropping in on this I appreciate it!
Winter is definitely a slower time of the year especially if you don't live in a snow belt. I deal with the same hit or miss snow here in Michigan that you deal with but there's times where the slower work has it's perks as like you mention with family time but at the same time bills need to be paid so it's smart to have a winter fund just in case of a lean year during winter but when it does snow or at least lots need salted that's just extra money in the BANK! You'll be fine brother, just keep pushing a long and hopefully we can ALL have a wonderful and healthy 2021!
Hey man, thanks for the encouragement. Glad I’m not the only one that goes through this lol. It’s a new phase to learn! Hope you have a great 2021 as well. Keep in touch my friend
@@D.Stephenson I will definitely keep in touch!
Trying to start a lawn business in Ohio as well would be nice to get some insight from a beginning business like yours. I am a solo owner operator and a little older. Would appreciate any advice from you that would help me grow.
Man, there’s so much to pile in one message. So I’ll hit the top 3.
1. Do quality work. As simple as it sounds, if your work is not up to par, you won’t get the customers to call.
2. Know your numbers to allow you to go correctly. Don’t buy all brand new equipment and that $12k mower if you have no customers or are just starting. You can start rolling with a $5k set up and start making money.
3. Have realistic expectations. It costs a lot to grow a business. It takes a lot of effort to grow as well. It can be 10+ years till you really start making it.
Hope this helps. I also have a ton of videos on here that should help you out as well.
@@D.Stephenson it does
Congrats on making the swing to full time
Thank you!
Dont stress, its Gods plan
It’s definitely easier said than done, but, a lot of truth to that as well!! 🙌🏻
Were you located at
Springfield, OH. Between Dayton and Columbus. You?
You haven’t been gone as long as I have. In all seriousness, I have 4 videos ready to be uploaded later this week.
Man a month just feels like so long. Especially when I was posting multiple videos a week all year. Can’t wait to see what you have coming!
Man I feel the same! This is going to be a hard one but I’m trying to schedule my days better and doing some improvements around the house that I’ve put on the back burner. I was in sales at Sysco and worked afterwards like you. Now there’s a whole day to fill up! Thanks for sharing!
Good video brotha! Every once and a while you might need to do a blow-off steam/therapy video when you get frustrated (LOL). We've all been there. It will pass and you'll be going 100mph again, no worries. Keep up the great work.
Thank you! Haha maybe so! I guess everyone needs to vent every now and then. 🤙🏻
