WOW I just built a dashboard for my work using excel following this Tutorial. I am a python Fan but not having to deal with environment settings and deployment issues this approach is amazing. thank you for sharing the Knowledge.
I know you’re the Obi-Wan Kenobi of explaining everything finance but I wanted to say I am proud of your progress and quick growth. Been following for a time long before 100k. Keep up the good work.
This video was great! You got straight to the point! I love what I am able to do. I start a new data job next week and can't wait to demonstrate these new skills.
Wew, congratulation for your new position. May I ask how we can land a data job? I am struggling to get one, my main field is in healthcare since I am also a Physician, thank you
@@romelciptoadi4200 I started by getting a Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate. After completing the course through Coursera, it took me a little under 5 months to get a data job.
I really appreciate your video and that you give us an example to work on while we are viewing the video. My example came out pretty good thanks to your instructions. My only critique is to add how to customize the slicers, since you went past that part. I was trying to make one to match yours and it left me with the question on how I can make one.
This is something useful I can see many uses of it in the daily reports I create, this can up the notch a lot more than regular pivot data copied and pasted on emails Thanks Kenji 👍
Thank you for the tutorial, much appreciate. However I have a question: I have three sheets: Summary, 101 (for tenant 1), and 102 (for tenant 2). The Summary sheet has a table that summarize all the tenants info, with columns for Unit No, Balance Due, Tenant Name, Telephone. On the Tenant sheets (101 and 102), I want to link specific cells to the corresponding columns in the Summary sheet. This way, the Summary sheet will be automatically updated with information from the Tenant sheets. For example, on each Tenant sheet, there is a cell (I7) for Unit No. that I want to link to the Unit No column on the summary, Cell K5 to link to the Balance Due column, Cell C7 to link to the Tenant Names column, and Cell C9 to link to the Telephone column. In that I way, I will have first row for tenant 101 and all the details second row for tenant 102 and all the details, and so on. I know I can use “=’101’!I7 for refence, but what if I have 1000 tenants? This will be a lot of work. So I want a formula or VBA code to automatically and dynamically update the Summary sheet even if additional tenant sheets are added. Is it possible?
I am using Excel 2016. I cannot use maps in dashboard. It's 3d dashboard. I cannot find the maps you use in this tutorial. How can I use maps like you used in this tutorial in Excel 2016. Thank you so much.
Awesome. Btw I would like to share my experience in the last step - report connections: I met an issue 'Report Connections Slicer Not Showing All Pivot Tables' because in the sheet Sales Trend I chose data as in the video, but I filled 'table1' for the 3 rest tables as I named the data as table 1. When I fill the data in the same way in 4 tables, it works
Hey @KenjiExplains, thank you! it has been very helpful. Though I got stuck at the part of connecting the slicers to the different Pivot tables. I did have pivot tables from different tables, not the same table. Do you think that's the reason my slicers are not connecting to my pivot tables? Any help is much appreciated!
You know for the "Sales in USD" could you replace that with a drop down box that converts between different currencies and automatically updates with the exchange rate?
An easy macro can be added to the "data" sheet to update the pivot tables automaticaly. If not for that the dashboard is what is needed for most businesses! Love your content, keep it up I always learn new information watching these.
Excellent video. I am using a Mac. When I insert the titled map, some of the states do not populate. I even changed the data type to geography. Any thoughts?
Dont think so as we cover that in our course sorry.... If you're interested in enrolling you can check it out here (I understand if it's not what you're looking for): www.careerprinciples.com/courses/excel-for-business-finance
Thank you for this. Quick Q - If we make any new edits to the data sheet, will the dashboard automatically recognize the changes and update accordingly?
Great you are , one simple question : i tried more than once to add table style to my excel to be my preference , it works , but when i closed my file can not find it a gain what is my problem ?
Hi kenji. Thanks for the awesome video. Super helpful. Looking forward to more videos and content. Side note: I am trying to build a dashboard as part of my academic project and plan to use this data. For the project, I would need to provide references to the origin of the data. Are you able to pls provide a bit of context on the data source? Pls and thank you!
Thanks Kenji! awesome. I have a little problem - I can't see the other pivot tables to link. I see only one - the Sales in USD. Why is that? Thanks for the help.
